@@dearcastiel4667 The Skull Merchant we're seeing was likely a concept art design for a Manga killer they had planned down the pipeline which explains why lore has so much to do with her being inspired by the manuscripts of her fathers manga but has to hastily explain why she's some rich CEO to explain her drone power. What likely happened is that during the production of the chapter someone demanded more money for the license and behavior figured it was too much money, so they salvaged what they had instead of delaying the chapter.

That's not how it works. You don't just make a chapter based around a licensed character mid way through then asked for the rights holder later. If they can't get the license, either they don't make the chapter at all or create their own that is inspired by the license which is what this chapter seems to be.

Mori would be so much better if she would like indicate with her hand to the survivor to get up. They get up facing her and she would then quickly walk towards them and drive the spikes through their stomach. It would be way more visually interesting than her fondling their shoulder before stabbing them in the back.
I feel like as the skull merchant, why didnt they do anything related to skulls? Or have the drone do anything at all. Same thing just in general. Wouldve been cooler if she could remote control her drones, and kinda like face sucking aliens they latched onto the head or something. There was so much opportunity but they just made her a scout in apex legends. Or maybe not remote control her drones but be kinda like the knight where the drone chases survivors on its own and latches onto the skull or something.
Personally, my idea was this for the mori: Killer sneaks up behind survivor and places hand on shoulder, survivor gets scared, hits it off their shoulder and runs away looking behind them. The camera would be following the survivor and then they'd bump into a drone while not looking in front of them, it makes them fall onto the ground looking up, now it would enter the survivors POV, looking up while dazed, the killer looks down at them and readies their claw to slash/stab the survivor in the face and it shows the survivor in third person perspective screaming and putting their hands up in terror but to no avail, the killer sinks their claw into the survivor and pulls it out, all while you get a closeup third-person perspective of this brutality
I'm genuinely shocked to see so many negative responses, she looks _incredible._ Balance might need a little tweaking, but everything else about this chapter looks absolutely fantastic!
@Mr. Fox Mecha arms are cool, gas masks are cool, drones are cool and skulls in drones are doubly cool. Radar things like hers are cool, also. Balance wise, she may be kind of weak, a little early to tell. Conceptually and visually, she looks super cool!
The new execution makes the victims look like they dint know where the person is at, despite having just dropped them and standing near them. Looks silly in a way with how they are all like 'Which way did he go George, which way did he go?' like in the old Looney Toons cartoons.
Chase Afoot is actually gonna synergize well with Hubris. Maybe something like Rancor, Hubris, Brutal Strength, and either Overcharge or Call Of Brine would be good

Leverage + Dying Light is gonna be a nuts combo that incentivizes you to hook people...I like it. Also, contrary to most of the community, I think the killer's actually pretty neat. I get why people would be a bit disappointed with her not being a robot or the Terminator or something, but you can't win em all I guess. Hopefully she's fun to play.
30 seconds of leverage and ONLY if you actually get the hooks while enough people are injured to get value from it is going to be a meme at best, and not even really a good one to be honest. There are way better anti healing perks to go in those slots if that's what you're going for

Both perks are garbage. By the time they do anything you've already pretty much won anyways. Leverage won't matter until you have ten hooks, which means you didn't need it to begin with. Dying Light has the same deal. Terrible perks.
Absolutely loved the concept of a killer like this. She seems fun to play and her kit is pretty damn cool. Her design can be reworked into something a bit better but that's mostly just people being let down that she isn't full on cyborg. Her mori could definitely use some work due to how...Bad it is. It reminds me of Freddy's Mori because it basically is. I can't wait to play her. She seems really fun.
Well, that's definitely something new. Btw, you didn't mention the lamps on her radar. The left one shows whether you can place a drone in location you are in or not, and the right one lights up when you can track survivor with radar (with claw trap or drone).
The power can help locate survivors in chases very well because it’ll help if survivors try to mind game, although it’s not that helpful with chases, but it’s VERY helpful with patrolling gens and gates that are very far away

the first thing i saw of her was her mori and i thought the drone "scanning" the survivor, making them unable to move is a cool thing. until i realized the drone is just there for no reason.

