The wood rings are approximately 1/4 inch thick. We glued 2 together to make it about a 1/2 inch.

@@sabatka2 Agreed! Sometimes NOT having to paint is just simpler. Yet seeing how the paper in the cardboard reacts to the paint is always a FUN and surprising part of cardboard projects, methinks! @@llee2348 Hi! Any size bead works! As long as you can string the wire ( or thread ) thru the beads multiple times, ie: smaller beads = thinner wire. Have fun!

@@skmcclure1 Hi Susan, I am not familiar with sewing, sorry. Not sure how to match up the two fabrics… but working with fleece in my projects keeps worries of fabric ravels & frays & holes stretching out of mind. You could try punching holes into the flannel to see how it responds? Have you got scraps you can test with? Having one side of a blanket soft, warm fleece and the other side cooler flannel sounds good to me! Good luck! I hope it works out for you. I sure do admire folks who like to sew!

@@melindatijerina3433 Hi Melinda! I use a Fiskars 1/16th inch needle punch. My local fabric store used to carry this item in stock but currently I can only purchase the puncher online. Look there… expect to pay around $10 for it. Thank you for your comment, I appreciate that! Tweek :0)

I use Beadalon .018 bead stringing wire. As long as your wire is flexible, strong enough and slides through the beads it should work.
