This is a direct port of the Arcade version and one of the first games for the Genesis.. very true to the original therefore Bret Hitman HARD to play! Don't mix this up with Super Ghouls'n Ghosts for the SNES which was a totally new game (Part 3 if you want) Just like in all parts of the series you need to play the game twice in order to get to the final boss (Loki).
This game holds the title of first rage quit from a videogame for me. I remember I could barely get past the first level of the snes version, I was to young and dumb to figure out the way to get past the waves the wash you away. Was I the only kid to pop his rage quit cherry on this game?
No, never! I use savestates, yes, but never actual cheatcodes. One could argue that using savestates is also cheating but for me this is just a huge time saver. Beating hard games like this without savestates would take a looong time of training while the resulting longplay would look virtually the same : A complete playthrough without losing lives. The goal is to represent the game and its contents and not how good we can play them (which we often do not at all ;) )

I wish a had this game in my childhood. I mean my Mega Drive game library wasn't bad at all, but this looks so much fun!

❤u simple the best
Were you using an invincibility code? There were a couple times that it looked like you should have taken damage but didn't.
