I really feel that the amount of people who just give up and leave when you're down one or even tied is horrendous. Them they message you saying you're trash when they gave up. It really doesn't help the state of the game.

It’s because those ppl are coming off a 5 game losing streak getting dominated every game with teammates who don’t challenge except for when you go for it. Very. Frustrating
Playing with randoms is so frustrating often. I am not good at RL (low Plat), so I know that I make my mistakes. But when I play more defensively and let my teammates attack, randoms target you because you're trash and last in the scoreboard. When you try to get involved more in the offense with two mates who never play any defense, you instantly concede counter attack goals because noone stays behind. Then when you try to score, they target you because you are supposedly ballchasing. Just painful.

I wish I understood rocket league players. I REALLY wish I could. This game is genuinely incredible but it has probably the worst community I’ve ever encountered in a video game. There’s also this funny little dynamic that happens when you tell them they’re being toxic and stupid and they hit you with the “why are you taking it so seriously? Lmao” and like, my brother in Christ- I’m not the one who’s so mad I’ve condensed my rage into the density of a dying star and am currently ending the world
If it helps understand anything, I saw a study a few years back about gamers and what games had the highest iq gamers. If I remember correctly, League of Legends players were the highest average iq and rocket league players were well below average iq.

For me the most toxic community from the games I had the "pleasure" to play is Overwatch. I think the average age in this game is like 10. You can play this game only with full hazmat suit and 10 condoms.

Ngl i uninstalled and quit the game a few months back. The server connection was terrible and it would nearly cost me a goal every game. On top of that if you make literally the slightest mistake, even if your team is still winning, your tm8 just stops moving and sends chats whike refusing to ff the rest of the game. Its insane and honestly just not fun.

Same. Not worth it anymore. I tried to make friends on this game too. After a good match, I would invite people to play a few games. We would win 3,4,5 matches in a row, but the second I make a mistake causing a loss, I get blocked and removed. Just sad at this point.

I reached Grand Champ ages ago when the new rank system came out (So GC1, GC2 etc. Yeah I know, a while ago). I went back to the game every now and then just to see how it was doing, and I regretted it everytime. People calling each other slurs, calling each other trash, people getting angry when you go for a ball that you know is yours but they end up double committing anyway and then blame it on you. You can NEVER have a casual game on rocket league anymore. It's filled with sweats, smurfs and people with anger management issues. It's one of the many reasons why the game is dead. I wish I could say that I miss it, but uninstalling it was the probably the best thing I've done in a while.
The thing about people who don't know how to handle anger is very, very real.
Amen my man, uninstalling this game was the best decision i’ve ever made, and because i was slightly addicted to it i decided to make them perma ban my account so that it could stop me from being weak in the future. Worked like a charm.

@@Techno_Gecko no, no, I purposely asked the whole lobby to report me after few extremely unpolite sentences that I knew would have led to permaban, and i wrote those exactly for that. That way I was sure that in the future, even if I want to come back I actually can't. Never trusted too much on my impulse control. Finally free from that game once and for all, and honestly one of the best decisions I ever made in terms of self respect and time management.

Probably were on the same team in the game prior and queued again hoping to go against each other.
A kid beat me 2 games in a row and then I got him as teammate and instead of playing, he sat still, trash talked me, and just left the game after a minute. Mind you in the games I lost, I never uttered a word to anyone, that’s when I knew the community was screwed up (this is all in gc2 as well)
the nicest people i ran into was the last 2 days of the season and we were in casual talking about when we started playing and how washed we all are. We were just taking turns doing trick shots or simple goals like it didnt matter. Every few games 1 dude would join and play like it was comp and shit talk. We'd just laugh when the "sure kid" statement would come out as we just talked about us all being in our mid-late 20s. That last for about 6-7 games before we all got off
I've grown numb to it, I don't even respond to people. Occasionally I'll say 1v1 and shit on them tho

