hope they cancel all together internationally. they don't realise how much trouble they are putting their candidates in. our ignorant governments only care about the local board for which it has reduced the syllabus to half. this is why they are not gonna cancel exams as they think all students have been compensated for their loss of education. they are too ignorant to realise that us cambridge students are at a severe disadvantage both nationally and internationally.
I think in the worst case scenario let's say exams go ahead they should reduce the syllabus. AS level is enough. no one that I know of has covered whole A2 syllabus.
Ameen the 3rd wave of coronavirus really hit us hard. In my local area a person died because of the virus and still my academy still open. Lets hope they cancel it as of today 3450 cases came and 61 people died
The primary concern we can do right currently is get joined together and fight for our privileges. In a real sense this is our last opportunity to get exams dropped else we will be soo distressed and most probably most if the students can not deal with this pressing factor as this may demolish their future! My family has suffered of covid like seriously suffered, to the point that my parent are starting to get scared of even stepping outside. I went through many depressing moments at these hard times. But above it all exams arent even cancelled. Are cambridge Inhumane
I suggest we call talk radio UK radio station and ask them to call the education secretary and Cambridge international on their show and explain this ridiculous situation. There are innumerable issues that are not being highlighted because ethos is an international issue and Cambridge international is able to get away without scrutiny. It's really strange in uae we still aren't sure if Cambridge exams are going on but it's so so hard the online learning isn't effective enough I have my mocks ict mocks on Sunday hopefully the main board exam is cancelled

We students in sultanate of OMAN🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲 are in a real mess , with mocks after two weeks and incomplete syllabus . In fact , we are left with more than 4 INCOMPLETE CHAPTERS in BIOLOGY!!!, and rushing to finish the syllabus for other subjects ,,and there is a gap of one week between the end of the mocks and the start of igcse’s so logically it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to complete the chapter in time for the exams! So are we expected to sit for exams with four chapters that we didn’t learn????!!!!. More over , how are we supposed to sit for alternative to practical paper exams when we didn’t even do any practicals this year?! . In addition, corona cases are increasing day by day in OMAN so that increases the danger of being exposed to the virus. This situation resulted in alot of pressure and anxiety to the students , it also affects our mental health negatively . In a nutshell all the reasons leads to one solution which is cancelling exams as it is impossible for the syllabus to be reduced now ! So please hear the voices of students and cancel the IGCSE exams in OMAN 🇴🇲🇴🇲 and all the international countries , as this seems the only logical solution. Hey Amin I also request you to bring some attention to Saudi Arabia we couldn't go to school since March 2020.For some subjects it has been hard and difficult coping online.I simply couldn't understand half of the things online and we haven't even finished the entire course for Business Studies and I can't do business studies without having a teacher face to face and same goes for english

Pakistan’s government has said no one will pass without the examinations, so our local boards are hosting their exams and I think the government is against canceling ANY sort of exams in Pakistan, no matter how hard we try.

If Edexcel has canceled and oxford Aqa then it's gonna be unfair our schools had been closed since March of 2020 and nothing has been done since. Exams do have to be canceled. SIR, like for Kenya our cases went nearly low to a hundred but recently a week ago it raised to 278 positive cases 2 days later, news were like it raised to 800 positive cases. Local board of pakistan again extend the matric and intermediate exams date from 4May to 27 May in punjab but they still ignoring the cambridge student shame!
In Mauritius, a lockdown is going on but still CIE May/June series will be held. Next week the first papers are starting and students will have to go and sit for those exams. The government has announced that CIE exams will not be cancelled in Mauritius.

