Let’s talk about the #1 best home test for hypothyroidism. It can be difficult to figure out if you have a hypothyroid problem. But, this hypothyroidism test will help make it easier to determine right at home.
Hashimoto’s is behind 90% of hypothyroid cases. Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disorder where antibodies attack your thyroid.
When you have Hashimoto’s, you need selenium to help convert the thyroid hormone T4 (the inactive version) to T3 (the active version).
Sea kelp is a great source of selenium, iodine, and other nutrients for the thyroid gland. Or, just one Brazil nut a day will give you the selenium you need.
80% of this conversion happens through the liver and the gallbladder. If these organs are damaged, that could be why your thyroid isn’t working. The other 20% occurs in the kidney. Diabetes can cause weakness within the kidney, leading to a thyroid problem.
Gluten can mimic certain things in your thyroid gland. If you develop an allergy to gluten, you could also develop an allergy to your thyroid gland. If you have a thyroid problem, you should avoid gluten.
Another condition that could lead to hypothyroidism is estrogen dominance. In this situation, instead of worrying about the thyroid, it may be better to focus on the estrogen dominance issue.
Thyroid nodules are a classic sign of iodine deficiency. You may want to try my simple test for an iodine deficiency (see how this test is done at 11:45).
    Symptoms of hypothyroidism:
    • Feeling cold frequently
    • Fatigue
    • High cholesterol
    • Depression
    • Puffiness in the face
    • Weight gain
    • Constipation
    • Hair loss
    • Dry skin and dry hair
    • Brain fog

at 12:26, I noticed an error. If you still see a yellow iodine color after an hour, chances are you have sufficient iodine. If it is gone, chances are you are deficient.

I noticed the same thing. The hypothyroidism video says that if the stain hasnt disappeared after 24hrs you probably DO NOT have a deficiency. If it is gone, has been absorbed, you probably DO have a deficiency.

I rarely comment here, but like others have stated your advice has helped me in repairing my health and managing my Hashimoto's. Your advice also help me avoid an appendectomy. As a matter of fact, I was about to wheeled into surgery, but at the last minute said I changed my mind and asked if there was an alternative option. The doctor looked at me and very hesitantly told me about a heavy dose of antibiotics, which I agreed to. After viewing your video on inflammation and the appendix, I've been 2 years appendix pain free and rebuilt my gut from the antibiotic use. Funny thing is, the nurses and Dr even said I'd be back when my appendix acts up again or worse-ruptures. This had me scared, but then I remembered they have an interest in performing the surgery and stuck to my guns. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The important of Microbiome. Many of his patients/followers have cured themselves from Hashimoto’s, many kinds of allergies/autoimmune diseases, or other diseases.
Dr Gundry is pretty much inline with Dr Berg about Keto, intermit fasting, etc…only Dr Gundry talks more about Lectins. Gluten is just 1 kind of lectin. He tells u Where the lectins r, what they do to the body, how to avoid them. Not just in grains…His video “ur brain is NOT in the head” is also amazing

Yes. I have been tested so many times for hypothyroidism. The blood tests come back as “normal” but I honestly think the normal range is too vague. I have a lot of the symptoms of hypothyroidism (and sometimes hyperthyroidism-almost like it bounces back and forth if that’s even possible..)and they even scanned my thyroid and said it was enlarged but “it was nothing to worry about-just check yearly to see what’s happening”.. never gave me anything to work on with diet or anything to know to help heal me. I react to wheat/gluten so I avoid it all the time, and I feel swollen in my neck a lot.
I have many family members who have thyroid issues. Totally testing myself now!

This doctor is invaluable! I have been told I have R.A. SInce 1976. I have had those 💥 nodules just about all this time. I was told they are from the arthritis, not thyroid nodules. That misled me to try researching in the wrong places. Who told me that? A doctor, so he didn’t know correct information either! I have NEVER found a reason why they showed up and they are painful!!! They are around my elbows and ankles. They limit actions tremendously.
Finally a cause I can relate to and do something about! ( yes, I have low thyroid, too) I’ve been taking Iodine and T-3, but not selenium! I want these misleaders to be gone!

Several refused but finally one agreed to test. My antibodies were through the roof. Not only that, but for over 15 years, they had been undertreating my thyroid and my levels were never in optimal range. 2015 was major time for me, when i realized having issue with hashimoto. never took any kind of prescription drugs, but slowly digging material similar to your presentation here, and making connections, then hand picking supplements, careful diet planning, etc. year later, i was better than ever, even thought i became socially the odd one, not partying, drinking beer anymore, etc.
this year was stressful for me, my mom passed away, so i let myself go with unhealthy and fast food all day long, and now is the time to go back and revert to the healthy life style. i know all it takes to get there, but still binge watching all your videos - it is so exciting to see i am not alone in all this, whereas i do feel such when talking to ppl in my vicinity, friends, colleagues, MD.

I believe menopause tripped up my body and doctors put me on Synthroid in 2007. It helped, but at 66 that was the only med I was taking and wanted off of it. My kinesiologist started treating my pituitary and liver with supplements and I have been Synthroid free since October. It was pretty rough weaning off over 2 months, but I am completely symptom free now. No problems losing weight because I have been eating keto and 18/6 IF the past year. I have no doubt cutting out grains and sugar and fasting helped as much as the supplements. I’m still taking the pituitary supplements. T3/t4 normal and tsh normal. Thank you Dr. Berg!

I'm 63, very active, but have gained 5-6 lbs in the past year, and have other symptoms of hypothyroidism. I have been gluten sensitive for a long time. I probably don't get a lot of iodine in my diet. Will definitely look into this.
