Montgomery Vector! A Wonderful Elevator at Macy's Cool Springs Galleria

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Aaron wanted to check out the Cool Springs Galleria while we were in Tennessee, and I'm glad we went out to it. They have several neat elevators, which will be featured in the next few weeks of uploads.

This is my favorite Vector in this mall, & my favorite Cool Springs elevator that's not a glass lift! Trust me, it's a fancy looking Macy's, & my favorite in Tennessee. I will want to make a video about the store, as all I they did was take down & put up the Castner-Knott, Proffitt's, Hecht's, & Macy's letters. This store was an original anchor as with Dillard's & Sears, but it was a "Castner-Knott" back when the mall opened in 1991. Castner-Knott was a division of Mercantile Stores & a local store alongside Cain-Sloan (a chain purchased by Dillard's in 1987, 4 years before this mall was built). JCPenney opened their store in 1993, and the upscale Parisian joined the mall in 1994. It's sign was changed for the first time in the late '90s (1998 to be exact) as Dillard's purchased Castner-Knott's parent company Mercantile Stores & already had a presence in Nashville, so this store became Proffitt's along with 4 others in Middle Tennessee & 10 elsewhere. Shortly thereafter (in 2001), Saks Inc. sold the 5 area stores again plus 3 Parisian units that were also taken over from Mercantile Stores & 1 originally from McRae's in other markets to May Company, thus the Tennessee stores were converted to Hecht's. It would rebrand once more in the mid 2000s (in 2006), as Federated took over May Company & converted all of their nameplates (including Hecht's) under Federated's Macy's banner. Anyways, CoolSprings Galleria has nicer skylights than most other U.S. malls.

You should go to Fayette Mall in Lexington, KY. The Dillard’s there has really nice Montgomery Vectors that sound like this one!
