It's hella funny because these spoilers have been out from the pen and paper cyberpunk maker, RTalsorian, all they did was release a bunch of cyberpunk facts that describe the night city timeline.

Yeah he and I have chatted a few times at this point and he's been pretty transparent about working with CDPR to make sure everything ties together as best he can

from what i viewed it's only a slight spoiler but this was mostly lore from the tabletop games.....though maybe in game you'd play as johnny silverhand during the 4th corpo wars as a memories or something, I just speculate so maybe it is true maybe not, we will know when we load the game on the 10th december

That being said, the only stuff that might be spoilery for the game itself is the stuff that happened with Johnny, assuming we can play through his memories or something.
You're better off looking at the newly released Cyberpunk RED. 2020 is a very old, slow, and arduous RPG at this point. It really needed refining. As an example, Netrunning is basically awful in 2020, and that's why they added the black ice virus for RED and 2077, making the net inaccessible, so they could write out players hacking from home, never getting involved, and basically playing their own game lol.
As someone who has no idea what the world of Cyberpunk was all about, this was a great introduction, it puts a great perspective on the desperate state of this world.
A little note to all of you.. 1. This is not GTA, don't expect you are free to do whatever you want without consequences 2. This is not Call of Duty, don't expect this game will have fast faced combat 3.This is not Grand Turismo or another cars games This is a RPG first. Don't just believe in their marketing, if you do you are dumb. They made The Witcher, expect more like that game. If you don't like TW game maybe you don't like CP77 either.. *Wanna immerse yourself into the lore and background of the Cyberpunk world?* I highly recommend reading the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook. That's the original late80s/early90s Cyberpunk. Seems the game has gone pretty far from that original setting and atmosphere. I guess that's normal considering there are 57 years in between in that world. But it's just not that classic Cyberpunk we're gonna see in this game, but some modern type of it.
So IMO the whole point of RED (set in 2045) was to prevent things from evolving too far after 2020. One of the things Mike mentioned was that - even before 2077 was a thing - they knew if they wanted to do another edition they'd have to "knock the tech level down". I think CDPR knew they wanted to make a game that was basically set in the world of 2020 but felt compelled to evolve it at least a little, so the whole aftermath of the 4CW was designed to basically let 2077 keep all the 2020 sensibilities (cyberwar, guns, etc) but fiddle with the lore enough that the available tech worked within the limitations of what you can do in a video game ("local" net hubs as opposed to a world-wide datanet, for example). BUT all that said, I'm a huge TRPG advocate so YES GO PLAY 2020
To be honest, none of this content is spoiling anything to folks who either played the tabletop or have been keeping up to date on quality 2077 channels like Last Known Meal, Neon Arcade, etc., but this breakdown was really well done.
The fact that so many wars have happend between the 1980s to 2077 really helps to sell the concept that technology is growing at an exponential rate especially between the corporations since not only are they trying to outsell one another but will straight up fight against eachother

I thought the bomb that Silverhands group left was not nuclear, but big enough to wipe out the servers. What they didn't know was that Arasaka's leader had buried a nuke below the ground as sort of a failsafe, and THAT was set off by the smaller bomb? Just thought I recalled that from the tabletop game...

My 1080 ti literally just burned out after 3 years exactly. I’m getting green pixels and games are crashing when I launch. I can’t believe it only lasted 3 years. I wonder if running it on my 1440p monitor shortened the lifespan? I also wonder if running it at 144hz shortens the lifespan? Maybe I had that rare situation where my graphics card was being used to the max to keep up with the monitor?
@@parupiro754 I never played the originals so I can't say for sure, but I know for a fact that the "Never Fade Away" arc and "4th Corporate War" are major story arcs in the original and are indeed spoiled here. They might also be a slightly spoilerish for Cyberpunk 2077 because they talk about Johnny Silverhand and what happend to his girlfriend.
1:45 : It has been over two decades since I last played Cyberpunk, so a lot of this is new, and some is 'revised' I see. As I recall, the standard monetary unit of the game back in the pencil-and-paper days was the "NuYen", as Japan had become an economic powerhouse by 2020 (The Far-Near Future ^_^). Back in the 80s, Japan was doing quite well for itself, so this made sense. Their time on top didn't last, however, and now I can see how the setting is reimagined with the EEU being top dog in a post-near apocalypse setting.
honestly I think going in blind knowing nothing about the history of this universe will be not as enjoyable, same as playing the Witcher games without reading the books, yea sure the game has it's own story but there are so many references and characters from the books that reappear ( like Regis ) that completely change the way you view the game.

