Hi there, thanks for your kind comment 👍 That was a serious system you had to leave behind. But as I said in the video, and you confirm it, a small system can really be captivating if well matched - Thanks for the compliment 👍
I have them in a bedroom system connected to a Pioneer SX750 and it’s very nice. Sitting on top of piece of bedroom furniture that butts against the wall , the bass is surprisingly deep and can actually be heard on the other end of the house. I won’t be selling these:)
Your review sealed the deal for me to buy these speakers. Just received them. Very well packaged double carton box with wood skeleton on the outside. Paired them with SMSL SU9 Dac Preamp + SMSL DA-9 Power Amp + REL TZeros. For near field listening in my work office. So far so good. I think I've got a combo that'll last me for a while. Fantastic mid-range and treble. Great imaging. Sound stage is not relevant for me cos of super near field use. Low end is reinforced by my RELs very well. Plays any genre of music well.
Hi, thanks for sharing your feedback as it can help others researching this. How far are you sitting from these speakers in your office? Would you think these play good in a ~2.5m listening distance? And importantly, do these play well with low volume? Thank you in advance.
@@Untilitpases the speakers are between 30-50cm from my head. 1.5m apart from each other. About 5 degree toe in. 15 degree elevation so the mid point of the speaker between the tweeter and woofer are firing at ear level.
@@Untilitpases yes low volume is good enough for me. 2.5m distance should be good too as long as your room is not too big. Having a subwoofer really helps complete the soundstage and overall sound quality and ability to play more types of music. But these are perfect on their own if you value mid range and vocals above all else and have a $600 budget.
Hoi ivar.

I bought last Saturday at a thrift store a pair of Chartwell LS 3 / 5 for 2.95 each speaker.

I bought a pair and I enjoy them very much. Very good if you are sensitive to good tone and for small room.

Enjoyable, informative review. To all the "expert naysayers" --- reserve comments until you have heard them. And, I mean in person. Not on TH-cam.
Nice review! I like the new touch!
Thanks. Appreciate the feedback 👍☕️🔊
Good review as usual. They are nice speakers. The original Rogers were somewhat legendary. Best wishes Terry uk 🇬🇧 👍.

Een hele leuke review. Waar zijn de speakersnu? Heb je ze nog in je bezit?
Dank, ik had ze te leen. Helaas weg dus
Nice small speaker to sit on the shelf beside my fake rolex watch.
Excellent review. Did you pair them with a sub?
Hi Peter. Thanks. I reviewed them without a sub. Just wanted to know what they could do on their own.
well done.
👍
You have already listened to the original LS3/5a Rogers in my man cave, perhaps an addition to what you have experienced as a difference?
Hi Michael, yes I know, but it was already a long time ago I had the SoundArtists in my house so I was not sure enough to include it 👍
