John Simm will always be the master to me, I've been a fan ever since his days on Life on Mars
He plays the master so perfectly, charismatic, malicious, deadly and psychotic, on par with the doctors intellect
He rocks the man liner, he loses himself in the role and I never get sick of it, I just wish he got more appreciation as an actor

Same, I love Michelle Gomez as Missy, especially as, while there are conflicting bits of information here or there, her dialogue throughout Capeldi's time as The Doctor suggests Missy is a future version of The Master from after Jodie's Doctor learns the truth about The Timeless Child, as many of Missy's throwaway lines line up with a lot of things that happened to Jodie's Doctor in seasons 11-12.
The most obvious but easy to miss is her throwaway line about when The Doctor "was a little girl" when she's testing Clara to see if she can figure out if Missy is lying by telling her 3 different things, with one of them being a lie.
But, knowing about Jodie's Doctor and the truth of The Timeless Child AND knowing Missy, how do we know the lie was actually that any of the 3 things she said were a lie a all?
Seriously, seasons 11 and 12 actually made me love Missy as a character even more than I did during her time on the show itself

I think Simms and Gomez are both definitely better than Sacha. Out of the mess that has been the Chibs era everyone always points to Sacha as a highlight in that era. Am I the only one that thinks Sacha is just way too over the top with trying to be a Joker rip off. Also his version of the Master has none of the character development from the past 10 seasons. Now thats not Sacha's fault it's Chibs but it still makes him version of the Master worse. Maybe Sacha could be a good Master if he wasn't under Chibs poor writing but he just comes off as someone who is trying to be over the top insane and trying to be another Simm but executing it poorly.

I hope they would reveal the Timeless child is actually the Master, and he's pissed off about it.
The Time Lords stole his regeneration energy to the point his regeneration gets wonky.
He only lied to the Doctor for mind games. Which also explains why the Master was able to burn Gallifrey to the ground and produce the Cybermasters.
Notice how they're not called CyberLords or CyberTimeLord but named after himself?

Roger Delgado, the ORIGINAL, you might say, is still my favorite, with John Simm my favorite from the new era. I think Delgado really, er... mastered the charm and the menace. And he worked so very well with Jon Pertwee and the regular cast. You could really take from his interpretation that he and the Doctor really were friends once on Gallifrey. Delgado's untimely passing was one of the reasons why Pertwee chose to leave the role - the two were very close friends in real life.
It took me a very long time to accept Anthony Ainley in the role: he was a little crazy at times, but he usually managed to maintain control. Admittedly, the series began a tendency of plugging his Master into stories that really didn't need him. The King's Demons, for one - the villain could have been anybody, really. Looking back, it might have made an interesting opportunity to reintroduce the Monk from the First Doctor's era - it would have worked perfectly since interfering in historical events was more his thing than it ever was the Master's. Eventually, Ainley did grow on me, but for a long time it was a case of "well, we can't have the original, so he's the next best thing." Unfortunately, that's clearly how he was told to play the role, and I don't think he ever got the opportunity to stamp his own mark on the character. The master of disguise aspect was interesting, but so overused -- even when there really was no reason FOR the disguise.
As for the infamous Movie, I kinda liked Eric Roberts as the Master, but he went a little crazy near the end -- and very silly. Not a favorite, but he was interesting. I haven't heard the Big Finish audios with him, but he's a good actor and might bring something new to the table.
I have always liked Derek Jacobi as an actor ever since I Claudius -- I watched Vicious! primarily because of him -- and it would be interesting if they found an excuse to bring him as the Master back one last time. Again, I haven't heard the Big Finish audios, but he's good. And then John Simm. I first saw him on Life on Mars, and his take on the Master was a revelation. He was fantastic in the role, although, yet again, he went more into crazy mode than I was comfortable with, but he was capable of the quiet moments too. He hasn't topped Delgado for me, but he's close.
Unfortunately, the one Master I really couldn't take was Michelle Gomez' Missy. I felt there was absolutely nothing of the Master in her. IMO, Missy has little charm, she's not very menacing, and, frankly, there was nothing about her I recognized. She could have been the Rani, and it wouldn't have made a difference to the character. I just felt Missy never worked either as a frenemy or as a villain. As for Sascha Dhawan, I like his take on the role - the return of Ainley's master of disguise approach works for him - but I kinda fell out of watching the series since I never liked Capaldi and didn't really warm to Whittaker. I am curious where Dhawan will take the character, but right now, he's third on my list after Delgado and Simm. I look forward to seeing more of him.

I love Dhawan, Simm and Gomez the most personally, I really hope we get to see Dhawan play the master with a better writer in the future as well because in my opinion the Chibnall era is pretty weak compared to other eras of nuwho such as Davies and Moffat

Yay! So glad Roger Delgado's no. 1. Loved how 3rd Doctor and Delgado Master were like Sherlock Holmes vs. Professor Moriarty. And the Brigadier was sort of Dr. Watson.

My personal no 1 is Mechele Gomez but I get why she's not everyone's favioute. I tend to love fun psychopaths (normally women) and she is the most fun out of all the versions of the Master. She's not angry, she's playful. She laughs like she can't help herself, and it's a genuine laugh, not an attempt at intimidation. Also her redemption ark in season 10 was amazing. I get why people dont like these things, but I Love them

My favourite is probably Michel Gomez I love John Simm basically equally for different reasons though.
    I hate Eric Roberts Master.
I haven’t seen the classic Masters.
Then I rlly like Sasha’s performance however I hope he’s pre Missy just cuz I love her ending and his characterisation in timeless child is kinda off.
Jacobi Master I love and think we saw him the perfect amount for the story.

Get and watch the classic series with the master when you can. Terror of the autons when he first appears is not only a fantastic 3rd doctor story(my favourite Pertwee story) but a amazing master story.

@@animelovers000 ye I sometimes flirt with the idea of watching classic who it’s just I don’t know if the production is gonna bother me. Like I wanna be able to get invested. I watched some like 10 years ago after the 50th I watched an unearthly child and three doctors and the odd other story and tbf I do remember rlly enjoying the 3 doctors and it did feel like the same show as I watch now. I know it’s non canon but I also like the Peter Cushing movies of Doctor who as well saw them in the cinema but I rlly don’t like the Doctor who tv movie. I just don’t know where to watch. I think Baker or Pertwe appeals to me the most