We have an anime coming in 2022 and it is being made by Studio Trigger. And Studio Trigger is comprised of Studio GAINAX employees who created Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann to name a few.
The World of Cyberpunk book covers all this with no spoilers. Talks about the 4th corporate war (2022-2023) and important events leading up to 2070. A ton of world building like learning about gun culture in night city, weapon manufactures, cyberware, netrunning, brain dancing,police and gangs, different economic classes, and breaks down the sections of night city. It was the best $10 on Amazon I’ve spent and highly recommend this book.
@@jasonrd316 You're right they did not, but as someone unfamiliar with the Cyberpunk universe I appreciated it. I'm pretty confident that the game will cover the history so players understand how night city got to where it is, but if for some reason CDPR does not cover all the lore, this video could be helpful to other cyberpunk newbies.
Rogue is also alive, she's currently the best fixer in Night City... you can see her in The Afterlife, she appeared in the latest few trailers and Jackey confirms it.

There aren’t games before 2077. There are a series of tabletop rpg games that focus on 2020 and other specific events.
Cyberpunk 2020 started as a tabletop rpg (like Dungeons and Dragons) in the 80's. Cyberpunk 2077 continues that story decades later.

@@parupiro754 I never played the originals so I can't say for sure, but I know for a fact that the "Never Fade Away" arc and "4th Corporate War" are major story arcs in the original and are indeed spoiled here. They might also be a slightly spoilerish for Cyberpunk 2077 because they talk about Johnny Silverhand and what happend to his girlfriend.

1:45 : It has been over two decades since I last played Cyberpunk, so a lot of this is new, and some is 'revised' I see.
As I recall, the standard monetary unit of the game back in the pencil-and-paper days was the "NuYen", as Japan had become an economic powerhouse by 2020 (The Far-Near Future ^_^).
Back in the 80s, Japan was doing quite well for itself, so this made sense. Their time on top didn't last, however, and now I can see how the setting is reimagined with the EEU being top dog in a post-near apocalypse setting.

honestly I think going in blind knowing nothing about the history of this universe will be not as enjoyable, same as playing the Witcher games without reading the books, yea sure the game has it's own story but there are so many references and characters from the books that reappear ( like Regis ) that completely change the way you view the game.

Secondly this is a basic lore overview of the world and story. The game is 100 hours longs. Giving you minor plot points from the start of the game is not a spoiler. You people need to learn definitions and stop moving goal post to fit your entitled ego. A spoiler is when a crucial, pivotal, and main plot point that shifts the balance of a story is exposed. Telling you lore facts about the game is not a spoiler. Everyone knew Johnny Silverhand was in the game. Learning that you have a chance to play as him for a short period of time is not a spoiler.....its basic information. You know books have had blurbs on the back of them for over 100 years right? The World of Cyberpunk book covers all this with no spoilers. Talks about the 4th corporate war (2022-2023) and important events leading up to 2070. A ton of world building like learning about gun culture in night city, weapon manufactures, cyberware, netrunning, brain dancing,police and gangs, different economic classes, and breaks down the sections of night city. It was the best $10 on Amazon I’ve spent and highly recommend this book.

I'm pretty confident that the game will cover the history so players understand how night city got to where it is, but if for some reason CDPR does not cover all the lore, this video could be helpful to other cyberpunk newbies.
