I love that Katy asked for his fathers name in the first audition. It really means a lot to just hear their name said out loud to ppl who’ve lost loved ones. RIP Rodney
His story touched me very hard, I lost my precious momma when she was 29 years old and I was 8 years old, my momma had spinal meningitis and when she was 4 years old she had surgery on her back and also had to learn to walk all over again, the Drs told my beautiful grandparents the SM (spinal meningitis) could leave her and she would be fine, or it may not, so on Sept 2,1975 She couldn't take the pain of hurting any longer, and she ended all the pain and hurting and took her own life to stop the pain, I'm not going into detail of how she did it, because that is between me, my daddy and God only....... That story touched me the hardest of them all, because it hit home hard....... But I know one day soon I will see my precious momma and my amazing daddy that I just lost a year this coming August 21st and I was 57....... My heart breaks for anyone that has lost or will lose a loved one to suicide....... But myself I try to stay strong for myself and for my family that I've lost, because the next person could be another family member, a friend or even a stranger, I try my best to help with awareness on suicide and also DM........ My prayers go up very strong for everyone, even strangers daily, we just never know when our time here on this cruel earth is over with and God calls us home with him.......... God Bless and love to each and everyone of you all ✝️ ❤ ✝️

My son's school is only 15 minutes from Santa Fe. Having him come home and tell me that very day of the Santa Fe shooting that he was scared to go to school just broke my heart. My condolences to everyone who lost someone killed by senseless violence. Things have got to change! 😔
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness where the words this country was built on. I just don’t see how that’s possible when our child are not safe.
My husband passed away unexpectedly when my kids were 8, 11, and 13. Driving home from the funeral "I'm Already There" came on the radio and we all lost it. That year, 2001, the song would come up at the strangest times - the last I remember was driving home that first Christmas Eve. That song always brings me to tears, even 23 years later.
I saw Iam Tongi at Disneyland on Tuesday (5/9) on a school field trip. We had also saw Sofia Carson there. I was able to hear his beautiful voice and now I got to hear it again! ROOTING FOR YOU IAM!! God has great things in store for you

Why blame the politicians or for that matter the country? Perhaps folks need to grow up and recognize that the gun culture of America is the problem. Glad I live in Canada.
@@margaretpigot5503Because the country was founded on a flawed constitution and the politicians refuse to amend that constitution in an ethical way that reflects the morals that said country SHOULD be employing. America's gun culture didn't just happen one day. It was cultivated under a right that should have been scratched out of the constitution decades ago by the very politicians that stand and make speeches about how sad it is that children keep being killed in school shootings. The irony of that makes me just as angry as Katy Perry and I'm not even American.
What a stunning voice Willy had. I'm blown away. I don't understand how we lose so many beautiful souls and yet people like Trump are here poisoning the country only to tell others they're poisoning the country. WTF?
Katy is right, the government has failed the people. The line in the Constitution granting the right to bare arms refers to state militias which needed to be armed to preserve the freedoms of each state and consequently the whole of the United States. Along with the right to bare arms comes the responsibility to use those weapons only for the defence of the freedom of the USA, the states and individuals. So how does the gun lobby justify the malcontents, the socially maladjusted, the irresponsible and possibly the insane getting access to firearms. The gun lobbyists won't even consider the slightest restriction based on weapon type (assault weapons, really?) or on the demonstrated responsibility of the owner. Why? Because the politicians are cowards who cannot imagine their donations being taken away, even if it means that innocent people and children have their lives taken away. The politicians are either cowards or just plain power greedy. And the only thing that will change the politicians is the will of the people. The people must form their own lobby groups and tell politicians they will not get their vote until they change the law to restrict weapons to responsible people and restrict the type of weapons to the less deadly. Good luck America.
You know what. I am almost 50 years old, I have been in this country a long time. Americans have history. A history of not liking bureaucrats and governments. A history of bending the rules, to make things fairer. Often, you find Robinhoods, who steal and give to the poor. Sometimes, Americans get upset, and an argument will get out of control, and it goes bad. Sometimes, their is desperation, that make some steal, and it goes bad. But what Americans do not do. is go into a school of innocent Children and open fire. So I don't know who these kids are, ..... But they are not American. They have not been raised American, wherever they are from, whatever institution that is raising them, its not an American system.
@@7caratstar You're probably right, they are not Americans in the sense they do not hold values which typically make America great. They are mentally ill. And the American legislators give them AR15s. It is irrelevant whether they are American or not because the consequences remain the same. Dead school children. Change the causes.
