    One of my best friends as a teenage had the same year 2004 crf250r brand new. it was the fastest thing I ever rode at the time I was is shock with the torque and sound that thing had. Thanks for the video. I may have to find one for myself as a play bike in the yard and some tight single track now that this generation can be had under 2500 now.

    Hey man congrats on your rebuild!! Glad you’re moving on to bigger bikes, i ended up selling that 150 of mine because i was down on my luck financially. Almost had it done but i couldnt get the valve guides reamed. Oh well. Hope this comment finds you well and i cant wait for more content!

    Great video man! I just picked up one and going through it. So far it rips and is in pretty good shape. Pretty much stock! Bike sounds strong, pulls and just wants to go! I was looking at "younger" models, but this one I kept an eye on and it was the one. Have fun and post up if you do any mods or wrenching.

    have an 04 crf250r as well, has been very reliable. Never rebuilt and has been running very strong but, soon will prob take a look at the valves. Heard that should be checked like once a year on these older hondas.

      Yea for sure but if it ever becomes a problem have seats cut and s.s valves then your set for a long time

    Compression kick it and she'll fire first kick every time (granted your valves are shimmed correctly). I've got an 04 250 and a 450, great bikes

    How often are you doing maintenance? New to riding and picked one of these up prob not the best choice for a beginner but it was cheap and a friends

    • @BHMoto
      @BHMoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I change my oil after every 8 rides or so keep chain lubed / check for slack / install hour meter to keep track of engine hours

  • @levis.9408
    @levis.9408 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm also on a 150f, and really want something good for technical trails and maybe some jumps, been looking at an 04 250r for a while, do you know when the top end needs to be rebuilt?

    • @BHMoto
      @BHMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends how hard you ride the bike and maintain it, typically a rebuild on a four stroke ends up around 80-100 hours

  • @RadMachines
    @RadMachines 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice bike! Not the most reliable one though. Those have some crank issues. So change the oil on time these need a lot more matience then the 150f!

    • @ryankibler1282
      @ryankibler1282 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you even know what your talking about? i have never seen an 04 with a single crank issue.

    • @BHMoto
      @BHMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s kinda a common issue on old bikes in general but more towards the Honda, but it rly just depends how much you keep up with maintenance and keep the bike in nice shape

    • @ryankibler1282

      @@BHMoto older honda’s have more of a valve problem than crank. anyways just toss a hot rods crank in it then you’ll be good

    • @in7el11
      @in7el11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ryankibler1282 he's 100% right, should check the valves at least like once a year.

    what do you like for trail riding? 250 or 150 better?

    • @BHMoto
      @BHMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly the 250 because I’m still comfortable on it and go faster but the 150 is a fun little play bike

    • @BHMoto
      @BHMoto  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Suzuki 4 strokes aren’t the most reliable especially the older ones, personally I would wait for a better deal unless it runs and sounds good
