@@krash2fast99 That is my favorite live concert of theirs, hands down (Central Park). I enjoy nothing more than putting that DVD on, grabbing my Taylor guitar (bought cuz that is what Dave played for a long time) and jam along with them. Cheers!
@@del_84 Yes he can. He can say whatever he likes, even if you don’t agree with it. Wtf do you mean “he can’t say that”?!? Because you say so, your royal highness? Who made you king of TH-cam?
@@del_84 My comment was directed at @rogueRxyce since she clearly appreciated Dave's voice and this song/rendition. With that information I felt confident enough to suggest listening to the rest of his catalog since, I believe, there are much better songs and live performances available. Like their music or not they are an amazing, talented live band to watch. One Love.
Dave Matthews is hands down one of the most intense, direct, raw lyricists in music's history. I often wonder if he's aware of his own power which is in a class of it's own among the greats. An exceptional writer, performer, vocalist, singer, instrumentalist. He's an all rounder and all all rounders have been known to be out of this world.
Dave absolutely paints like van gogh with words. It always made me laugh how in the 90s dave was an absolute sex symbol (i felt it too) despite the fact he sings with facial expressions like a man being hit by a taser while having violent gastric distress. But i think that is why he is so attractive - he puts absolutely 200% into his voice and emotional release while singing. You cant help but be touched deeply by someone like that
I love this. So many people dismiss Dave's music as just 'frat boy music" but there is so much substance that they miss. I am not a religious person but this song still speaks to me. That's what Dave can do.
THANK YOU 🙏🏼 I’m 30 and was basically raised on Dave. My 2 older sisters started bringing me to his shows when I was 11 and my oldest sister took her life the next year so it had always been very sentimental for my whole family and especially my other sister and I. Dave is an incredibly gifted lyricist and it’s truly a shame how he’s dismissed.
This was my Fathers favorite song by them. He passed a few years ago. Every time I hear this version, instant tears. There is so much emotion that’s impossible to describe.
Set him free yes. I want to melt into the ground and drift with the clouds and waves when I leave, and I want my muffler dragging on the pavement making sparks as my pile of smoke and leather makes its final trip around the Sun.
I am 42 and Dave has been a huge part of my life. The music of DMB allows me to center myself and feel things that I couldn't otherwise feel. Watching someone hear Dave for the very first time is absolutely incredible. Add another fan to our DMB family. Welcome!

Fantastic review of one of my favorite live shows.Tim Reynolds is amazing on the slide guitar and Dave sounds amazing in this beautiful venue!! I love this song, version, concert and you really teared me up with your reaction. Glad you enjoyed it.
That’s a slide that Tim has on that guitar neck. You need this whole concert, it’s brilliant from beginning to end! 3+ hours of pure musical glory. Dave and Tim Live at Radio City
I saw Dave Matthews band twice live in concert. Such a fabulous band of extremely talented musicians. Their playing is so raw from the heart...It's always a moving experience. I started welling up too in the beginning of the song.
What a beautiful soul you are, If only the world was filled with bright and shining auras such as your's.You seem like a friend. Great reaction, I felt the song through you. Bless your heart hon.
I've seen this performance a hundred times, and watching you react brought out every feeling that I had the first time! I'm so glad you felt something - that's what keeps me coming back!
I'm a grown, extremely rough edge 48 year old man. I've been through it and back and through it again. But when I see you cry, it makes me cry because you can 100% tell it comes from way down at the bottom. It's not some bullshit for views. So thanks for that.
This reaction made me quite emotional. Dave matthews has saved my life several times over the last 25 years. You should start by reading about Dave's history....where he came from ...his family...etc. then go back in time and start listening to his music. His music will suck you in and you will be a life long super fan. With Dave , you are either super fans or they general don't like his music. There is no in-between. It's like a club. Either you are in or you're out. Your life will be better for being in. I guarantee that every single person in the audience knew every single word of that song. He's that powerful. Dave is also a generous caring human ...very down to earth and grounded. He shines mostly when he has his big bang and they are all geniuses. Tim is a guitar genius. You can see Dave alone on tiny desk concert if you want to see him up close and personal. I hope you keep going and become a super fan.