The fact that so many people AREN'T commenting about the kid that lost his friends during a school shooting makes me know how desensitized people have gotten to this kind of stuff. Something has to change!

You know I truly believe in my heart that when someone sings and it brings emotions out of you that person singing is one of gods angels on earth. Showing us that no matter what we can show emotion and shed tears when our heart is opened up with a story or a song.
Me too. It’s so true because it just happens spontaneously. I came here from a meme video and was moved to tears instantly with each story. I can’t relate to losing a parent, having a military family, car accident, school sh**ter or really any traumatic event but when these people sing with their whole heart and soul it’s truly loving. I’m so grateful for music and country music really seems to shine in this compilation and I think it’s just the most beautiful genre. This video was a reminder of some really great songs!! 🥲
This video DRAINED MY TEARS ! my heart hurts for each and everyone of them ! Sobbing with the last guy !thank you for sharing with the world! All great things coming for them !💕
OMG... I've cried every single one of these auditions. This is my second time watching them the last couple weeks. Wow! Life can seriously wipe the emotion out of you over time! This video will reach out and make you feel everything all at once! Thank you American Idol!
It's so great to be able to have your father with you.I I lost my dad and I am still in denial and it's hard to be able to move on my dad was my best friend and I miss him so much and I am asking GOD to keep him safe and, I hope that where ever he's at that I am not forgotten because he will always be in my heart 💜❤️
I enjoyed all of these individuals. Thank you for putting this together. I was really taken by Oliver Steele. I loved his voice, but, wow, he's a great guitarist in his own right. I couldn't help but cry during several of these performances. I live for music; it's always wonderful to see those who feel the same. Thank you for this video again!
Mikenley, you’re beautiful!!!!! I love your style, I love your personality, your dads support and beautiful guitar skills, your voice. Phenomenal performance!!!!
The guy who sang his original song “something to write about” those lyrics were incredible, his soul wrote that song. Hope him and his sister and of course all the other performers are doing okay
30:20 Ughhh... i felt this. I lost my Father about 23 years ago and my mother hasn't ever dated since he passed. They were H.S. sweethearts, each others firsts and only's. Now my mother has Alzheimers and it's the toughest thing I've ever gone through. Prayers and/or positive vibes to anybody who needs them right now. ❤
Kaylin made me burst into tears. Never lost a parent and never had a parent in the military. But her performance reminded me of how beautiful that song is. God I love music and I love country music especially. Cheers to Kaylin and her family and thanks so much to them for their sacrifice. ❤
This was purely awesome. Fought with my tears nearly at every audition. And the heart in every voice...unbelievable! I'm feeling kind of emberrassed for my country Germany. Our version of Idol sticks to the focus on people singing bad and afterwards the judges make fun of them. Would like to see auditions with true music that inspires people
OMG!!! I have cried this whole episode!!! So many heartbreaking and gutwrenching stories, but these amazing people stepped up and did the "thang!" God Bless them all!
Sorry about your Mom Your Grandparents were there because they love you. Wow your Grandmother so sorry for you and your grandpa.Never change how you feel for him cause he was always there for you and that is unconditional love what we all need 💯❤❤
Knew he was the Winner after that first Edition. What a beautiful Voice & authentic Spirit. He's the Real Deal - was happy for him. TOUGH Competition this year and so many incredibly Gifted Artists making this Win that much more impressive.
I could listen to Elijah all day long, and I am sound sensitive. His voice is super comforting in all parts of its wide range, and his authenticity in his delivery is beyond ‘star’ quality. This song, especially, conveys so much gratitude, which probably explains his authenticity. He is a grateful young man with a strong faith in Christ.
Yeah exactly but you have these socialist like Katy who want to take guns away from everyone besides her armed security guards. What a joke that she’s on stage crying and making it about her and how scared she is
What about a failure of American Citizens to FOLLOW the laws? You ever thought that these people were breaking the laws? No? When does responsibility fall on those who perpetrate the crimes? Stop scapegoating and place the blame where it lies.
We blame new generations. They are different but is heartbreaking how many of them go through and still very good and loved and talented. Thanks for never giving up.
That song "Something to write about." I would buy that song tomorrow it was brilliant. And he is so right. Depression can creep up on you, but sometimes it can jump on you from nowhere, like when my mum passed away. It knocked me down hard.
My heart hurts for you, Preston. So, so much. Please record this song. Please. I need it. My soul needs it. There aren’t words. And never stop singing OR writing. Please. You have a true gift.

OMG... I've cried every single one of these auditions. This is my second time watching them the last couple weeks. Wow! Life can seriously wipe the emotion out of you over time! This video will reach out and make you feel everything all at once! Thank you American Idol!