Sorry if this comes off as rude, but don't the guards also give information? I mean, yeah, it's not a direct aura read on the survivor, but you do get the aura read on the thing chasing them.
You ended up saying the K-word when reading the perk descriptions at the start, if that happens to matter. Wanted to give you a heads up if you may have missed it. And also, the radar has Green/Yellow/Red lights that go on and off at some points. I believe I saw them turning on when someone entered your drone radius? May be good to test that and see so you don't have to pull up the radar, lower your movespeed, for no info, etc.
Interesting, an exoskeleton arm, but with the way it's bound to her shoulder it wouldn't be able to generate leverage on its own, it's relying on her body for it, so it wouldn't really be able to generate extra power I don't think.
I'm pretty confident that they where gonna do the Predator but then for whatever reason they had to cancel it, there are so many similarities. Even her mori looks like she is supposed to be invisible a la predator and then surprising them with the typical predator stab + lift. It looks so damn awkward with her just standing there at first... Sad :(

This is exactly the sort of killer I've been hoping for. Stealthy and lots of info. You really feel like a bounty hunter with her. I love the somewhat sci-fi feel to her especially. Also, I like her mori. She's a bounty hunter so she keeps her kill quick and concise but at the same time you can tell she enjoys toying with her prey, as seen from the way she very gently grips their shoulder after the drone scans them to let them know they're about to die.
Alone she's a bit of a who-megalul but maybe once theres a story to attach with her she can be cool. i just think the mask is goofy, she shouldve kept her face and added more robotic attachments elsewhere

Nurse is my favorite mostly because of the way she closes the person's eyes after she strangles them to death.

The timing of release of this New DLC is pretty neat. The 3 New charathers are Brazilian It seems and The ptb came out Just a few days from Carnaval in Brazil.
She feels like a reskinned pig with drones instead of the reverse bear traps just from watching. The mori is like everyone said a basic Freddy knock off with the addition of a drone. The design gives me this odd cyborg/terminator feel without the intimidation. Overall tho she doesn't seem to b as bad as what I've been hearing. With some changes I do think she could b a really scary killer to go up against.
What the Mori should be: Should be like Nemisis’ Mori where she grabs the head of the survivor, but instead puts her two spikes in the survivors eyes through their head, which would make her name “Skull merchant” more appropriate. Just a thought
Good combo, but only good on paper. The main issue with things like spirit fury, especially against a SWF, is that once they know you have it, it's pre-throw time.
I can see her being a great mind game killer with drone undetectable and radar tracking but they need to remove the eye that appears when survivors are being looked at by the radar.
Her drone detection systeme, when you can see survivors on your radar is like the old freddy's power but on the entire map. Combine that with a new mechanic and a bunch of new effect and you get a nice and upgrated version of old Freddy.
What I love about DBD is how the devs always strive for new TYPES of horror! The Skull Merchant, in my opinion, is the perfect embodiment of the terror of being relentlessly tracked and hunted, it’s kind of terrifying knowing she can always see where you are while she hunts in undetectable.

They don't all have to be physically imposing, they can pull from other forms of horror too. Same deal as Trickster, he's not all that physically imposing but in a lot of ways he's significantly scarier than someone like Trapper.