100% agree with everything you said. It's not just a song or just a concert with Dave and the guys. Nothing more powerful than 30,000 ppl lifting our voices together !
I’m in this same boat. This man has pulled me up from the bottom and help me rise. So close to suicide yet something he said took the blade from my hands and brought me out into the light
Dave and Tim create magic, there’s something literally magical when they get together. Im not a crazy DMB fan but I am a huge Dave and Tim fan, I cried when I saw them in concert. And I think people are seriously missing out on not listening to them together.
This is exactly why they pour their hearts and souls into performing. So that we can feel just like you did in that moment when you first wiped your eyes. ❤
Yes !!! They make us feel so many emotions . The stories and wisdom and pure love pouring out on to the audience and we radiate it right back to them . It's not just a concert when you see them live in person or even live in your living room . No other singer songwriter or band really begins to compare.
Don’t mistake the felt effects as cause. I have to argue that the “this” you speak of, the reaction of the listener, is but an EFFECT of the performance, the motive for which, is simply authentic & personal, for Dave.. and as a result of exactly THAT, we feel it..& it resonates to the extent that we end up personalizing it. The gift of the artist is their authentic raw emotion that, by definition, must come from deep within. Bartender, please. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Come back if you can. There's an army of us here that need these reactions from you. If you can... we could really use it. If you can't, I understand, and God bless.
She's empath and the ironic thing is she might not even know it. When she feels emotions from a song or just a person face-to-face, she feels emotions extreme one way or the other
Awww....I love that you love this!! My sons and I, together, have been to more than 50 of his concerts all over the country. We've enjoyed traveling as a family to see his band. I would greatly recommend watching a live concert of perhaps 'Grey Street' or the first song I heard 'Ants Marching'. His drummer, Carter Beauford is my age (64) and is, IMHO, one of the best in the world.
I have seen Dave Matthews in concert several times, it's not just a show it's an experience! A range if emotions when you him live with his band. Incredible! Please react to more Dave, live videos are the best. Rapunzel is my favorite song from him.
Ahhhh I feel like I haven't been to a show in decades! It's hard to explain. People use to say "I can't believe you're going to another concert!!" In response...what concert? It's a show or to see DMB. Concert sounds so generic to me. Then there's the "OMG how many times can you go see the same band? Why go more than once?" WHY?!?! Not only was it 2 sets but for 25 yrs(at least) a different show a different set list...NEVER the same! I am a CHRISTIAN! Always have been. When I say it's like church i don't mean like Dave's a God. When you're waiting to go in especially Pit People we wait hours & hours. Heat or rain it doesn't matter bc we come prepared. Eat, drink & be merry take a nap start it all again yea that kinda wait. I don't socialize much bc my anxiety is ridiculous unless I'm dranking! The excitement we share!! You're almost giddy or we are. This comment is way too long!! We laugh we cry we dance & holy hell if it's your 1st show...life changing! You want to get railed of course if ur in Pit!!! You can hear all the chatter when he starts an intro guessing what it's gna be & when we figure out we go CRAZY!!!! OK this is dumb long. Sorry. Bathroom reading! 🐜🐖🐒✨🥃🍻🐐
I've seen DMB 8 times. I love them so much, I will go to a concert alone. It's a magical experience, to be sure. One concert a couple of guys brought an African exchange student with them and they sat in front of me. It was a beautiful thing to watch this person absolutely fall in love with this music. Dave is like a salve to soothe your soul that you didn't even know you needed....
First DMB show was about 20 years ago when I was in highschool. My most recent was a week and a half ago on my 35th birthday. Hopefully many more times to come!
