- THERE WAS A FIRE AT ONE OF THE BEACH HUT'S AT MAMA ROSE PROPERTY...
It was a shock a few weeks ago when we suddenly saw smoke and the beach hut next to us on fire! Luckily, no one was there and the fire didn't spread. In this video, I share a little bit of what happened, and then, it is back to Philippines beach home province life! There has been a lot of rain, but on this afternoon... it cleared! And the guys went surfing in Baganga. I also went for a run and just enjoyed soaking up some Philippines Province life vibes!
Some old bakery bread turned into pudding, and Kumar gets back from renewing his driver's license...

As difficult as it may seem to most, everything and every experience in our lives serves its purpose. I feel remorseful to mama rose and am sorry for her loss of the building. There is always good in the bad if we can see through it. I’m sure this brought awareness to so many things in her life and also all of yours. Everything happens for a reason. I clearly remembered the first time I encountered and watched a Becoming Filipino video. It was raining and I was in a computer shop, I had no phone that time and I spent almost an hour watching like its like I am travelling in places sa bansa natin 🇵🇭❤

Feeling bad for Mama Rose and family regarding the loss of the beach hut but glad no one was injured and the fire did not spread beyond it's walls. On another note, so glad to see the good vibes and positivity spread up and down the coast from the Beach Compound to the bar in Baganga and hopefully beyond. Power on!
kulas change all ur bamboo fence to hollowblock concrete fence to serve as firewall. kawayan is very combustible and fire hazard.
I notice the river near the shores are clean no plastic and other trash.... really very nice place, they must have good solid waste management

Kulas when you talk about the HEALTH and SAFETY , CANADA is the best you know that. You need to buy some FIRE EXTINGUISHER and set up in the kitchen and other corners. Just a friendly advice Kulas, have a good one buddy.

the beauty about rain it gives you more waterfalls and you dont have to worry inwatering your plant. that is why Filipino call it a blessing from above. When i was kid we love it because we got to have the time to play in the rain.

U have to put up cctvs all over the place to monitor ur house. And try making concrete tiny houses instead since Kubos or nipa hut are highly inflammable, just a piece of match or anything that creates a lil fire/heat.

March is Fire Prevention Month. But every month and in every moment we should always be ready, for fire can happen at any moment even during rainy season. Having fire extinguishers ready can be of big help in case unwanted incident like that happens. Keep safe always!

You can probably paint your timber/wood house with fire retardant paint it helps not to spread the fire easily specially in the summer temperature can become extreme.

That's the first place I ever stayed when I came to Cateel (though they rebuilt it since...)

Indeed fire is on!, March is fire prevention month ,please be careful especially that power outages happens in your area,when you leave always check all power source…stay safe,always be careful
What caused the fire? I spent some time in Baganga back in 2016. A great place indeed. I rented a small wooden house at the beach there, and used to go to the hot springs. I even went a couple of times to Cateel. A wonderful area with so many nice beaches.
I live in Carmen Davao before, and I always passby the Cateel but did not know you can fish on side of the beach, wow i have too many fishing polls and sets of fishing equipment. I am from Illinois UsA and I brought one of my fishing set when we came to visit Cebu to fish on the pier. and giifted my set to my cousins.
So sad that someone lost their home.
Everything happens for a reason. Something big and positive will replace that. 🙏☝️

Sorry for Mama Rose loss but good to know no one got injured during the incident. There's a reason for everything. Safety is more important. They can build again in the future. On the other hand it's almost summer the kids in Baganga enjoy a lot. When we see children playing it reminds us and give us good vibes that grateful we are because we still live even on lonely moments in our life.

Oh man, it's a good thing nobody got hurt when that hut burned down. It's also fortunate that the fire never got the chance to spread to nearby structures. I wonder if a rat or a mouse gnawing on the wires was the reason for the fire, where a stray spark caused an ignition?
On another note, I dare say that ginataang gulay and fried fish make a really good sud-an combo. Can't go wrong with that combo haha.
Sounds like it was a candle due to brownout. Ginataang gulay is THE BESTTTT