This is how a competitive multiplayer game dies. When the majority of players are so infinitely toxic and self centered that it's nearly impossible to ever have a good match because the moment that the absolute most minor setback happens, someone in the game gives up and wants to forfeit, or instantly leaves the game making it totally unplayable. They'll troll their own team and throw the game away, and they'll think that they're really "making a statement" or "putting someone in their place" because they have the emotional maturity of an actual 10 year old child. It makes you genuinely question why these kinds of people even play the game in the first place. There's no way they're genuinely having fun doing this, so are they just doing all of this purely out of spite for random strangers they will probably never see again on a video game? It doesn't make any sense to me, but I'm not a toxic babyraging quitter so maybe I'm just not capable of understanding it. I'm a hyper competitive person and I want to win every match I play, but I can still take pride in a hard fought loss or if my opponent genuinely outplays me.

I played with a horrible random mate in 2 v 2. Dude was blaming me the whole time. It wasnt a good game by me, but he also made his fair share of mistakes. So we concede the 3 -3 with like 5 seconds to go and my mate wants to forfeit. I then almost instantly score the 4 -3 from the kickoff with one second left. But because the prompt for forfeiting was still open and I really hated my teammate I then also forfeited the game with one second left while leading 4 -3. Felt good :D

At 17:00 the only mistake of that style of kickoff is that you need to watch closely the impact, if your team wins direction and position of ball, you need to rotate forward after picking boost. If you ask me, i turn towards the net 95% of the time everytime. I got boost and speed afterwards to get to mid or something. But if its on our net, im already back.

2 weeks ago, I was Diamond 2 Div 4 in 2v2s, and Champ 2 Div 4 in Rumble. Teammates kept leaving and rage quitting, going afk on kickoffs, and afking for the whole game, also bumping me when things weren't going right, and now, in 2v2s, I'm Plat 3 Div 1, and Champ 1 Div 1 in Rumble. I know we just had a soft rank reset for the next season, but c'mon. It's so bad I've literally been expecting my teammates to leave early every single match I play. It's horrendous.

It's funny because it's typically the player's with lower end skill who are toxic. When i'm hard carrying and my team mate says "what a save" i immediately start helping the enemies

Some games we get asked why we are taking casual so seriously (because we sometimes demo, which is part of how we play), and then other games we get trash talked because we are apparently bad, so they seem to be taking casual too seriously. Basically no matter what, we always get trash talked. It’s great

I had a 2s partner years ago, but I pretty much only play solo queue. It's rough sometimes. This season, I played almost solely Drop Shot. Now that it's out and Snow Day is in (dumbest move ever), not sure I'll be playing much at all.

If I followed rule one then all of my games where my teammates quit would be automatic losses simply because the enemy has figured out I'm the only one on my team who actually defends

The best setting for rocket league is team chat only, tac chat only, but "all" chat enabled. It allows you to communicate with your team about plays, you can see if the other team types something but it blocks anyone from being able to what a save you. It basically takes the bloat chat away and keeps the useful stuff

I noticed that its much harder to get on a win streak nowadays because a lot ogf people may be good mechanically and can do flip resets and stuff in diamond but they are just so out of position all the time that its extremly hard to keep a clean sheet,but since they go for more spectacular stuff they think they are much better,which is really frustrating for the other guy(me),so everyone is just getting increasingly more toxic. Personally I can only play at best 5 matches in a row without wanting to quit because of this and try again the next day

This is so true in C1, as well. I'm an old gamer in his 40's, so nothing I do is flashy. I'm all about fundamentals, good positioning, game sense, teamwork, etc. The majority of players are the opposite; they go for crazy aerials they can only hit one in twenty tries, always out of position in the opponent's goal, and constantly leaving you in 1v2 situations. Then have the audacity to try and blame their teammate. Sometimes it's fascinating watching the mental gymnastics people will go through to try and blame others and sometimes it's just infuriating.