i have a strange but short story to tell related to your *Mortuary Assistant* videos.. - so i watched both the demo playthrough and the full video, and the intro said something like *"this game is based on true events, if you experience anything unordinary after playing, contact.."* - Shortly after finishing the last playthrough video, my cat literally FLUNG into the air while sleeping and has NEVER done that before. There were no loud sounds or anything in the room and it must've been a nightmare but the coincidence and timing is just so surreal. I immediately went to pick her up and comforted her but she seemed completely out of it and confused where she was for a few minutes. ):
I think this killer is not only going to be top tier for camping but protecting hexes, making sure theres no one is trying to flashlight save, looping! I know spookz will find many strategies with her
The killer is not as bad as everyone in the community says she is. She has an equal amount of pros and cons that need a little bit more tweaks with her powers and mechanics to make her interesting. I'm hoping that she gets some very good skins and some other interesting appearance designs. All in all, I am personally looking forward to what they are going to be adding in the future.
I get the feeling Doctor fans will fall in love with her skillcheck potential. She gets smaller skillchecks and Huntress' Lullaby for free with addons, as long as people are near a drone. A skillcheck build with her might be terrifying. Could explain why she didn't come with any regression. Don't need it if they can't hit the skillchecks.
Imagine she having two moris like The Twins. One outside and the other inside the radius from the drone. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't make the drone for just tracking if the design has a skull, it could attack the survivor on the mori together with her, like Victor.
Honestly. I think her mori suites her perfectly. Its very cinematic. Remind you. some of the other moris are "dull" as well but with her actual like "character" build they are going for. I think they did perfectly. I think it suites her really nicely for the "recon and kill" style. Its refreshing and new.
This killer was made to counter the watching and reactive style of a lot of survivors now, they all stand on a corner and wait for your stain before moving but this killer allows you to see the way survivors do, very cool. There's definitely a way you could 3 gen very hard with this 'bad guy', drones and marking.
How is that cool? The most boring part of any chase is when a survivor leaves (or is forced to leave) a loop and holds W instead of actually looping. There is literally no display of skill in this scenario on either side.

The power reminds me of BEs other horror game that failed, death garden bloodharvest. In that game you put up a bunch of drones as killer to help find survivors.
I'm calling it now. Skull Merchant was originally supposed to be a completely different killer but they ran out of time during her design, so they merged her with a mangaka killer they had further down the pipeline to avoid interrupting the new chapter every 2-3 months instead of just delaying it. After her official release on live servers she will get a tome 6-7 months later with her 'real' skin being under the rift rewards.
You'd think with her being the skull merchant, her mori would involve something with the survivors skull. Like gouging out their eyes with the claws and ripping their head off, or something like that.

The haste after breaking pallets plus brutal strength seems like a lethal combo for catching survivors fast in chase
Ooh true I didn’t think about that, ten seconds is so long as well that you could easily stop survivors from getting to the next loop.
Add this with wraiths add on that makes you break stuff faster and the other add on that make you get out of cloak when breaking would be top tier

And also, the radar has Green/Yellow/Red lights that go on and off at some points. I believe I saw them turning on when someone entered your drone radius? May be good to test that and see so you don't have to pull up the radar, lower your movespeed, for no info, etc.
Interesting, an exoskeleton arm, but with the way it's bound to her shoulder it wouldn't be able to generate leverage on its own, it's relying on her body for it, so it wouldn't really be able to generate extra power I don't think.

I'm pretty confident that they where gonna do the Predator but then for whatever reason they had to cancel it, there are so many similarities. Even her mori looks like she is supposed to be invisible a la predator and then surprising them with the typical predator stab + lift. It looks so damn awkward with her just standing there at first... Sad :(

This is exactly the sort of killer I've been hoping for. Stealthy and lots of info. You really feel like a bounty hunter with her. I love the somewhat sci-fi feel to her especially.
Also, I like her mori. She's a bounty hunter so she keeps her kill quick and concise but at the same time you can tell she enjoys toying with her prey, as seen from the way she very gently grips their shoulder after the drone scans them to let them know they're about to die.

Nurse is my favorite mostly because of the way she closes the person's eyes after she strangles them to death.

