Good hunt Camille. I too have an old horse shoe silver ring that I found around an old house site. It is actually my finger size so I wear it as a dress ring on special occasions. Good haul of coins and congrats on the ram. They are a great looking coin. Take care mate 😁👍

Hi Camille I love your videos and positive vibe. Aussie 1 & 2 cent coins, while discontinued are actually still legal tender. As such it is illegal to destroy them. You can clean them and bag them up to cash in at the bank and although most shops don't know it spend them in 20c increments.

But technically I suppose the scrap metal place destroys the coins?? The law probably isn’t there for those coins but more reasonable to think it covers modern legal currency. Good to know though! 8:30 Ive also noticed that the Manticore IDs and tones are much more variable than other detectors I’ve used. It’s a much noisier machine too.
Gday and thanks for your comment. I agree. Depending on the sensitivity- the higher I push it, the less stable tid’s How do you find the lower sensitivity? More stable? 😊

@@10TargetsDetecting thanks for the video. I’ve only been out twice with mine and I usually set the sens to where it stops chattering, as with my previous machine. I think you’re right though, less sens will quieten it down. Will have to experiment a bit more - and learn the machine.

That was a bit of a, What came first, the chicken or the egg situation. Did the luck come, before, during or after the finding of the ring?... Which ever way it was, it held on for the rest of the hunt, One more Thia coin and you would have had a Thiafecta! Not sure about my spelling on the word Thia, just guesswork! A good bit of hunting ground there, I've yet to find a predecimal New Zealand coin, Yours is the first one Ive ever seen. I love that about detecting. There is always something old, yet new to find! Great hunt Camille, what are the chance's of you going back there very soon, or have you already been. Guess I'll just have to wait to find out. Cheers!
Haha yes I’ve been back already. I’m usually a few vids up and I like to hit an area quite a bit before the locals might be able to recognise it 😂. I like sharing the spots… after I’ve been about 5 times 😉 Thai. 🇹🇭. Love it. I needed 3 for my Thai fector!! The horse shoe ring was quite unique and I love it 😍 Hope you’re great 👍
@@10TargetsDetecting Well, I had all the right letters, just not in the right places. I'm keeping busy building a short hallway between my bus and my bungalow with an offset pot belly fireplace, to heat both, at the moment Ive got one gas burner on my little stove warming the bus, I hate being cold and I want to be ready for winter. I'd rather be detecting but, priorities hold sway. I'm happy enough and still kicking. That's always a good thing! Hope it's the same for you! Cheers!
From what I've seen of that manticore, I'll be waiting til they stabilise it with a couple of firmware updates before I even think of updating from the trusty old 800. Too much jumpy/cnflicting, not necessary information for me? I wonder if manticore drivers just end up resorting to the sound? 🤷♂️
Hi Jason. The more you use it, the more you understand the language of the Manticore. There’s a lot of information to take in. But once you get it, and you tame the beast, it’s an amazing detector. The trusty Nox is a very capable detector though. And I still love using it also.
Have you thought about getting some kind of strap or body mount for your camera? That way your Hands would be free.
Hey there yes I do have a chest mount but it jiggles the camera when I dig so live digs are so dizzy for the viewer to watch. I find holding the camera is most steady. But I’ll keep trying new ideas 😊 I do have a tripod so I could mount it each dig. Happy hunting.

Hi Monoman. I’m actually just using an iPhone and and editing app called Vixar. It’s super simple and I could probably get a better set up, but the filming and editing is just like my detecting - simple and straightforward and gets the result 😊 Happy hunting mate 👍👍
