i loved how Lea comforted Shaun not with words but in complete silence and holding on tight. Shaun didn't need anyone to tell him how to feel right then. Just unconditional support.
That dad was a monster. And his mother was equally guilty by staying with that monster and not protecting her children

Freddie is a brilliant actor, he brings such feeling to the character as well as great sympathy.
Incredible actor. I have dealt with people who have the same affliction as Sean, and the actor portraits them perfectly, without overdoing it for theatrical effect.

His biological father was a monster, and so was his mom. His actual dad was Glassman.
Shaun's mother wasn't as bad as Shaun's father was, but she wasn't a good mom because she prefered her evil husband instead of her sons (even if she said that it is not true when Shaun asked her). If she had supported Shaun and had got divorced from Ethan, Steve wouldn't have died.

How many actors are there in Hollywood that could have played the role of Shaun? Not many, that’s for sure.