Hey.. I am a student studying in the UAE. The thing is most of the schools here don’t do igcse but edexcel, that’s y the number of students protesting are not that much. In addition to that, although the students want the exams to cancel, idk y they aren’t tweeting neither doing anything else to make it happen. But please do include UAE. Schools have been closed since March 2020 and they open for some days and then close again. Global cancellation is all we r hoping for. #cancelcie2021

Hello Im an A level student from the UAE. Including my school, Around 5 other schools have found a positive case on the first day the schools were reopened for mocks (that I know of). This happened like 3 or 4 times. And 2 of these schools still continued to have mocks in school ignoring the obvious risk. This is happening right now and exams is just roughly a month away. Theres still gonna be a high risk during the exams. What happens if schools find several positive cases during the exams?? Now thats something neither the cambridge board or the government can do anything about. incase of that issue, nothing is being told to the students. So its just (hit and hope) from cambridge's point of view. And remember last year they said in their own words, "We will only run one system". Absolute nonsense, I mean cmon..
It’s a mess in UAE, especially dubai. I go to school but they keep switching to online for one whole month and then open physical school again. Our school also had many cases in our year but they either send that class or specific student back home and keep the rest which doesn’t seem right to me at all. However, English language is my only Cambridge exam so I don’t mind giving it eitherway.
In abudhabi it's worse I didn't go to school sense the last year I went only for mocks....yes they made it optional to go to school or not but the covid cases are high so it's better not to go. additionally, the primary students are the one who attended in my school no secondary student attended .

It's true. UAE schools are super weird. In fact they make the students choose either face to face or online, but not all is allowed to be face to face, neither all can be online
im in KSA and we have barely just finsihed our syllabuses (in a rushed form) in some subects, we havent even had any revisions and we are supposed to take mocks including the full syllabus in one week
@urakmhm I've many cases like this all over - what really concerns me is CIE say schools/governments can decide but the way schools are obeying to this it's almost like they are held hostage under CIE
Mauritius also is a developing countries many family are struggling due to covid some don't even have food and they still maintaining a level. That's so not considerate to people that are struggling these are the student that need it the most!

The problem is they take our exam money and then cancel the exams....on top of that the on and off hybrid school system has made it so hard to study at the pace required to get good grades. Some people have coped and still think it’s a good idea to give exams but every time someone tells me there has been another death in their family due to COVID I realize that Cambridge should really understand how difficult times have become and cancel exams overall. Schools in Pakistan again got closed just 1 month before CIEs....we were even giving our mocks and the government announced that the schools have only 3 days to take any mocks or postpone them

I live in Morocco and the Cambridge exam here isn’t very known and in my school we’re literally less than 20 Cambridge students so I don’t think that we can do anything about it cause they won’t listen to us, even though we’re going to school, we have less hours now like we only have two sessions of business a week and we still didn’t even start pastpapers which we were supposed to start this month, it’s very hard for us to finish the curriculum on time especially that our teachers are new and not really qualified. If you have any idea of what we can do to cancel the exams please respond to my comment.
In addition to that, our school just got certified by Cambridge last year which means that it’s still new to the whole system and this proves that the teachers aren’t well qualified to finish the whole curriculum in two classes a week. We're doing all we can here in Cyprus to get them cancelled. Despite not being in school for around 3 months in this lockdown alone, they still haven't cancelled exams in Cyprus. Yes, this is true. We haven't been to school since March of 2020, especially schools here in Colombo, and yet the government is letting Cambridge exams to go ahead, believing that online learning has been just as productive as physical classes. We weren't even able to have proper exams physically in school to help evaluate our performance. This has become of immense concern to us.

