Praying she wins, most importantly that God's favor would be upon her!!!! And that after Idol, He will lead & use her!!!! This is SO much BIGGER than Idol & a singing competition. Praying that even now, each time she sings that God would be glorified & others would be reached as she's a vessel!!! Luke was about to cry 😅 But seriously, this was very heart warming. So tender, powerful, and authentic.
Luke has experienced SO much loss!!! Rite b4 he 1st wz gonna go 2 Nashville, he lost his older brother & he just couldn't leave esp his mom. His Dad eventually had 2 fire Luke, so he'd go 2 Nashville 2 pursue his dream. But not long after he started 2 become successful, his oldest sister planned a party 4 him, little did Luke know, it would b the last time he saw he her. I can't imagine losing all ur siblings.. Then a yr & 1/2 later, he lost his brother-in-law, whom he said he grew up, due 2b the youngest. His nephew wanted 2 live w/ them. He left 4 College this yr. Luke's youngest son, wz super attached 2 him & always slept w/ his older cousin. He only wanted 1 thing 4 his B-day. They managed 2 surprise him, as it wz hving his older cousin home. They took footage of it. I think he cried & u can hear Luke in the bkground. As he said he wz getting choked up. I can't recall his nephew's name. But when he tried 2 put Luke's youngest son down, there wz no way he wz letting go. It wz beautiful that Luke walked his niece down the aisle at her wedding. I recall last yr, when Huntergirl performed her original song "Red Bird," whn the top 3 sang the songs that were recorded. Luke had his own family there whn they performed. I'd never heard, a meaning behind Red Birds. Afterwards Luke said his whole family wz a mess & that 4 that reason they named their farm "Red Bird."
So beautifully done. I'm a 56 yr old man who cried like a baby listening to her sing. I always think of my dad who passed 6 yrs ago and what a tribute to all papas.

@@1mondavia2 I heard Carrie sing it that nite & it was amazing!!!! BUT I don't know, there's just something about Megan that is just 'Other worldly"!!! Curious what other songs she'll sing. I DID think, she would do an amazing job singing "Jesus Take Wheel" Carrie Underwood's 1st hit!!!! Or "How Great Thou Art" as I've listened to Carrie sing that hymn again & again. Or "If I Can Only Imagine" done in Megan's way would be amazing!!!!

I don't think it is a matter of whether Megan will win. Megan is so humble and has an extra-ordinary, God given gift. Her voice is anointed. And I don't say that lightly or throw that observation around without being convinced of it.
And I think Luke sees it and knows it. This is just the beginning for her. I can see her at the Grand Ole Opry and I can see her in a humble little church. She is the real deal.
I LOVED what all the judges said, BUT I was really struck by what Lionel said Megan. 'Her ability to "TOUCH PEOPLE!!!" SO.... TRUE! I have yet NOT teared up, during one of her performances!!!!!

I was praying for one from my dad the last two days because I miss him so much. I lost him to leukemia. I turned the show on right at your performance. That was also my dads song at his funeral. I would love to hear this young lady sing the whole song. Megan, you gave me chills while you sang this song. On November 28,2016, my 29-year-old son was killed while restoring power. I know that God is taking great care of him, but mom sure misses her little boy.
If you didn't believe in miracles before tonight, this performance should make you a believer! God's grace shines through Megan when she's singing. I couldn't contain the tears. So proud of Megan for staying strong while singing this dedication for her Pawpaw who is certainly watching from above and I can imagine he's beyond proud of her.