I love Dave Matthews he has several songs that bring me to tears and have helped to cleanse my heart! I totally get what you are feeling. Funny, as much as I love his music, and I have purchased four of his records I have never been to one of his concerts. I have watched many of them online but the Radio City Music Hall looked like the ideal place to take in his music. I am going to put going to one of his concerts down on my bucket list for this year or 2024! Thanks for sharing!

4:10 my favorite album by Dave Matthews was crash in it's strange because tonight I heard the song Say Goodbye but I didn't know the lyrics I guess before so I didn't really hear the song before and it's kind of strange because one of my ex-girlfriends just recently passed away and throughout our whole life we were off and on sometimes one night here but going back to being friends and it's so strange you hear a song but then you hear a song and that was moving especially the album version of it it sounds amazing this whole week's been strange

Dave is to me the definition of living with your music in concert, he shares his heartbeat with his songs when he plays, he shares his breath with it, makes it a living entity, and just makes the notes dance with sweet freedom.
We were at that show , my daughter and I , this was one of the most incredible versions we ehave heard Dave and Timmy do live. Listen to a full band version , especially the one from Nissan pavilion after Roi died , that day of the show . Heartbreaking but beyond powerful
My wife and I have seen Dave & Tim in New Orleans, Jacksonville, Charleston and Riveria Maya (twice if your count February 2022) and I’ve never been more jealous. I would trade nearly anything to have been there…
This was like a religious experience. Such a great song! Thank you for sharing it. “Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the single candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”- Buddha
Some people feel the rain. The rest just get wet. I love how you feel the music. I’m pretty sure I had the opportunity to see these two in a small venue in a college town circa 1995 or so and like an idiot didn’t go.
Just subscribed! What an emotional reaction! Loved every second of it. I was at this show in 2007. I took a Greyhound up to NYC from DC for the concert. Came home after the show that night and taught middle school the next day. I was so tired, but it was so worth it. Bartender was and still is the best song of the night, IMO. I still get goosebumps every time I hear it. So mesmerizing!
This is such a pure reaction and your emotions are clearly a reflection of who you are as a person. I just came across this video, I've been listening to DMB since I was a college kid in the '90's, and I can absolutely appreciate your reaction to this song and Dave in general.
Yeah! So amazing to see this! Yeah, so Tim used to be in a family gospel band, many years ago- "The Reynolds Five". He was in a gospel band with his brother and sister, before ever meeting Dave.. but man.. he is of another world.. that Reynolds family.. out of this world. As people and musicians..
7:56 Tim Reynolds smiling. He’s so incredibly talented in his own right and has been playing with Dave for almost half his life but he genuinely recognizes Dave just did something magical in the previous 15 seconds.
One of my favorite moments is in the Vh1 storytellers of Tripping Billies when Tim is playing the main solo after the last verse and Dave shoots him this smirk because he recognizes just how crazy talented Tim is.
I love this. I love that you shared your experience listening to my favorite musician. Dave is a poet and his words live in my soul. Come join us on the summer tour. You will love it. You are a beautiful soul❤️
SOULISH OR SPIRITUAL? Verse 14 of 1st Corinthians says, "But a soulish man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and he is not able to know them because they are discerned spiritually." Soulish men are those who have not been regenerated By Holiness and who do not have a new spirit. They do not have an intuition; what they have is only the mind, emotion, and will of the soul. They can reason, judge logically, and express what they like, but they cannot "receive the things of the Spirit of God" because they do not have a regenerated spirit.
@@clarkkent3730 dude you took this comment way out of proportion. Your response has nothing to do with music and how music can have an impact in your life. Music has no religion.
Meet Dave again for the first time in about 20 years, still such a humble human being. I first saw DMB in the early 90’s when they were playing clubs in North Carolina, still knocks me for a loop every time.

Saw Dmb live tonight for about the 50th time . Tonight was one of the best shows I’ve EVER seen . So amazing, powerful , and moving !
