I live in the Seattle area, and have been watching Seattle games because my parents are fans. I was also subjected to watching the 5th Quarter and all the pre game shows. Russell changed when he met/married Ciara. It’s that simple. She brought her show biz lifestyle into the equation, & there was an immediate change in Russ. Fans in Seattle noticed right away. It wasn’t the popular thing to say. But it’s true.
I think the funniest part of the whole Russell Wilson situation is that one of the main reasons he wanted out of Seattle is because they wouldn't get him an o-line and then the first draft after he's gone, they take a left tackle in the first round lol
Dude and let's not forget Wilson went through 3 offensive coordinators, and he was taking nearly a fifth of the budget... Ofc the team isn't gonna have the resources to even out when nearly a 1/5th of it is going to 1 dude...
Can you imagine pat hearing that teammates couldn’t get ahold of the qb? When he was teammates with one of the greatest qbs, that didn’t need to talk to the punter? Ya Russ deserves some of the talk he’s getting
Exactly. Peyton Manning out here giving his cell number to special teams and Russ can’t even talk to his RUNNING BACK. Ok buddy get off your high horse and join your team.
Remember seeing after sb 49 manning coming up to Sherman after the game asking him if he was OK cause he knew Richard was little bangedup . Thought that was total class.
As a Seahawks fan it feels like non-regional media is just finally clueing in to what has been going on here for a while. After the LOB was traded away we have struggled as a team. Russ was incredibly inconsistent. At first he struggled 1st quarter and then played the other three. Then he struggled the first half and would pop up in the second. Then he would waffle around for 3 quarters and then start playing in the 4th. Finally it got to the point where you could just tell it wasn't in him anymore we were gonna lose.
That's because at the end of the game he just starts running and you can't touch him without a penalty. End of 4th quarter he becomes the untouchable running back.
Chancellor retired, Sherman was released and Thomas contract ended. Nobody from the LOB was traded. The rest I agree with. He was missing wide open recievers in Seattle the last 2 years, he is always looking for the "big play" and doesn't follow the proper progression of the plays or taking the open 10 or so yards in front of him.
@@CraftedAITech I'll admit a lot of people have jumped on the Russ-hate bandwagon, but there was still a large minority of Seahawk fans (about one in 5) who said Russ wasn't the guy and were derided for it mercilessly for those 2 years of "Let Russ Cook!" BS. Frankly, it's kind of like Broncos fans now, who were all "Broncos country -- let's RIDE" nut-riders at the beginning of this season and are now fully in the "Bench Russ NOW" community. So, I dunno.... You can't just automatically dismiss someone just because they're late to realize a trend. Be glad they've finally gotten on the bus, maybe.
Russ has gotten complacent. Paying him before the season even started was a terrible blunder on Broncos part. Russ is a celebrity in his own mind. Glaringly obvious
Few questions: first, do you think Russel gets traded to a team that doesn't immediately sign him to a deal? Second, have you ever heard of a multi pro bowl and multi Superbowl appearing ( with a. I wasn't upset here in Seattle. I thought a change would be good for him (and for the players in Seattle that were soured on his prima donna personality). As a Seahawks fan I have hated Russell Wilson every since he made the worst decision in NFL history forcing the ball at the one yard line in the Super Bowl, because he did not want to be overshadowed by Marshawn Lynch.
On another occasion, I was in Seattle in August 2017 and one guy in the office I was in, who was a big sports guy, said that Russel showed up for an hour and a half of practice and then left.
It started to go that direction because the team went in the direction of investing/paying russell and not the defense. Last 3-5 years has been ‘let rus cook’ and whered it get us?
@@robertcurtislorenzenjr7153 exactly 💯 well said. I was guilty of screaming LET Russ Cook too 😔. Now I see the reasons Pete had such a head strong approach to the running game. Russ reminds me of Brett Farve in a lot of ways. He makes amazing plays just to screw it up with massive bone head mistakes. Like throwing it right to the defender bc he sucks at reading the coverage and the routes. He says all the right things and he pretends to be this football is everything to hime. That he is the 1st one in and the last one out but something tells me that isn't the case. He's more worried about endorsements, selling subway sandwiches, his fashion store, his signature football which is a lawsuit waiting. @@erickvaldez9563 we arent saying he was never any good...im just sayin he always struggled with similar issues. He has always had issues inside the redzone and throwing over the middle of the field. Because he was a hall of fame caliber player. What's happening in Denver isn't solely on him but he needs to figure it out. Besides that. Pete Carroll 💁♂️ the man is a genius.
I think there is a good way and a bad way to ask someone to reach out to your team to set something up. With how crazy some people’s schedules are it would be near impossible for them to perfectly run their own calendar, but there’s a way to do it so it’s not disrespectful