Following the UK cancellation of alevels in 2021, international students are at an unfair disadvantage as their UK peers have cancelled their ALevels and IGCSE. There may be a high risk of inflated grades based on Teacher Assessed Grades, while us international students are left to write the exam. This will leave us an a disadvantage as we are also competing to enter universities also in the UK and UK students will have it easy as they sit back and relax with their biased teachers grades. CIE said that although they won’t give us an advance notice of topics or reduce our syllabus content , they will make sure grading is aligned with the Uk grading system but now, their exams are totally cancelled. This means it can no longer be possible for this to work. There are also some UK students in private schools that write IGCSE rather than GCSE. Surely, if the UK government announces a lockdown and the closure of all schools, as well as exams to be cancelled , who is CIE or Pearson Edexcel to decide otherwise? They are simply profit motivated and are ignoring many opinions as many people share our interest of cancelling the exams since it will be unfair. In addition to the inequality in grades, CIE & Edexcel are not taking into consideration the state of students' mental health, difficulty of access to online resources, attention disorders, and overall motivation to fully grasp the material taught in this 2 year period. While having been in quarantine and undergoing online learning since Feb/March 2020, many students are faced with the challenge of fully understanding the curriculum whether due to technical difficulties, an incredible decline in the teaching quality, or the mental state of students. Online learning has imposed a large variety of issues in a student's daily life, and it would be extremely unfair for CIE & Edexcel to not provide the same treatment to UK students and international students by grading us the same way. We understand that COVID-19 cases vary from country to country, but we must address other issues regarding the fairness and comparability of this 'standardised' testing, student's mental health, education inequality, and the risk of being exposed to the virus. We ask for CIE & Edexcel to not act upon discrimination and provide the same treatment to their UK and international students by using the same teacher assessments grades for IGCSE and international A Levels for the May/June 2021 session as a 'student friendly board'. There is a complete lack of judgement from the the exam boards, as they have cancelled exams for UK students, who will enter University most likely based on predicted grades and mock results, which are said to be wrong 4 out of every 5 times, and won't have to sit those exams International students will sit as long as quarantine restrictions are lessened by then, which due to the absence from school and quarantines, puts them in a disadvantageous position. International students are expected to prepare for their exams from home with very basic support and reduced online learning, in the best of cases. Many Intl. students will attempt to enter UK universities, and now have an uphill battle against students who, due to not having to sit exams will in most cases be awarded grades they would not necessarily get if they were to sit exams, and as such it puts International students at a competitive disadvantage. We, IAL students around the world, are pleading to the UK government to reconsider their decision and make the same call they have for the UK students, as to preserve the interest of students and maintain equal treatment internationally.
But honestly I feel if exam are cancelled our school will give us less grades through predicted grades but maybe in exam we have time and we can study in a more better way and get a chance for a more better score if the exam take place. I am not actually sure what is going on just a opinion because including me we all want the best score for our self please give your opinions.

Listen, i think this is a terrible idea. In my case, im a student studying in Mumbai, India. I have already given my AS final exams in the feb march sessions which went amazingly. Personally, im one of the stronger students in our class and I can tell you that giving physical exams is the only way to keep it fair. I know that in the previous batch many weak students were unfairly grade boosted. Average students got proper grades and stronger students got stiffed with A*, A, B grades when in reality they would have gotten all A* with 100 percentage uniform marks. I personally am also giving 9231 Further mathematics which is only available in june and November.
So in my case, if may june gets cancelled, I will have no way of showing universities that I am truly skilled in mathematics as I am studying the subject on my own (private candidates often get terribly lowered grades) and by the time November results come out i will have already applied to all of my unis who will judge my ability unfairly.

@@ateamacad Its super cool how you are replying to the comments even days after the video release. You're right the decision is different for international vs UK. It will lead to disparity as some UK kids who will get teacher assessed grades may get inflated grades unfairly and may beat out some international kids and some UK kids may get stiffed and get lowered grades compared to their international equivalent. But I do not believe the solution to such a scenario is to simply shoot ourselves in the foot and also get stuck with teacher assessed grades for all. If someone is finding it hard to give physical exams during covid, CAIE is offering the chance to get predicted grades or even dropping off some components. I believe that it is unfair too, but cancelling physical exams for everyone makes it even more unfair in my eyes. Teacher assessed grades tend to benefit weaker students and hamper stronger students. And as someone who has put in a lot of efforts for their subjects along with probably the majority of A Level students, this would just be more unfair to the people who are genuinely trying and are not simply looking to get an easy grade by sucking up to their teachers in the last week and hoping for a cancelation. A solution that I think is viable is convincing universities to regard/judge students who gave physical exams as those with accurate and fair grades and those with teacher assessed grades with a grain of salt or maybe even get an extra supplement on why they chose to not give exams (only if they were an international student). TLDR: the UK govt really screwed it up for other countries' students too lol.
I have a question if the exams are inshallah cancelled will they be prostponded or replaced by TAG/CAG? And if it was replaced by TAG the teacher will have the right to either take the grades from the mocks or the assignments right?