Just drove from Upstate NY to CT to see these guys play FarmAid. They played this. I got 4 shows in this year. 🥰
🙌🏼
I’m in this same boat. This man has pulled me up from the bottom and help me rise. So close to suicide yet something he said took the blade from my hands and brought me out into the light
Dave and Tim create magic, there’s something literally magical when they get together. Im not a crazy DMB fan but I am a huge Dave and Tim fan, I cried when I saw them in concert. And I think people are seriously missing out on not listening to them together.
"Im not a crazy DMB fan but I am a huge Dave and Tim fan"
I believe this describes me pretty accurately now as well.
One hundred percent with your response.
@@crystalwest336 It's TRUE!!
Come back if you can. There's an army of us here that need these reactions from you. If you can... we could really use it. If you can't, I understand, and God bless.
She's empath and the ironic thing is she might not even know it. When she feels emotions from a song or just a person face-to-face, she feels emotions extreme one way or the other
Nah. Im not an empathetic person, yet i am always very moved by lots of songs.
MUSIC IS WHAT BONDS ALL COLORS TOGETHER!!! ONE LOVE!!!
PEACE
Awww....I love that you love this!! My sons and I, together, have been to more than 50 of his concerts all over the country. We've enjoyed traveling as a family to see his band. I would greatly recommend watching a live concert of perhaps 'Grey Street' or the first song I heard 'Ants Marching'. His drummer, Carter Beauford is my age (64) and is, IMHO, one of the best in the world.
YOU are fantastic. you are the reason that music is magic. please never change.
I have seen Dave Matthews in concert several times, it's not just a show it's an experience! A range if emotions when you him live with his band. Incredible! Please react to more Dave, live videos are the best. Rapunzel is my favorite song from him.
Saw him 5 times just this summer. An experience is correct
15 times for me DMB 1 D&T show...Like watching Michelangelo paint....Dave Matthews is a TRUE artist! And immensely humble...
You just made me weep. I’ve listened to this song 5,000 times. But your emotion moved me. Thank you for allowing us to watch this.
Absolutely incredible smdh 😢😢😢😢!!!!!!
never heard the song before 4 days ago, never heard of the artist.. now, can't stop playing . magnificent. this is music to warm the soul!. real music!.had me in tears too!..
This entire show was beyond surreal. My brother and I went and it was beyond a work of art. You felt it within your soul.
This is what true musical artistry looks and sounds like. Don't Drink the Water is also amazing.
Don't drink the water live is the most incredible thing to happen to me. It changed my entire way I've viewed and thought I had already knew. I was wrong. 💕💕✌💕💕
@@mitakuyeoaysin9652 I'm so sorry I missed this beautiful reply a year ago. I've only seen it now, stumbling back to this video for another viewing. The perception of Dave by many people is very confusing to me. His music seems to resonate with some, but not others. I'm glad it resonated with you.
Been a Dave fan since 1997. Seen more times than I can count. He’s one of a kind. Catch his show at the Gorge in Wa. before they stop touring. You will NOT regret it. ❤️
My wife and I went to the gorge. Great show
My second concert ever was DMB at red rocks
thank you so much for introducing me to this song. I felt it so powerfully. I appreciate you so much for your gentle soul and honest response
Listen to everything you can with these two together! Dave + Tim = 🌟MAGIC🌟
Girl, you are feeling Dave!!
I love how you’re able to feel the music so deeply, wether it be the voices, the lyrics or the instruments 🥰 You get lost in the sounds and are allowing your emotions to just be. Thank you for sharing 🙏
ive seen dave play 15 times. to you see you come tears that fast warmed my heart . i started as a dave fan 1t 16 and im 40 now i still love there music as it was day 1 . if you havent seen them live you should treat yourself to exciting beautiful moment you wont regret it ..
Dave is to me the definition of living with your music in concert, he shares his heartbeat with his songs when he plays, he shares his breath with it, makes it a living entity, and just makes the notes dance with sweet freedom.