@@TanNguyen510 maybe if we’re talking about a practice squad guy, but for an nfl starting QB they have business ventures, charitable work, TV ads, a family and obligations to their team. I guarantee that most their schedules are 90% full between 8am and 8pm
I'm curious if Sherman's story about reaching out to Russell and having to go through his team was recently while Russ was in Denver and they hadn't been teammates in a while or while they were in Seattle together.
Remember when russel was pissed off at the Super Bowl Brady was playing in Russell wanted protection Then they mentioned he scrambled so much offensive linemen couldn’t block for 10 second
Yup. People quote sack stats like they're the sole responsibility of the O-line. Wrong. Look at Wilson's time-to-throw stat. Consistently, it has been one of the worst in the league, year after year. Why? In my opinion, Homie holds the ball too damn long, running around, doing that whole "Let Russ Cook!" BS. That dancing around works okay when you have a decent O-line with good chemistry (both with their QB and each other) that knows how the QB likes to scramble and who can hold a block for longer than 2.5 seconds while improvising position. I think Russ's "cooking" is just getting exposed by a line that doesn't understand he likes to change plays on the fly, run around the pocket for 5 seconds, and generally just hold the ball for way too long.
Pete Carroll is a sneaky guy…I would’ve been suspicious of him wanting to get rid of Russell Wilson. I live in Denver and Russell and Hackett are being hammered on our sports radio stations!
Of course Carroll is shady. He bolted from USC a couple months before the scandal broke, and this is after years of him saying he'd never leave college for the NFL. Carroll let USC bleed to death while he got off scot-free. However, the "get rid of Wilson" thing has merit. The team had to rebuild. There was no conceivable way Wilson would've wanted to stay around for that. Also, as the head coach, he saw or knew something the public didn't, as far as talent evaluation goes. Remember in 2015, Brock Osweiler started a couple games for Denver while Peyton struggled. Everyone assumed this was the first sign that Osweiler was the franchise QB after Manning. Then Denver let Osweiler walk and after watching him struggle in Houston, it became evident why.
As a lifelong rams fan, I feel russ deserves this. You can be a “Rah-Rah” guy while still feeling genuine. All that “we’re trying to go 1-0 every week” always felt fake so none of this is shocking.

Russell Wilson is too busy being a Hollywood guy instead of a NFL Quarterback. Every since he married Ciara his football acumen went downhill. I don't know if he can recover. Shout out to Marshawn Lynch for being the definition of a real former teammate
This has always been wilson, the two biggest weapons a qb can have are an elite defense and running game and he had both, its just the medias obsession with the individual always isolates the qb for the praise or criticism. However Sherman is also a snake, the level of enjoyment he takes from all this is very telling about his own ego and character.
Sherman being a snake has never bern a surprise. He hates Jim Harbaugh, his college coach. He resents Carroll for not giving the ball to Lynch in Super Bowl 49. Hell, he even had that whole "Crabtree is sorry" speech after the 2013 NFC Championship Game. Sherman has always been that, and I say that even as a 49ers fan. Even though it was evident he was the veteran presence for the 49ers in 2018, Sherman has always been like this.

