Thank you so much for the info on how to make this blanket. I bought the yarn and fleece. I’ve been stalling on making it because, I wasn’t quite sure but your instructions are so precise and clear. Thank you again for the instructions. Your voice is so soothing and calm. It makes me feel like I can do this.😍😘
Hi Brenda, Glad you find that my crocheting looks easy! The few stitches I know serve me well and were taught to me by my VERY patient G’ma. So much more for me to learn in this regard, but ‘oh what FUN it is’ to crochet! Thank you for your kind comment! Tweek 😁
Thank you so very much for this wonderful lesson. I have everything I need to start. I hope mine is half as BEAUTIFUL as yours. ~Blessings to you~ Jo Anne from Little Rock, Arkansas 😉
Beautiful & what a neat idea. This video was easier for me to follow with the camera angle looking down while you worked versus looking at/across from you. Question for you, what do you think about using 2 separate pieces of fleece and making a crochet border? I'd love your thoughts!
Thank you for your comment about the camera angles. We are trying to do a better job of keeping the camera focused on the work without making the video boring to watch. We appreciate you taking the time to write a comment and please know we will continue to work at making our videos better going forward. 😊 Tweaks With Tweek
I imagine if you could line up the punch holes in the two pieces of fleece, and you were able to keep them in place as you stitched through both... that may work. I have not attempted it, but it does sound interesting. That sure would be one extra warm blanket! Let me know if you find some success with this idea. Good Luck! Tweek
@@TweakswithTweek It was not boring at all! I love your personality, it's so cute. I am a very visual person, some things come easy for me and some things I tend to make more difficult than they really are. So it was hard for me to envision the correct way I would need to crochet and in what area of the yarn you were making the stitch when I was looking at you versus looking down. You're so sweet to respond. Thank you so much and I most definitely will let you know how my project turns out! Merry Christmas!
Hi, I enjoy watching and learning from your videos. I wanted to share the Fiskars 45mm perforating rotary blade with you it's on Amazon and online. It makes the holes around the fleece also. It's easier on my hands.. thanks for all your videos.
Hi Sweets! 😄 Yes, I have used the rotary puncher. I’m glad that you find it helpful to you! Thank you for your kind comments and for the suggestion! Tweek 😁
Hi Dee, Agreed… crocheting is a skill that takes some practice. Yet even a few learned simple stitches can be enough to make your own blanket. I know so few stitches ( my sis-in-law, Kathy, is the most awesome - can create anything from clothing to ornaments to toys to blankets - creative crochet artist I know! ) but I know enough to be creative in my own way and to find joy in it. Hang in there, Dee. Once you get your stitch down you’ll be free to create and to find your own joy! I don’t believe you’ll ever regret it, cuz as long as your fingers remain operational you’ll be able to crochet something for yourself, and for others☺️ Thank you for your comment, Dee. Tweek😄
Hi, Fleece fabric comes in all colors, in patterns and in solids. The variety of fleece ranges from lite fleece to luxury fleece, and prices for it rise accordingly. Licensed images cost even more. I’ve made fleece blankets of all types of fleece. It’s up to you how many layers you use and what colors and/or images you choose to use to make your blanket. Our TwT videos are offered using many of the varieties of fleece mentioned above with a variety of thicknesses and in double or single layer. Check them out… Have fun! :0)
I was watching the video of making a crocheted boarder for fleece blanket, where can I find the Fiskars puncher? I have looked on Amazon but all I come up with is hole punchers for paper.
Hi BeYou4You, Thank you for your interest in our episode! The tool I use is a Fiskars 1/16 inch hand punch...I am attaching the link below. Be sure you do not use a hand punch that has a larger size punch as that makes going through the fleece fabric VERY difficult. The 1/16 inch punch makes using fleece easy! The crochet hook I use is a size H. Good luck & Happy Punching! Tweek Fiskars 1/16 Inch Hand Punch, Circle www.amazon.com/dp/B0001DT3YU/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_3gbQFbB55G6TP
@@TweakswithTweek Thank you so much. It’s so kind of you to reply to my questions. Some people say that it’s better to use the skip blade rotary cutter. What do you think? Thanks again! Your blankets are beautiful 🧶
Hi again! My sister brought me the rotary cutter & blades & the mat & edge guide to cut/punch the holes into fabric... but I’m reluctant to use it! Hah hah... am flying with what I know. Maybe when/if my hands start to object to all the punching I’ll take a dive into that method. I hear it is fast and easy. If you are braver than moi’ give it a try, eh? ( just watch your fingers! Hee hee hee 😛 ) Tweek
I started with the rotary setup. After watching the video several times, I decided to try the hole punch. Tried it on a small piece of fleece and was pleasantly surprised to see that it’s really easy to do the spacing. Thanks for the link to Amazon for the Fiskar. My first hole punch was not a Fiskar. I expect the new one to give me much better results.
I'm wanting to know the name of your hole punch and where you get it from This punch is what you hole punch your fleece them you crochet your fleece and your crochet item together. Please. I'm trying to do crichet a shawl for my mother and put fleece on one side. Thank you.

Hi Jamie, to make a child’s sized fleece blanket I use 1 yard of fabric. To make an adult sized blanket I use 2 yards of fabric. Tho, to accommodate my taller relatives, I have made 3 yard sized blankets. Keep in mind, the more fabric you get the longer it takes to get all the way around the circumference of the fabric... so be sure to rest your hand along the way! :0) Tweek
My older brother is very talented and now that he’s retired he said he’s happy to help in the merch dept! I’ll tell him to get right on it! Gotta please the masses, right Pete?
Velvet fleece???? Shasta, I have never encountered it. Hmmmm… I am familiar with ‘Lux’ fleece, about double in thickness from what I usually use I use - Blizard Fleece from JoAnn Fabric. I’d steer away from any fabric that unravels… would not be sure of how to fix it! So sorry that I cannot be more helpful to you. The fleece you punch into - be it hand or rotary punch - should take the punched hole without unraveling. I wish you well, Shasta. 😀Tweek
Puckering… WHILE you crochet in the yarn, Shasta? I can only figure that perhaps you are pulling the yarn stitches too tightly if it is puckering or pulling the fleece fabric.
Thanks! I’ve started a second one and im crocheting looser and I’m made sure my holes were more evenly spaced. It seems to be helping! You’re tutorial was amazing by the way!!
Hi Diane, I tend to use the single crochet stitch the most cuz it makes for a simpler edging. But I’ve used double crochet many times and it works very well … adds a wider strip of color. Your choice! Which ever stitch you are more comfortable with, run with that 😄 Tweek
