    I’m fascinated by how many shoes you must have to take with you for this sort of trip. How on earth do you do it? I’m guessing you don’t have a Mary poppins carpet bag or Hermiones magic purse.

    I've been binging your channel and was just thinking "ugh, this wasn't that long ago she was in Portland, I wish I hadn't moved up to Bellingham because then this could be a possibility" and at the end I just Gasped.... then screamed when you pulled out my favorite flavor of B&J....
    I'm no professional Dancer and it has been at least three years since I was in any sort of Ballet class..... but it has always been my happy place since I was very young. My dream is to be able to take ballet classes again someday and work up to pointe work....

    I don't dance. My orthopedist would have an aneurysm if I tried to start. I do wear a Euro 39K size shoe, and I could feel this video on my feet and toes. There is absolutely no feeling like switching to a shoe that fits, width-wise and length-wise and height-wise, after being in one that hasn't. Also, kudos to ballet for being a sport that has shoes that come in widths. Not many do. Almost none openly do.

    Eek when I started, I wore grishkos 4xxxxx (that's five x's lol) and that picture looks so familiar. I switched to gaynor minden's, and they were amazing! I don't remember all my size specs, lol i never really settled on my "perfect fit" in them (so much tweaking) but they've come out with so much more recently (I don't do ballet anymore), I bet one of the new options is probably my perfect fit lol I think my last pair I had were 7W sleek fits with a 4 box and the yellow bag shank.

    • @Jordan-nv6hb
      @Jordan-nv6hb 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanna try gaynors cause they do have the plastic shank and i have high arches so im wondering if that would save money because normally i go through pointe shoes every 6 months (i take one class per week) and i also have wide feet

      @@Jordan-nv6hb I killed a pair of grishkos in 3 weeks during a summer intensive 🤣 grishkos normally didn’t last me longer than a few months. The gaynors lasted me 6-9 months each.

  • @JessieBanana
    @JessieBanana 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Yeah when you have high profile feet, that seems to be the defining factor. There should be a dance shirt that says "Raise the crown, please!". I actually decided to buy a shoe off of eBay, just so I could try a smaller width affordably. None of my stores carry any of the Grishko's on the Fouetté last *sigh*. I can't tell if my feet are getting less wide (probably not), colder weather, if it's the change in what I'm using inside my shoe, or just my general preferences of liking to held snug. My guess is it's some combination of those.
    My feet are wide though, so I won't wear a smaller width if it's causing the shank to twist or my foot to sickle I can make the width I'm wearing work and I'd rather my shoes be a smidge wide than too narrow. I think when you aren't wearing much in your shoe you notice every mm and have favorites. I never knew what that meant until now, but some shoes are just better than others.

    For the first girl's new shoes, it doesn't look like it's bending to her arch. Is that because the shoes are new/still stiff, or because she doesn't have ribbons and elastic on them yet?

    Hi I watch your videos a lot! I have a question. I am taking 3 ballet classes a week and have been since I was 3. I moved studios and told them about my experience. My technique has improved a lot but why won’t my teachers put me on pointe yet?

    • @izzy6614
      @izzy6614 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A lot of the time teachers put students on pointe at the same time as everyone else even if you might have perfect technique or if you need to improve on it. It also comes down to how they do it because at my dance studio we get pointe a year after grade 2 at some students get on pointe before grade 2

    Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love.
    Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans
    . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom.
    If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction).
    He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place.
    He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it.
    He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way.
    Christ says in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
    - (AMPLIFIED version)
    NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus.
    If you have any questions let me know xx
    xxx

    I’m not finding these videos informative about point shoes. We never hear which show they started in or the ones they tried that didn’t fit or even the ones that worked that they actually bought. Just random feet in what could be any point shoe and brand. As someone with wide feet, I was hoping to hear about the brands. I’m very unsure why people enjoy these videos at this point, cause there’s no point without actual information.

      She tells us what to look for-shapes & sizes in terms of shanks, vamps, crowns, etc. These things aren't specific to brand, and she has a whole video explaining why she never names brands, boiling down to it being more dangerous than helpful. But I also have wide feet, so if you really are lost in terms of brands I would recommend looking into Russian Pointe and Grishko/Nikolay.
