Oh Ventura, we were on Ventura when she had engine failure off Tenerife last December. I was assisting my friend, the art instructor, Pauline Williams. A real advent adventure on Ventura. A wonderful and beautiful ship and all staff so lovely. It will be wonderful for them to be reunited with their families again. Safe journey home, we are all going home to Love I think. Peace and Love through Jesus Christ to restore this world to Love for Heaven on Earth. Amen #Loveisnotacortisol 🕊💖🕊
We saw Ventura from Lee on solent yesterday going past and wondered where she was off to.We went on her for a month in January to the Caribbean last year and the staff were fantastic. So hope everyone gets home ok.safe journey to all .
It is a great credit to the cruise industry to facilitate their crews with repatriation. Obviously it is not possible to get suitable connecting airlines with associated airport issues. I wish all on the Ventura a safe voyage. Thanks Steve for the amazing video which marks an important event during these times and is one for the history archives. Future generations will value it when they see what was happening during uncertain times in 2020.
Great video Steve. Ventura looks so majestic sailing away. We recently came back on the last cruise ending on 17th March, just in the nick of time before UK lockdown. We had a lovely time onboard and as we were relatively new cruisers, we found it all a very pleasant and interesting experience. The staff on our cruise on Ventura this last Feb/March were absolutely amazing and the food fantastic. In this video many crew from other P&O ships (some 3,000 crew I gather) are being repatriated on this journey on Ventura which is called ‘Operation Hindostan’, after S.S. Hindostan the first P&O ship to go to India on the 24th September 1842. Our sympathies are with the crew who must be desperate to get home and who must be worried about their families, countries, health, future jobs and careers at this exceptionally difficult time. You are all amazing crew on Ventura and it was a privilege to have met you. You are all a credit to P&O.
Hi Steve. Watching Ventura sailing away without passengers is a sad day. However looking on the bright side crew members are being re patriated to their home countries. We all wait with baited breath when the new normal will return. But for sure the elderly percentage will be missing due to the worries of re infection. We were booked on the Maiden cruise of Iona and were gutted when it was cancelled due to the current lockdown. Cruising will return and we will look forward as usual to your marvellous footage of sailaway and ships returning to Southampton. Keep safe mate. Tony
Sad to see. I was due on the Ventura on June the 8th for a cruise. Seeing this makes me sad to think. that should be me and my wife sailing out on our cruise.
Let’s hope that if the cruise industry is forced to rationalise their fleets, this woefully ugly barge will be consigned to the scrappers. Probably though P&O will be forced to rebrand/rename the Princess cruises versions of these monstrosities as they won’t be welcome as Princess ships in any Pacific countries ever again. We in Australia, would like to see the Ruby Princess donated to the Royal Australian Navy for target practice!
why ! on two counts . I'm glad to see you think you can speak for the whole of Australia. it is the size that makes it affordable for the less wealthy to enjoy the cruise experience. beauty is in the eye of the beholder . have you been on one of these ships ? if you haven't you will have missed a wonderful experience and not be making such negative comments . sound like you just envy England
Thank you Steve. A beautiful ship that we have enjoyed. Difficult times for the crews.

If we don't wise up as a species we will just resume our journey to hell on a hand cart when the pandemic fades.

the headline says she's just going to anchor in Weymouth Bay. I dont think she's repatriating anyone.
Had some lovely holidays on Ventura which I will always treasure.

Must be a change of plan as she’s back in Southampton on 18 May according to VTS
It looks as if Ventura is really on the way to India...just off the Lizard currently having left Weymouth last evening
Hi Chloe, according to VTS and Vesselfinder 'Ventura' is due to arrive back into Southampton on the 18th May before her trip to India.