Hey I just saw the update of Cambridge of 18 March, they did not cancel. It just spoke about: "Register for our exams officer webinars" and "Carrying forward June 2021 Cambridge International AS Level results to a future series". Nothing about the exams, so disappointing!!
If your national exams have been cancelled, Cambridge exams will get cancelled too. This is what Cambridge has said. Try to bring this case to your school.

hope they cancel all together internationally. they don't realise how much trouble they are putting their candidates in. our ignorant governments only care about the local board for which it has reduced the syllabus to half. this is why they are not gonna cancel exams as they think all students have been compensated for their loss of education. they are too ignorant to realise that us cambridge students are at a severe disadvantage both nationally and internationally.
I think in the worst case scenario let's say exams go ahead they should reduce the syllabus. AS level is enough. no one that I know of has covered whole A2 syllabus.
Ameen the 3rd wave of coronavirus really hit us hard. In my local area a person died because of the virus and still my academy still open. Lets hope they cancel it as of today 3450 cases came and 61 people died

We students in sultanate of OMAN🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲 are in a real mess , with mocks after two weeks and incomplete syllabus . In fact , we are left with more than 4 INCOMPLETE CHAPTERS in BIOLOGY!!!, and rushing to finish the syllabus for other subjects ,,and there is a gap of one week between the end of the mocks and the start of igcse’s so logically it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to complete the chapter in time for the exams! So are we expected to sit for exams with four chapters that we didn’t learn????!!!!. More over , how are we supposed to sit for alternative to practical paper exams when we didn’t even do any practicals this year?! . In addition, corona cases are increasing day by day in OMAN so that increases the danger of being exposed to the virus. This situation resulted in alot of pressure and anxiety to the students , it also affects our mental health negatively . In a nutshell all the reasons leads to one solution which is cancelling exams as it is impossible for the syllabus to be reduced now ! So please hear the voices of students and cancel the IGCSE exams in OMAN 🇴🇲🇴🇲 and all the international countries , as this seems the only logical solution.

In Mauritius, a lockdown is going on but still CIE May/June series will be held. Next week the first papers are starting and students will have to go and sit for those exams. The government has announced that CIE exams will not be cancelled in Mauritius.

Hey.. I am a student studying in the UAE. The thing is most of the schools here don’t do igcse but edexcel, that’s y the number of students protesting are not that much. In addition to that, although the students want the exams to cancel, idk y they aren’t tweeting neither doing anything else to make it happen. But please do include UAE. Schools have been closed since March 2020 and they open for some days and then close again. Global cancellation is all we r hoping for. #cancelcie2021

Hello Im an A level student from the UAE. Including my school, Around 5 other schools have found a positive case on the first day the schools were reopened for mocks (that I know of). This happened like 3 or 4 times. And 2 of these schools still continued to have mocks in school ignoring the obvious risk. This is happening right now and exams is just roughly a month away.
Theres still gonna be a high risk during the exams. What happens if schools find several positive cases during the exams??
Now thats something neither the cambridge board or the government can do anything about.
incase of that issue, nothing is being told to the students. So its just (hit and hope) from cambridge's point of view.
And remember last year they said in their own words, "We will only run one system".

It’s a mess in UAE, especially dubai. I go to school but they keep switching to online for one whole month and then open physical school again. Our school also had many cases in our year but they either send that class or specific student back home and keep the rest which doesn’t seem right to me at all. However, English language is my only Cambridge exam so I don’t mind giving it eitherway.
In abudhabi it's worse I didn't go to school sense the last year I went only for mocks....yes they made it optional to go to school or not but the covid cases are high so it's better not to go. additionally, the primary students are the one who attended in my school no secondary student attended .

