By adding 5 degrees to the heel block angle you will ensure positive lock up of the slide assembly. Also, when I would design a slide mechanism for molds, I would ensure that the heel block carried all of the pressure of the injection force. The pin did not have any slide pressure placed on it during the injection process. I hope this helps.
