Every time I see your videos, I pull either my grand father Speedmaster or my father one, to compare it or check what you you are pointing out. I really enjoy that.
Love your videos. I'd also be very keen to get your take on the 2021 Speedmaster. I've just bought the sapphire sandwich - my first Speedmaster. I absolutely love it, especially the bracelet which is so comfortable you can forget you're wearing the watch. Anyway if you could do a review of the new one, which I recognise is a departure from your usual content, I think many would find it interesting. Also, note that I have thick skin so if you hate the thing I'll be able to cope with that!. All the best William, and thanks for the education you've been providing the Speedmaster community.
Great looking watch, Very honest piece by the looks, Interesting you say there's a hint of brown, It doesn't come across. I notice some of the lume plots have quite pronounced serifs. especially the 8 o'clock
I credit the seller for ensuring the future of this important watch by choosing to entrust it to William. I believe his grandfather would have agreed with his decision. Excellent review.
I can tell you exactly. The seller was not in a position to keep such a valuable watch as it represented a large proportion of his net worth. By selling the watch he injected the money into his buisiness to build his future. Not all Inheritances are in cash - but selling this watch changed his life. I cannot imagine his grandfather would not approve.
I am sure you now know the facet on the lugs indicates in-fact that this watch was indeed serviced by omega. The facets were introduced during the servicing of the watch. The facets were not part of the original case design.
Interesting aswell, the Omega logo has a ghosting on the O and M. I've always wondered how they do the printing. Is it a stencil or a stamp or who knows what?
Not everyone wants, or is able to keep such a valuable watch. I spent the day with him, and I did tell the seller he should keep the watch. He explained to me that to him, the amount of money the watch represented was life changing. By passing on the watch to his grandson, the grandfather was able to ensure his grandson had some money to grow his buisiness. The grandfathers memory will live on in the sucess of his Grandson. Day still ruined?
@@Speedmaster101I think my reaction is a perfectly natural one .I'm not saying you were wrong to buy it ,Ijust wish he didn't feel rhe need to sell it .What I wouldn't give for a watch worn by my grandfather or my late father for that matter
@@Dave062YT My father was the owner of a couple Speedys, that were badly sold when he left, like ten years ago. I was a young man back then and I just could not rescue them, I was late, had no money and things just happened. I lost both, the memory and the value, which is not the case for this Mexican watch. I regret for that from time to time, even today, but you know, the past is a foreign country, they do things differently there… However if I were the grandson of this grandson I would feel happy about this story, maybe the business shall success or not, the try was made honestly, what else a man can do.
I have a speedmaster professional 105 012 65 with a 321 that needs do be serviced. Where do you have your watches serviced and how long does it usually take?
I have my grandfather's Omega and I would NEVER part with it under any circumstances whatsoever. I guess this guy can't have thought very much of his grandfather.
Very cool Ed White ! Very interesting 🤔 to see your point of view! Love it, William we need more videos
Thank you

Nice pickup mate👌🏻 I have to say I think the Mexican bracelet is a great attribute and adds value.
Cheers
Thank you. I will post up the results of the service, hopefully with the restored bracelet.

Selling the watch that was given to you by your grandfather..?
Don’t understand how someone can di this.

Interesting, I am always open to new info. Thank you
Why don’t you let it run and comment on its accuracy, even if you’re servicing it? Great vid, thanks.
Very nice watch, congratulations!
Hoping the service will not be with Omega ...
:)
;)
Superb!
Thanks a lot!
Lovely one😎
Thanks ✌️

What kid sells his grandfather’s watch? People have no soul.
What would you consider the fair value of that watch?
Best to look at the price chart on www.speedmaster101.com

Simon Freese in the UK. www.simonfreesewatchmakers.com/
It may well be a 105.003 but with all due respect a '65 isn't a "real" Ed White... it's the wrong year... just IMHO William...
Pedantically you are correct
