Yeah I agree 100%. Hell I don't think I've ever found myself using Unbound in any play through. By the time you get it, there's practically nothing left to do in the game anyway aside from maybe Julius if you haven't beaten him yet, or the special portals which are a cakewalk at that point. Magic is so OP in this game between the Balloon spells, Firaga Burst, Meteor, Deep Freeze, Dark Firaga, etc, there's almost no reason to use physical commands or normal combos much at all. Considering how easy it is to A rank dive missions, I'll usually use Dive Wing for the rest of the game, or End of Pain which I actually disagree with the notion that it's bad because it's actually the best end game keyblade for final bosses and secret portals if you do the special portals while playing the main story, which I recommend you do anyway for all the Dream Pieces and EXP/DP. Only reason I'd ever see myself using Unbound is if I was spamming Flomotion instead of Magic for what ever reason.

I found End of Pain easier to obtain than you make it sound as it is a pre-requisite to the keyblade for the Secret Portals. It isn't actually a bad keyblade and is easier to obtain than Ultima because you do not have to wait until post-game. That aside this was an informative as always guide that revealed to me key blades I forgot existed. End of Pain is the only reason I did decent damage to Nightmare Ventus Armor this morning XD Thanks for making guides that encourage discussion though, and for being an overall awesome keyblade wielder.
The thing that bothered me about Dream Drop Distance, is that all non story related keyblades (apart from the dive wing and flick rush one) can only be obtained after completing the story, I remember on the DS where I went to the trouble to get the ultima weapon as I do in every KH game. But once I had it I was like hmn okay well thats it I guess. Theres really no point in getting it. I liked the non story keyblades in other KH games because it was like you could put extra effort in the game to make the end game stuff easier. But if you already completed the story theres really no point in having a cool keyblade :/
Not to necro a post, but I believe End of Pain is technically doable before beating the game. I don't believe that there is a restriction on special portals appearing (besides maybe Portal 6 not appearing until portals 1 thru 5 are completed), so you could beat them and get End of Pain before beating TWTNW. That being said, most people will likely just beat the game before attempting End of Pain anyway, but you COULD get that keyblade before postgame in theory.
Yeah it's actually insane. Think Seeker Mine from BBS, except stronger and follows enemies in the air while sometimes confusing them. You also get it super early in the game, considering all you have to do is A rank the Pranksters Paradise Dive mission with Sora which can be done immediately after Traverse Town. It's the bread and butter command for basically all scenarios because it can home in on groups of enemies and also rips big bosses to shreds. Balloonga is good too but it does consistently less damage due to its mechanics, and takes longer to reload. Balloon is basically just Mine Square but deals more damage and has a wider radius. Basically, if you aren't using at least 1-2 Balloon commands, you are kinda just screwin yourself over.

nerokeymaster play it with any dreameater with the special move elixir elixir reloads all of your cards and heals you slightly so use it whenever you get low on cards and when you need HP landing hits ,guarding correctly, and having high health award you with better medals

I recommend bringing two Dream Eaters that have Megaflare, and one that has Elixir. For those last two rounds, the Nightmares have a bad habit of changing their strategy in the middle of their attacks. If they see you defending, they'll defend to make you waste your cards. I recommend defending ONLY at the last possible second to try to catch them off guard and trigger Megaflare or Elixir.

Riku also gets Unbound but doesn't use it during DDD, but between the events of DDD and KH3, as according to the Sleeping Realm Theory. So... How do I cheese Flick Rush? I'm really not good at it.
Either the Elixir method or the Mega Flare method. Both boil down to doing the following: 1) Defend enemy attack to transform your card to said special card. 2) Use special card. 2a) If the Elixir is your special card, use other attacks (Catanuki in HD has a very OP bouncing attack that destroys health bars). 3) Go back to Step 1.
It's good, but Ultima and Unbound surpass it. Also, you likely won't get End of Pain until after the start of postgame since it requires beating all of the special portals (39 of them per character), but it IS possible to get it before endgame if you grind special portals. Most playthroughs usually have the player end with either Divewing or Counterpoint (if you don't get A ranks for all Dives), however, since special portals take some time to find.
Okay well I completed every special portal for Sora and got the End of Pain for him but I can’t find any more portals for Riku and I circled through the worlds like 5-10 times and didn’t find anything left for Riku
I still haven't beaten symphony of sorcery or The country of musketeers but I golded their dive missions with sora and all the others but I didn't get it

Unbound is pretty useless if you ask me, there's no reason to get the strongest Keyblade in the game AFTER you beat the hardest Bosses in the game, it's like One Winged Angel from KH1 Final Mix or No Name from Birth By Sleep, it's like "Ok now i have the strongest Keyblade, but there's nothing left that is worth to kill"

I didn't even know some of these existed. End of Pain is definitely the most badass looking keyblade of all of them though.

I actually think Divewing is the coolest looking keyblade in the series, but that's just me.

Make sure your stacked cards are 5+ if it's below that it might as well be nothing.
1. Defend
2. Get megaflare
3. Use megaflare
4. Repeat until they're dead
5. Win