The 3 New charathers are Brazilian It seems and The ptb came out Just a few days from Carnaval in Brazil.
She feels like a reskinned pig with drones instead of the reverse bear traps just from watching. The mori is like everyone said a basic Freddy knock off with the addition of a drone. The design gives me this odd cyborg/terminator feel without the intimidation. Overall tho she doesn't seem to b as bad as what I've been hearing. With some changes I do think she could b a really scary killer to go up against.

What the Mori should be: Should be like Nemisis’ Mori where she grabs the head of the survivor, but instead puts her two spikes in the survivors eyes through their head, which would make her name “Skull merchant” more appropriate. Just a thought

Good combo, but only good on paper. The main issue with things like spirit fury, especially against a SWF, is that once they know you have it, it's pre-throw time.
You could take away Enduring/Spirit Fury replace it with Hubris(same issue I know)

I can see her being a great mind game killer with drone undetectable and radar tracking but they need to remove the eye that appears when survivors are being looked at by the radar.

Her drone detection systeme, when you can see survivors on your radar is like the old freddy's power but on the entire map. Combine that with a new mechanic and a bunch of new effect and you get a nice and upgrated version of old Freddy.

What I love about DBD is how the devs always strive for new TYPES of horror! The Skull Merchant, in my opinion, is the perfect embodiment of the terror of being relentlessly tracked and hunted, it’s kind of terrifying knowing she can always see where you are while she hunts in undetectable.

They don't all have to be physically imposing, they can pull from other forms of horror too. Same deal as Trickster, he's not all that physically imposing but in a lot of ways he's significantly scarier than someone like Trapper.

- so i watched both the demo playthrough and the full video, and the intro said something like *"this game is based on true events, if you experience anything unordinary after playing, contact.."* - Shortly after finishing the last playthrough video, my cat literally FLUNG into the air while sleeping and has NEVER done that before. There were no loud sounds or anything in the room and it must've been a nightmare but the coincidence and timing is just so surreal.

No gen defense or perks that helps with anti loop on a M1 killer -> You are about to get absolutely destroyed by half decent survivors that push gens.

The killer is not as bad as everyone in the community says she is. She has an equal amount of pros and cons that need a little bit more tweaks with her powers and mechanics to make her interesting. I'm hoping that she gets some very good skins and some other interesting appearance designs. All in all, I am personally looking forward to what they are going to be adding in the future.
I get the feeling Doctor fans will fall in love with her skillcheck potential. She gets smaller skillchecks and Huntress' Lullaby for free with addons, as long as people are near a drone. A skillcheck build with her might be terrifying. Could explain why she didn't come with any regression. Don't need it if they can't hit the skillchecks.
Imagine she having two moris like The Twins. One outside and the other inside the radius from the drone. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't make the drone for just tracking if the design has a skull, it could attack the survivor on the mori together with her, like Victor.

Honestly. I think her mori suites her perfectly. Its very cinematic. Remind you. some of the other moris are "dull" as well but with her actual like "character" build they are going for. I think they did perfectly. I think it suites her really nicely for the "recon and kill" style. Its refreshing and new.
This killer was made to counter the watching and reactive style of a lot of survivors now, they all stand on a corner and wait for your stain before moving but this killer allows you to see the way survivors do, very cool. There's definitely a way you could 3 gen very hard with this 'bad guy', drones and marking.
How is that cool? The most boring part of any chase is when a survivor leaves (or is forced to leave) a loop and holds W instead of actually looping. There is literally no display of skill in this scenario on either side.

The power reminds me of BEs other horror game that failed, death garden bloodharvest. In that game you put up a bunch of drones as killer to help find survivors.
I'm calling it now. Skull Merchant was originally supposed to be a completely different killer but they ran out of time during her design, so they merged her with a mangaka killer they had further down the pipeline to avoid interrupting the new chapter every 2-3 months instead of just delaying it. After her official release on live servers she will get a tome 6-7 months later with her 'real' skin being under the rift rewards.
You'd think with her being the skull merchant, her mori would involve something with the survivors skull. Like gouging out their eyes with the claws and ripping their head off, or something like that.