I remember a bunch of years ago when all you guys kept saying that if you're back, that you go for corner boost. I ignored that advice from the start and went for the small boost in front of net instead. You only need like 30 boost max to cover the whole net at kick off.
Also, great advice with just waiting for them to finish showboating before saving the ball. I'm in Diamond for 2s, and whenever a smurf starts doing this, I just wait it out and pop it away. throw them a "nice shot!" in hopes that they'll start trying to blow me up instead of play the game.

Hate to break it to you but the take a shot player is right. THAT is the rotation. If you bang it up field they’ll be in position. They’re out of position because you’re playing slow and letting the opponents play into your half

One time I had a team mate leave. The bot was the only one to score. Sometimes seems like when I would try, the opposing team would play their best. Then I'd just watch play defense then nobody can hit the ball at all. So weird at times

Rocket league ain't fun anymore like it used to be... There is no game that i play without, smurfs, toxic kids, afk'ers. I've been banned for over 8 months for pointing out afk people who didn't wanna play anymore after we concede 1 goal in the first 20 seconds. Every game or tourney i get into the opponents are Champs, GC's and ssl while we are in diamond and champ lobbies, everywhere they are calling out names, leaving games, being afk or just go for a 5v1...... So when i flip out and call them names because they threaten to k*ll or rape my mother, Epic games just ban me for another month, 8 months already this year. The game lost its charm, 80% of that is thanks to free to play and the horrendous playerbase it got nowadays.....

I love when they say "all yours" and just sit in the goal or give up on their teammates it's great because I actually have a chance at winning till they start playing again
I remember me and my buddy would rent a video game every time he came over and it was rocket league a lot of the time. Man do I miss the casual moments in this game

I just started playing again after about a year off due to becoming a parent and I've immediately noticed that the game is much quieter now. I ranked into D3 and I've been as wholesome as I can... I compliment both teams on good shots and saves, I apologize when I make a big mistake, I tell people no problem when they make a mistake, and I've been having a good time.
The only response I've gotten so far from anyone is "no bg" after I said gg.
will say, back in like 2021 gold players were taught this by plats (around the stop doing this segment) but glad to know it does not help in anyway! genuinely thank u (was one of those golds)

People wanting to forfeit when the game is tied or our team is leading is one of the most annoying things in rocket league.

Stopped playing like 6 months to a year ago dont really remember.
For 2 reasons.
1 I felt like ranks were completely fucked. 9 times Out of 10 i felt like my opps and sometimes even my tm should be like 2 ranks higher because of their mechanics. (I was D3 to C1). My opps constantlx hit flip reset and other crazy shit meanwhile i cant even air dribble and cba to put hours into my mechanics especially when i also play other games.
2 the toxicity was Just getting boring tbh. Tm leaving after 1 0 because of a mistake or something like that or the trash talking even tho nothing happened.
Also idk what Update but since a certain Update Servers were literally lagging sometimes for no reason.
I’ve learned that when a tm8 tells me that I’m trash i show them that I can be a lot worse I just act like a noob and it TILTS them.
I always find it funny when they call you trash in 1v1 but they're the one losing XD Make it make sense hahaha
I just started playing a few months ago, I love the toxicity. I have a solid group to run 3v3 so we never crash out like some in this video but screaming at each other like a cod lobby is something I’ve missed. Let the car ball rage flow strong lmao.

I don’t play RL anymore. I ended up turning chat and QC off even with teammates. I just can’t keep up with the competition these days. But I LOVE watching sunless videos.
I had a hoops game the other day where my team was doing well, my teammate kept saying stuff like "Savage!" and "Calculated." and once we'd gotten something like four goals ahead he voted to forfeit so I just did too 😂
Ones players are a different breed of nonsensical. It's always the weirdest most aggressive toxicity and you'll see people from every rank in other modes all in plat and diamond. The game mode just makes people go crazy