@urakmhm I've many cases like this all over - what really concerns me is CIE say schools/governments can decide but the way schools are obeying to this it's almost like they are held hostage under CIE

1. Our syllabus hasn’t been completed and we aren’t sure whether we will be able to do it or not
2. We can’t study the syllabus within a blink of an eye
3. Disoriented classes and lack of past paper practice
4. We’ve been studying online for so long we couldn’t practice the practical parts

7. The host country has cancelled the exams and only 36% - 39% centers have registered
8. Corona cases are increasing
9. Ramadan is barely a month ahead, imagine studying the content while fasting and rushing for the classes after iftar. Fsc has got their exams delayed and exams reduced but we have not got any such favor

As the global pandemic is still on the rise, students everywhere in the kingdom are struggling to cope up with their studies and preparation.
Hence, we urge you to cancel any CAIE May/June 2021 exams that are going to be held in the kingdom and the exams have been also cancelled in the United Kingdom and Bangladesh recently.
As per the news article attached below, it is also stated that "Online education will continue until the end of this academic year" and please also kindly read the petition that we students have made. As you will see that, 500+ students are against exams to be conducted in the kingdom.
Please respond accordingly and issue a statement to the kingdom that "CAIE May/June 2021 exams are cancelled."
P.S. Exams cannot be held at no cost until the virus is completely eliminated. The number of students can be up to 500+ in each city for the CAIE exams which will not be possible for the social distancing guidelines and it will be a high-risk for the possible spread of the virus. We, students are not willing to risk our lives to give an exam.

The problem is they take our exam money and then cancel the exams....on top of that the on and off hybrid school system has made it so hard to study at the pace required to get good grades. Some people have coped and still think it’s a good idea to give exams but every time someone tells me there has been another death in their family due to COVID I realize that Cambridge should really understand how difficult times have become and cancel exams overall. Nobody is fit or okay enough to go ahead with exams as per normal!!!!!

I live in Morocco and the Cambridge exam here isn’t very known and in my school we’re literally less than 20 Cambridge students so I don’t think that we can do anything about it cause they won’t listen to us, even though we’re going to school, we have less hours now like we only have two sessions of business a week and we still didn’t even start pastpapers which we were supposed to start this month, it’s very hard for us to finish the curriculum on time especially that our teachers are new and not really qualified. If you have any idea of what we can do to cancel the exams please respond to my comment.
In addition to that, our school just got certified by Cambridge last year which means that it’s still new to the whole system and this proves that the teachers aren’t well qualified to finish the whole curriculum in two classes a week. If u write another letter to Cambridge I hope that u mention our school’s name “Gibran Khalil Gibran school Marrakech” in Morocco. Thank you so much for these videos and the updates.

We're doing all we can here in Cyprus to get them cancelled. Despite not being in school for around 3 months in this lockdown alone, they still haven't cancelled exams in Cyprus. I hope with the combined pressure we are putting on Cambridge, they will finally give in. Best of luck to everyone in their efforts to get these exams cancelled.

Yes, this is true. We haven't been to school since March of 2020, especially schools here in Colombo, and yet the government is letting Cambridge exams to go ahead, believing that online learning has been just as productive as physical classes. We weren't even able to have proper exams physically in school to help evaluate our performance. This has become of immense concern to us.

