One thing I miss in the original that's missing in the definitive edition is that in san andreas each city and countryside had their own weather effect that makes them different from one another but in the definitive edition they all have the same weather but as for gta 3 I remember the city was dark and gritty but in the definitive edition it's just dark and doesn't have that gloomy look anymore, but as for vice city I like how the sky looks especially at sunset
the grit in the original gta 3 i feel was from its lack of vibrant color especially compared to vice city and sa. the remaster enhances the color among many other things… had gsg left the “grittiness” in people would be complaining
That's because the GSG developers didn't had a clue how to properly implement the timecycle.dat file from PS2 to the new unreal engine. If they did it correctly they would've preserved the original feel. Add draw distance fog and improving the character models is all the game needs. But it ain't gonna happen.
The best thing about it is that you can experience the old games on a new console. I just ordered it and I don't have to look for second hand games and a PS2.
Eventough the Definitive Edition has many downsights I personally enjoy it on its own way. Graphically is definetly a major improvement especially compared to the PS2 versions. It is great that these had 10th Anniversary (IOS & Android) version after 10 years of release. And 20 years after GTA 3. Damn, I can't believe how time flies!
Number 10 is the definitive edition is making people appreciate the originals a lot more. Even with the issues the originals had they were just better in almost every single way.
I still don’t understand why Rockstar palmed off their main cash cow game to an outside studio, worst decision ever. Also why didn’t they release each game individually on their 20th anniversary and then release GTA 6 in 2025 one year after San Andreas remastered dropped. This keeps people playing GTA from 2021 to 2025 and stops all the memes about being dead by the time they release another game while also allowing Rockstar more time between games to make sure any bugs/glitches/issues are fully fixed. They had an amazing opportunity with these definitive editions, and they blew it so badly.
I agree with your point about checkpoints: I find satisfaction in completing a mission in one go (especially if it’s hard) without any hand holding, but I understand those that dislike redoing the boring sections such as driving back. I think GTA 4’s fail mechanic did this the best by allowing you to instantly restart the mission, but from the very beginning. Also, #10 could be that there are more accessible options in the settings menu?
But if they had a mission replayability feature it would've been a cherry on top of the cake. I can always replay my favourite missions like Demolition man and Rub out in Vice City.
@@allstargaming2500 That feature would be awesome! Especially since GTA 5 and TBOGT have it. Even repeating side missions like Rampages would be cool too (VCS has this feature). I like doing the fun, chaotic, and engaging missions like Messing with the Man, A Drop in the Ocean, and Black Project.

But atleast you can take a look around you whenever you need and it is not entirely necessary to use it everywhere.
To be honest I love the originals and forbid myself on getting the trilogy but recently got it cause I missed playing gta 3 and vice city and to be honest the games do look way much more smoother and it’s nice playing it in better graphics. I actually got addicted to the game again. But my heart will still be with the og’s but I will say to people to just give it the game a shot. Game play is nice and it’s good to know about the story’s. Vice city’s sunsets and night time vibes really do look way much eye catching
For me the only great thing about the Definitive Edition is the GTA 5 style control scheme. But then on the originals on PC there's the GInput mod that lets me put a GTA 4 style control scheme. But the DE has the weapon wheel from GTA 5 which is very useful as you said.
Also in 3 and VC. You can replay the mission from the start after confirming a replay screen. LCS mobile doesn't have that and felt like the originals in that aspect. I think LCS mobile is by far the best mobile port Rockstar did. It has butter smooth gameplay and much better camera controls.
hey badi, i have a question, do you maybe have a website link where i could download GTA San Andreas, recently restarted my system, and i tried multiple sites but noone of them had audio files.
well i don't hear horning sounds, sounds when im driving a car and in the mission when lets say im driving i don't hear what they are saying, its making my game really "empty" if i can say so.
For me, definitely the winner feature of the definitive edition is the weapon wheel. Even though I remember the layout of weapons after I scroll through them, I just don’t want to scroll, and a weapon wheel is a perfect replacement.
In my personal opinion, the definitive with mods on pc just make it soo good, graphics mod, a reshade and fog fix just make it look amazing, and ue4 lets graphics mods look so much better than in the OGs
For number 10 for me at least i can point that gta 3 has a full map now in game without mods that was a big thing for me because i played gta 3 on ps4 with the ps2 port and it did not have full map and i did not use mods
Honestly looking at the DE just makes me sad.... i keep thinking about what would've been the best remaster of the century only to be messed up by a mobile game studio
We know there are flaws but im thankful they fixed framerate because running a 2011 port on my phone at 140 frames will literally kill me when i walk outside the portland savehouse
In the definitive trilogy. Only Vice City looks and plays the best. It got the right improvements. The graphics upgrade didn't look very off rather it made it more beautiful. But the only thing that holds it back is that it's a port from the mobile version. Which has some changes from the originals. And the bugs it has.
I can’t lie I do like how vice city looks with it’s nice colours and how the countryside looks in the definitive editions, but I can’t lie I do not like the camera on these definitive games. I don’t like how the camera auto adjusts itself to be central, especially in vehicles.

The ONLY way I could play this (as soon as I get the proper hardware), is if there are mods to completely rework the ENTIRE trilogy (not just textures and items/vehicles, but also props, terrain, effects, physics, scripts, and more). This has the advantage of being on UE4, so there are LOTS of games under this engine with HELLA INSANE graphics and physics! Otherwise, I'd stay with the originals.
