As a Seahawks fan, my knee-jerk reaction had always been to defend Russ when he got called out for being corny. I don't hate him because he left my team, (always be thankful for his contribution to a decade of winning) but it is a relief to take off the blinders to his corniness.
Yeah Russ is great and it sucked to see him go, but he's always definitely been corny and even superficial at times these last few seasons.

As a Seahawks fan, I can confirm that Russ made "Go Hawks" iconic. Obviously he wasn't the first to say it, but it became synonymous with him because he said it at the end of literally every press conference he ever had.

My Hawks gave up a championship team to keep this guy around and he didn’t mind taking the money and leaving the team depleted.