Same. This is to.much
Overcoming an ED isnt easy, that girl is an inspiration and her voice is incredible! Also her style and her dads style kicks ass. Love them!
Just be yourself and don't let anyone change your heart which is so beautiful like your voice.all the best to you
Made me cry. It’s so hard :(
As a husband, and a dad that would be so cool to surprise your wife and kids that way.
Kya monee ❤rest in heavenly peace to her friend .your voice moved me😢
I enjoyed all of these individuals. Thank you for putting this together. I was really taken by Oliver Steele. I loved his voice, but, wow, he's a great guitarist in his own right. I couldn't help but cry during several of these performances. I live for music; it's always wonderful to see those who feel the same. Thank you for this video again!
They all were so beautiful. Preston’s original song was really beautiful.
Mikenley, you’re beautiful!!!!! I love your style, I love your personality, your dads support and beautiful guitar skills, your voice. Phenomenal performance!!!!
The guy who sang his original song “something to write about” those lyrics were incredible, his soul wrote that song. Hope him and his sister and of course all the other performers are doing okay
yes i also love how he also made it about God🤍🫶🏽✝️ need more of that in this generation God bless you and yours in sm ways!
The voice of the boy who was in the car accident was awesome and I believe in guardian angels😇
I always hope these celebrities are humbled by these everyday people with extraordinary talent and stories

Ughhh... i felt this.
❤
I’m so sorry for your loss and about your mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. I will Lee you in my thoughts and prayers ❤
Would like to see auditions with true music that inspires people
Damn that first song broke me down , respect for him to hold thru and keep singing
Genuine question, how can someone watch this TH-cam video without crying your eyes out? I cried so much and I have so much respect for these people!
I didn't but I'm gen z so maybe I'm broken, lol.
Impossible to not cry there for me
@@Coolstopanimation-z8nahah its possible..
“You should be singing here because you love music not because…😢” pls sing for the people who want to sing and bring them the emotions for singing😢❤
OMG!!! I have cried this whole episode!!! So many heartbreaking and gutwrenching stories, but these amazing people stepped up and did the "thang!" God Bless them all!
Okay. All of these made me cry. So much talent and you can hear the emotion in all of their voices 😢
What an emotional performance! Wow! I'm not crying, you're crying...
Oliver Steels killed me.
What a man.
❤🥲
Sorry about your Mom Your Grandparents were there because they love you. Wow your Grandmother so sorry for you and your grandpa.Never change how you feel for him cause he was always there for you and that is unconditional love what we all need 💯❤❤
Wow!! 😢🥺🥹😭😭😭😭 I couldn't stop the tears from flowing down my face!! I love that song that 1st guy sang, and he did the song more than justice.
All were great but these especially touched me: Iam Tongi, Preston Duffee, Jon Wayne Hatfield
Preston Dufee ....omg...ĝreat bro!!
Keep it up!!!
Thanks for all these brave souls. Listening to their life stories gave me hope that what Im facing....its going to be alright. ❤😢
He came to another league. One of the best pure strong voice i ever listen
All these auditions were amazing. Had me in tears 😢.
And you tube commercials come on at the most inopportune times!!
Truth
All these auditions were freaking emotional but the 2nd has been hitting me different and Katy is 100% right about failure in America's laws💔
Ur right! Banning guns in school is stupid. Armed officers woulda stopped that madman in short order.
Yeah exactly but you have these socialist like Katy who want to take guns away from everyone besides her armed security guards. What a joke that she’s on stage crying and making it about her and how scared she is
The greatest amount of gun violence is done in gun free zones.
What about a failure of American Citizens to FOLLOW the laws? You ever thought that these people were breaking the laws? No? When does responsibility fall on those who perpetrate the crimes?
Stop scapegoating and place the blame where it lies.
@@justjosie8963 no like thes
We blame new generations. They are different but is heartbreaking how many of them go through and still very good and loved and talented. Thanks for never giving up.
That song "Something to write about." I would buy that song tomorrow it was brilliant. And he is so right. Depression can creep up on you, but sometimes it can jump on you from nowhere, like when my mum passed away. It knocked me down hard.
My heart hurts for you, Preston. So, so much. Please record this song. Please. I need it. My soul needs it. There aren’t words. And never stop singing OR writing. Please. You have a true gift.
