    I never had a rattle in the hatch but did have a recurring rattle in my sunroof. On the 2nd attempt to fix it, the dealer just replaced the whole sunroof assembly. While the rattle was annoying, I certainly can't complain about how well Kia honour their warranty. Love my Stinger

      I had the exact same thing happen to me on my 2018 stinger sunroof Thier was a rattler or squeak coming from it. Replace the whole thing and it still came back. I ended up finding it myself. If you place your hand on the headliner at the edge directly midway below the back of the sunroof and push the headliner up or down it will stop the noise just pull on it a little bit or push up on it a little bit and you'll feel it that it can pop in and out of position. This should stop your noise. If it comes back do the same thing again . This temporarily works for a while and you have to keep on doing it over and over.

    Glad you found the issue. Recommendation to all, investigate thoroughly first. And have to be gentle with those privacy covers. They’re all delicate regardless if it’s from BMW or KIA.

    Instead of using the plastic bag for tension, you can try using some plumbing tape to go over the threads.

    When I fixed mine I doubled up the thick washers and that was too much.. then the hatch would not seal completely so then I got a whistle when the car was over 50mph. Took it down to one thick washer only and it works great now.

    • @twn2rbo
      @twn2rbo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Yeah I did one thick and two thin ones that were OE. Mine was a two part issue, the hatch was rattling again, but it wasn’t near as loud as recently. It was that privacy cover. The washers did work, I also tried two thick and it was not wanting to shut, so I adjusted the bump stops and boom. Perfect. Like day 1 again 😀

    Just fixed the rattle in my ‘20 GT1 throwing a set of 5/16 neoprene (rubberized) washers over the existing ones. The piece mine came with had black plastic washers fixed in place to the cover, and extra foam in the middle that bumped out. I mention the look of my part, because it was different from most covers I’ve seen online. As annoying an issue as the rattle is, the fix is quick and cheap!

      @twn2rbo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! You can also try to rubber 5/16 washers too, but I would still cut out some rubber or (anti slip map for rugs) for under the blocks. There’s a few ways to do it I suppose. Also, check your security cover, that little insert is what was rattling the loudest back there, the hatch itself was a slight rattle.

    I love my 2022 Stinger GT Scorpion. Upgraded from a 2018 premium to 2022 Scorpion. However, there is something that’s concerning. My front parking sensors went out. After ordering the parts, the horn relay and the rear parking sensors went out as well. Now there’s a weird rotating / flat tire sound coming from one of the tires but there’s no flat. Also, my idle stop and go feature stopped initializing. The amber light turns on but the feature doesn’t work. I have an appointment with the dealer next week… but what the hell kia?!

    • @twn2rbo
      @twn2rbo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m with ya man, it seems to vary from person to person. I’ve had no issues like that but I have the base GT, less things to go wrong. I will say though My only beef with this car is the clear coat on the paint and the interior rattles / noises at such low miles. It is a new car and the kinks can take awhile to work out, but the pros out weigh the cons. Still sucks though

    I can tell that the original washers you had in there were stainless steel, while that new thicker washer was zinc plated (at best). If you kept that thick washer in there and in your climate, I would consider replacing it again with stainless washers, or stack a few stainless to achieve that thickness as I don't think I've ever seen stainless washers that thick. Even zinc plated washers will eventually rust.

    • @twn2rbo

      I think people were also wanting to see some rubber washers, I used some non slip rubber that sits between the washer and paint for now. But that would be a cool update vid

      Rotors and pads, it’s a very heavy car and it’s pretty fast, so I accept it. But they definitely need upgraded when operating like we do. Mine are still good though, I’m more of a dig person - I love 0-70/100

    • @twn2rbo
      @twn2rbo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not visible, towards the end of the video is the final result. I suppose plumbers tape would work too, but you would need a ton of it for it to not wiggle so bad. I have mine perfectly snug right now and the zip ties will keep it from moving back to place. That’s a common issue after adjustments, they end up moving back up. My rattle has came back after doing this. So I need to probably double up on the washers

      Yeah Kia used some really thin ones when I took that piece off. I’d double check the cargo cover too, that was the loudest rattle I had, sounded like the hatch

    Putting in a huge sub like that defeats the purpose of the hatchback feature 😂😂

    • @twn2rbo
      @twn2rbo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah esp the big one, but a hatch is a major benefit for SPL. It’s much louder than a typical car is where the sound waves travel through the seat and trunk deck. This car is so loud it’s insane, that’s why I put the Sundown X8 back in, it’s only 50 lbs so it’s easy to take in and out.

      @@twn2rbo I only have a muffler delete on my GT1 and the stock speakers do well at hiding the drone I get sometimes coming from that trunk area. The seats also do well at sound deadening.

      I suppose that would work, but at the end of the day you won’t see either and mine is rattle free. The bump stops are approx 1/2” each and solid which is the ultimate goal. The issue with the bump stop adjustments, is that the dealers often adjust these and they wiggle back after time. By forcing a little extra volume up there, whether that be with a bunch of Teflon tape or or some thin plastic, then securing them with zip ties, it will not allow that to happen again. I wish I didn’t have to do it myself to get rid of the rattles completely, but it is what it is