Your reactions fill my heart 🙏🏻
We were at that show , my daughter and I , this was one of the most incredible versions we ehave heard Dave and Timmy do live. Listen to a full band version , especially the one from Nissan pavilion after Roi died , that day of the show . Heartbreaking but beyond powerful
My wife and I have seen Dave & Tim in New Orleans, Jacksonville, Charleston and Riveria Maya (twice if your count February 2022) and I’ve never been more jealous. I would trade nearly anything to have been there…
Staples Center is where that “Bartender” was played after Roi died. 😢
@@AmericanEnglishBrent oh my bad ! Yes Staples , it was on Live Trax 2008 , yeah ? Thanks for correction . That version always rips me up .
@@leahdickinson3813 I totally agree.
I was at The Nissan show that was LeRoi’s last. It was an incredible show.
Wow when she said its ok,broke me down omg
This was like a religious experience. Such a great song! Thank you for sharing it.

Oh how much I have loved this very performance - and watching it in your company brings tears to my eyes - he is SO INTENSE!
Some people feel the rain. The rest just get wet.
I love how you feel the music.
I’m pretty sure I had the opportunity to see these two in a small venue in a college town circa 1995 or so and like an idiot didn’t go.
oh how beautifully said! I'm stealing that!! :D
This is why I’ve seen Dave 14 times and counting.
Girl you're making me cry at work and Ive heard this song a million times. Its amazing.
So thrilled to see someone reacting to Dave Matthews Band. I love this tune.
I love how deeply you feel things and feel about things. It’s beautiful to watch. And you’re beautiful. 🤗❤️
This whole concert is amazing. Highly recommend the blu-ray, such a great show!
This is such a pure reaction and your emotions are clearly a reflection of who you are as a person. I just came across this video, I've been listening to DMB since I was a college kid in the '90's, and I can absolutely appreciate your reaction to this song and Dave in general.
DMB opened their SPAC setlist last night with this song and I saw more that one person sobbing in the crowd. That's how good they are.
I’ve been to SPAC for DMB plenty and the crowd there is basically one person. One of the best and most beautiful places you’ll go.
And her right after is something everyone who has never listened to Dave before live will say, "what did he just say?" Not even he knows, babe.
@@dewarmcnamara haha. 💯 percent accurate!
Rogue, thank you for the extremity of depth of your humanness...it is an honor to watch, to feel your emotion...
That is exactly what his music does to me every time!! It’s even more powerful in person!!! Love him..and Tim!! Can’t wait to see them live again!!
thats one thing i love about dave matthews. you can feel his music so deep in your soul.
SOULISH OR SPIRITUAL?
Verse 14 of 1st Corinthians says, "But a soulish man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and he is not able to know them because they are discerned spiritually."
Soulish men are those who have not been regenerated By Holiness and who do not have a new spirit.
Go see them live for the full experience. You will feel every emotion. They are amazing live!
As I listen to the music I grew up on and watch you hear and appreciate it for the first time, I am moved. You have a deep soul that moves you into the song. Thank you for you.
Your beautiful soul shines so bright! I love your reactions. And I highly recommend seeing DMB live. Amazing!!!
A live DMB show is my church. Period.
I have seen Dave lives so many times he is so powerful in concert. Her reaction was pure and simply beautiful🙏🏽
Dave Matthews has the biggest following in the world. Look it up.
What a great performance, wow. I've had the pleasure of see dmb twice and this was not the version that I seen. This was really cool. Some heartfelt stuff. What a great sole you must have. Love your reactions
I am 63 years old and I am crying watching you crying at Music it’s so lovely ❤
Dave is a poet, story teller, teacher, a musician and so much more. When you act out your own art in such a theatrical performance, there's more to what you are than you know yourself, because you may never know how your performance effected so many others in so many different ways.
I have watched this many times and I too cry. It's just so beautiful.