I find it interesting that only when Wilson is having a bad year do all the haters come out of the woodwork. When he was quarterbacking the Seahawks to two straight Super Bowl appearances (one of which they won), no one seemed to have issues with his 'leadership'. Way to kick a guy when he's down.
The whole point is that the haters aren’t coming out, it’s been here for years but Carrol is the goat so that talk couldn’t get far. Russell himself is no goat, he did make the Seahawks good that was Carrol, their run game, and their defense. Now that he left those things his true colors are showing and they are gross haha
@@nathanmalki2045: The Seahawks were 7-9 with Lynch and the LOB before Russell Wilson was drafted to Seattle. Seattle's run started when he joined the team (went 11-5, 1-1 in the playoffs), not when Lynch joined the team 2 seasons before (another 7-9 season), or the LOB the season before Russell joined. Russell Wilson was a big part of that Seahawks run game. His duel threat capability made defenses have to respect his ablity to run, which means they couldn't all key in on Lynch. Lynch's best years were with Russell at QB. Seattle continued to win double digit games nearly every season even after Lynch left and still continued to do so after the LOB broke up and the Seahawks defense went from GOAT status, to average (starting in 2016), to piss-poor (2019). It was Russell carrying the Seahawks more than the running game and defense post LOB era and the Seahawks would probably not sniff .500 in any of those years had they not had Russell. The running game and defense left Russell way before he left them. Pete Carroll is no GOAT. Not even close.
Russell is doing inexplicably bad, and is by no means above criticism. His contract is easily highway robbery and I feel bad for Broncos fans stuck with him. Russell changed when he met/married Ciara. It’s that simple. She brought her show biz lifestyle into the equation, & there was an immediate change in Russ. Fans in Seattle noticed right away. It wasn’t the popular thing to say. But it’s true.
Ciara yoko ono, yeah she changed him, went from humble man of god to red carpet tik tok cringe.

I think the funniest part of the whole Russell Wilson situation is that one of the main reasons he wanted out of Seattle is because they wouldn't get him an o-line and then the first draft after he's gone, they take a left tackle in the first round lol
And cross and Lucas have been amazing
Dude and let's not forget Wilson went through 3 offensive coordinators, and he was taking nearly a fifth of the budget... Ofc the team isn't gonna have the resources to even out when nearly a 1/5th of it is going to 1 dude...

Exactly. Peyton Manning out here giving his cell number to special teams and Russ can’t even talk to his RUNNING BACK. Ok buddy get off your high horse and join your team.

Finally it got to the point where you could just tell it wasn't in him anymore we were gonna lose.
pff don't act like you all weren't chanting "LeT rUsS CoOk!11" 2 years ago.
This is a lie
That's because at the end of the game he just starts running and you can't touch him without a penalty. End of 4th quarter he becomes the untouchable running back.
Chancellor retired, Sherman was released and Thomas contract ended. Nobody from the LOB was traded. The rest I agree with. He was missing wide open recievers in Seattle the last 2 years, he is always looking for the "big play" and doesn't follow the proper progression of the plays or taking the open 10 or so yards in front of him.
@@CraftedAITech I'll admit a lot of people have jumped on the Russ-hate bandwagon, but there was still a large minority of Seahawk fans (about one in 5) who said Russ wasn't the guy and were derided for it mercilessly for those 2 years of "Let Russ Cook!" I love how Pat said he won't talk to someone ever again if they send you to a booker after talking to them directly. That's awesome!
He says all the right things and he pretends to be this football is everything to hime. That he is the 1st one in and the last one out but something tells me that isn't the case.

Remember when russel was pissed off at the Super Bowl Brady was playing in
Russell wanted protection
Then they mentioned he scrambled so much offensive linemen couldn’t block for 10 second
Definitely can't trust carrol lmfao

Russell Wilson was a big part of that Seahawks run game. His duel threat capability made defenses have to respect his ablity to run, which means they couldn't all key in on Lynch. Seattle continued to win double digit games nearly every season even after Lynch left and still continued to do so after the LOB broke up and the Seahawks defense went from GOAT status, to average (starting in 2016), to piss-poor (2019).