So beautiful I'm in tears 😢😢 this breaks my heart for him when he sings you can feel it 💔 in your heart I downloaded this song because I am older and I listen to country music but after hearing this young man pour out his heart I had to have it got bless you. And you deserve to be in the top 5 I pray 🙏 you win 🏆 we will keep voting for you my dear
This needs a pre-warning ⚠️ This will make you cry a few times throughout watching this video. So much beautiful talent
Hahaha 100%
Ohh gush! Cam Amen´s performance completely broke me to tears. I LOOOVE that song, And Cam´s story hit me so hard
I'm shaking,crying and can't hardly see but thank God I can hear ♥ !
My God tongi song got me cry like the day my dad passed away 😢
"You're not my dad, I'm not your son, we're just two grown man saying goodbye" 😭😭😭
So emotional ,great voices ,the guitars playing was sublime . All so talented
As Kya was singing, it wasn't just greatness you hear, it's also pain, some type of pain someone can't feel unless you are physically there with her.
I lost my mom when I was 10 years old I'm 33 years old now I miss her each and every day wish she was here today to see the man i became
Elijah's voice just melted my heart. I am sobbing!
He have such an Amazing voice one of the best i have listen in m'y life
You all were very good, so very good, but Mr Elijah I could sit and listen to you for hours and hours and never get tired of it I'm so glad you're still here for your Mama's sake, almost losing my oldest daughter I fully understand what she was going through bless you dear I'm so glad you still have your boy... Love to you both ❤
Elijah is one another league
I literally cried uncontrollably at every single one of these 🤦♀️😂
This IS crazy and too much for a Real empathic human 😂🥲😅
I cry so much, i have no tears anymore
LOVE seeing folks from Indiana on shows like this, it makes me so happy to see my home state represented. My heart goes out to all the contestants who experienced trauma and/or loss
i hope first kid wins😢😢😮😊😊
I hope they all have a great life and a great career or success in music.
he did ‼️
He did!! I was so happy!!
Iam Tongi made me cry many times during this season. He's amazing, and you can feel his emotion.
Katy really struggled to get out the “we thank him for his service” part out lol. But my god these ladies and gentleman are just killing it
This man is a storyteller! The hallmark of a true artist! He was blessed by God to do this!! Beautiful
Tell me Ray was awesome what a great son. Hallelujah wow that was beautiful.
Nobody's talking about Ray and Jon but my god, I'm CRYING
God gave us music to heal our sorrow, pain and loneliness. Blessings to everyone who has a story to tell!😊
Something to write about just brought me to tears I just loved it.
The first guys had me in tears 😢 he did amazing ❤
All of them for me 😂 like all of them this IS madness
As a mental patient, I can totally relate. It's very hard to live with. Please make sure you check on those friends who are having a tough time in life. They need your support ❤
Iam Tongi was absolutely beautiful.
Ian Tongi's audition, i heard the judges went to Hawaii bc of his audition and that means they truly believe and want him to win the whole competition.
Well well well look who won...
They don’t go every season? I thought they did.
Welp, look who won!
@@sourcow56 to Hawaii? I don't think so.
Should have Googled your theory before sharing it. Season 20, before Iam's season, had their top 24 in Hawaii too. Season 22, after Iam's season also had their top 24 in Hawaii. Disney owns ABC, and this round is filmed in early Feb so a great filming location in winter
@@sourcow56 They filmed this round in Hawaii for seasons 20,21, and 22. Disney owns ABC and this is a great locale to shoot at in early February, especially weather-wise
I hate that his mom committed suicide. Not everyone can deal with the trials and tri ulations life and the world throws at you. I have lived with depression/anxiety amongst other mental health issues my whole life. Now i am a mom of 2 a boy and a girl and no matter how hard life gets i could never leave them. Never. I pray for his family and for anyone and everyone struggleing with mental illness. You have to keep going. You have to stay strong. Never think you are alone.
Omg the broken road. He's amazing with all he has been through
Man. The Kya one got me right in the feels. As someone who followed Willie before he was even on American Idol that one really got me.
She made him proud with that audition. Good on ya gurl.
You are still here for your purpose. So live your life to the fullest 🙏❤💯
So good to hear the stories, those emerging from the rubbles and making a difference with their lives.
IAM TONGI IS OUR NEW AMERICAN IDOL!!! TEAM IAM FOREVAAAHHH!!🤗🇦🇸
War Hero, My inspiration, my friend my dad. My hero ❤ my dad was true and true country boy at heart. Riding horses and just loving the country life. But watching this with my dad. I'm going to miss that.. in loving memory of my daddy... RIP Peter July 19, 2024 now it's my time to chase the monster's away 😢 the first guy was our favorite 😢😢😢😢😢
