Back in the 15th century Ireland only had one TV channel and it was terrestrial. Wire aerials were highly sought after.

Hi Carol and Ken i have watched all your trips around Ireland ,You have even thought a native quite a lot about my own country and some places to still go and see i travel the west coast a lot ,solo ,doing photography , but took great interest in your last day in Ireland and the story of the rosslare life boat , and the mexico ,my grandfather Captain Lar busher and master of the tug Wexford towed the fort lifeboat and crew to the keeraghs and stood by for the duration of the rescue. the entire crew of the feathard lifeboat were lost in an attempt in the rescue On 20 February 1914, love all your story's of your travels ,if you dont mind , i have adopted your motto ,life is too short for my online strave cycling platform .i wish ye luck and good health and many more years of travelling J.B

I live in the North West and have travelled the length and breadth of this country and been to many of the spots you went too. Its really put me in the notion of getting a wee campervan for Judy dog and me and getting back out next year and do some travelling around the Emerald Ilse again. I've sailed and riden my motorcycle around the South West of Ireland and just love it. The locals are so nice and helpful nomater what problem you have. As for the weather its much the same as Wales which is my home so im used to it being on and off.
Biggest pain is the ferry especially since they stopped the Swansea to Cork ferry. Any stay safe both and keep doing the videos

Not strictly true. Those aerials are called MMDS antennas. They are mostly used to receive multi-channel tv reception from a remote broadcasting tower but can also be used to receive broadband.

Co.Wexford ,where I'm watching your great videos, were planning on our first campervan (hire) trip next month around north and north west Ireland, that's how we found your videos. Loved them ,thank you for information and scenery and advice. 😊.
Enjoy that hire and do try a couple of wild camps to see and feel the difference between campsites and wild 👍
Yes those square things that you see on house's are usually television aerials mostly phased out now.

Hi I have just finished the last episode on the Ireland vlogs,
I have really enjoyed them, I think your film making is 1st class, love the drone shots they make the videos very professional.
I think my favourite place you visited was Cobh, but there are so many fantastic beaches aswell.
I love watching what you have to eat for your dinners, it hard to believe that a lot of them are made in only one pan.
Keep up the good work, both of you look forward to seeing more tours, when travel starts again.

The square aerials are a form of cable TV used all over Ireland but mostly changed to online TV or sky, most people just leave them and the old analogue aerials up

Your drone footage is better than mine but I am learning from watching your films Rod. I love seeing how people push them to their limits. Lockdowns everywhere now so it will be interesting seeing how it all pans out. Fingers crossed it’s not going to be as bad as the MSM are whipping it up to be at the moment. Whenever I see them use the word COVID in a story I switch off. 👍
Good Morning All, this beautiful sculpture Kindred Spirits in Midleton, Co. Cork created by Cork artist Alex Pentek was erected to commemorate the generosity of a Native American tribe towards the people of Ireland at the height of the Great Famine.
On Native American Day we remember the generosity of The Choctaw nation who raised $170 in 1847 which would now be worth tens of thousands of dollars to aid those starving in Ireland during the Great Famine. #NativeAmericanDay #ChoctawNation #GreatFamine
