Its the way any spiritualy dedicated person figues things out their mind is quiet enough for God or compassion itself to break it down to them with experiences and examples. compassion and God legit start to just show you how it works when you buck up. This is how your priests have spiritual powers etc, you can only learn so much at the seminary where real knowledge and experience come from the every flowing mysticality of this reality which is Love God and compassion.
in the same way, you can look at something and deduct what it is spiritual advanced people can look at a person or something else and REALLY tell what it is. dreams also, visions. If you are aligned with Compassion the ultimate driver of this reality you will be driven by it. So shown next life in meditation for example shown to other monks etc. FOR COMPASSIONS SAKE. A quiet mind and a compassionate heart will quickly show you more advanced forms of karma...