Following the UK cancellation of alevels in 2021, international students are at an unfair disadvantage as their UK peers have cancelled their ALevels and IGCSE. There may be a high risk of inflated grades based on Teacher Assessed Grades, while us international students are left to write the exam. This will leave us an a disadvantage as we are also competing to enter universities also in the UK and UK students will have it easy as they sit back and relax with their biased teachers grades. CIE said that although they won’t give us an advance notice of topics or reduce our syllabus content , they will make sure grading is aligned with the Uk grading system but now, their exams are totally cancelled. This means it can no longer be possible for this to work.
There are also some UK students in private schools that write IGCSE rather than GCSE. Surely, if the UK government announces a lockdown and the closure of all schools, as well as exams to be cancelled , who is CIE or Pearson Edexcel to decide otherwise? They are simply profit motivated and are ignoring many opinions as many people share our interest of cancelling the exams since it will be unfair.
In addition to the inequality in grades, CIE & Edexcel are not taking into consideration the state of students' mental health, difficulty of access to online resources, attention disorders, and overall motivation to fully grasp the material taught in this 2 year period. While having been in quarantine and undergoing online learning since Feb/March 2020, many students are faced with the challenge of fully understanding the curriculum whether due to technical difficulties, an incredible decline in the teaching quality, or the mental state of students. Online learning has imposed a large variety of issues in a student's daily life, and it would be extremely unfair for CIE & Edexcel to not provide the same treatment to UK students and international students by grading us the same way.
We understand that COVID-19 cases vary from country to country, but we must address other issues regarding the fairness and comparability of this 'standardised' testing, student's mental health, education inequality, and the risk of being exposed to the virus. We ask for CIE & Edexcel to not act upon discrimination and provide the same treatment to their UK and international students by using the same teacher assessments grades for IGCSE and international A Levels for the May/June 2021 session as a 'student friendly board'.
There is a complete lack of judgement from the the exam boards, as they have cancelled exams for UK students, who will enter University most likely based on predicted grades and mock results, which are said to be wrong 4 out of every 5 times, and won't have to sit those exams International students will sit as long as quarantine restrictions are lessened by then, which due to the absence from school and quarantines, puts them in a disadvantageous position. International students are expected to prepare for their exams from home with very basic support and reduced online learning, in the best of cases.
Many Intl. students will attempt to enter UK universities, and now have an uphill battle against students who, due to not having to sit exams will in most cases be awarded grades they would not necessarily get if they were to sit exams, and as such it puts International students at a competitive disadvantage.
We, IAL students around the world, are pleading to the UK government to reconsider their decision and make the same call they have for the UK students, as to preserve the interest of students and maintain equal treatment internationally.
We need all students to be awarded equally and fairly!

Listen, i think this is a terrible idea. In my case, im a student studying in Mumbai, India. I have already given my AS final exams in the feb march sessions which went amazingly. Personally, im one of the stronger students in our class and I can tell you that giving physical exams is the only way to keep it fair. I know that in the previous batch many weak students were unfairly grade boosted. Average students got proper grades and stronger students got stiffed with A*, A, B grades when in reality they would have gotten all A* with 100 percentage uniform marks. I personally am also giving 9231 Further mathematics which is only available in june and November.
So in my case, if may june gets cancelled, I will have no way of showing universities that I am truly skilled in mathematics as I am studying the subject on my own (private candidates often get terribly lowered grades) and by the time November results come out i will have already applied to all of my unis who will judge my ability unfairly.

@@ateamacad Its super cool how you are replying to the comments even days after the video release. You're right the decision is different for international vs UK. It will lead to disparity as some UK kids who will get teacher assessed grades may get inflated grades unfairly and may beat out some international kids and some UK kids may get stiffed and get lowered grades compared to their international equivalent. But I do not believe the solution to such a scenario is to simply shoot ourselves in the foot and also get stuck with teacher assessed grades for all. If someone is finding it hard to give physical exams during covid, CAIE is offering the chance to get predicted grades or even dropping off some components. I believe that it is unfair too, but cancelling physical exams for everyone makes it even more unfair in my eyes. Teacher assessed grades tend to benefit weaker students and hamper stronger students. And as someone who has put in a lot of efforts for their subjects along with probably the majority of A Level students, this would just be more unfair to the people who are genuinely trying and are not simply looking to get an easy grade by sucking up to their teachers in the last week and hoping for a cancelation. A solution that I think is viable is convincing universities to regard/judge students who gave physical exams as those with accurate and fair grades and those with teacher assessed grades with a grain of salt or maybe even get an extra supplement on why they chose to not give exams (only if they were an international student). TLDR: the UK govt really screwed it up for other countries' students too lol.

I have a question if the exams are inshallah cancelled will they be prostponded or replaced by TAG/CAG? And if it was replaced by TAG the teacher will have the right to either take the grades from the mocks or the assignments right?

If your national exams have been cancelled, Cambridge exams will get cancelled too. This is what Cambridge has said. Try to bring this case to your school.
