Austin Wintory composed the music for the game Journey too. So no surprise the music is so perfect, pulling at ones heartstrings just in every emotional direction.

Austin Wintory didn't do the music for this game though. It was composed by Joel Corelitz.

Not having a go at you, but instead of saying that and being depressed about it, look at tutorials. Google exists and has plenty to help you out for free. Hell, I envy people who get into art later in life because they have so much more to help them, video tutorials, courses, speedpaints. I even have a reference blog to help me get along if you want to use it (referencesfor-me.tumblr.com/). As for coding, internet has plenty of sites to help, I for one bought a book for $10 on basic game coding.

I stopped the video at 12 minutes because I found myself talking to the screen telling John what to do when I could just buy the game and play it myself. And I did. I have to say that while it is quite a short and simple game, it's very interesting and unlike any other puzzle game I've played. So if you're willing to spend $12 (Its on sale on Steam) on a cool new puzzle game I definitely recommend it.

Criss Bastidas He should try out this one series I grew up with based on the Nancy Drew books. There’s no lack of options to choose from (30+!!) and only a handful of TH-camrs have played any of them. I’m new to this guy’s channel but one video in and I can tell he’d be good for it. Lol

the notion of enlightenment coming from that which you find within your experiences rather than the items we strive for is amazing as a concept for a game, as a visual work of art and gaming - speaking towards the ability for art and tech to bring us together beyond language as John states - basically SO GOOD

This game reminded me heavily of the games Journey and Abzu. (In terms of silence and story telling through pictures to use a type of universal language.) Amazingly simplistic graphics and designs continue to stun me as to how they fit with the music. This is exactly why games like these can be just as enjoyable as some of the more graphic intensive games. Thank you John, for playing this amazing game and sharing it with us!

This was the most creative, amazing, beautiful game I've seen in a few years. The story is quite clear through just pure, unadulterated storytelling, it didn't overstay its welcome, it was just such an experience that I'm gonna buy it on Steam and play it myself. I almost cried when I saw the little guy in the wheelchair. Such awesome art and music. I'm honestly touched. This is what people mean when they say games are a form of art. This is an excellent example.

This is honestly the most unique, magical, and outright beautiful games I have ever seen. It is so well done, executed absolutely spectacularly. Incredible and mind-blowing. And I am so, so glad John got to play this - it makes me happy to really see him enjoy himself and get into it. And it's nice break for him to play something this good outside of his usual, knowing that what is available now is severely limited and not very good (or downright awful).

I played this game last year and I loved it. It left me feeling really tender, but it's not scary and it's not going to gut you emotionally. You are going on this weird journey with the character and hes processing some things. There is a sense of safety, of observing , while helping him navigate his story.

My interpretation of the game would be-
A young boy saw the dragon and was inspired to find out what it was.
He spent his whole life studying just to unravel the mysteries behind the mystical creature he saw that day.
Years and years passed by, he spent his days only trying to find an answer but never got one.
The player basically narrates his story of how he discovered the five symbols associated with the dragon.
Eventually, he grew older and older and when he finally solved the puzzle, he ascended into the heavens and becoming part of the dragon. They are one.

Admittedly upon seeing this games beginning and the name Annapurna Interactive, I was sure this would be a Giant Sparrow game. That doesn't however mean I am disappointed. I think this is in the same caliber of inspiring, beautiful and unique gameplay I have come to expect with GS.
This is yet another example of who Annapurna allies with being *amazing.* I think this dev is another one to watch. It also reminds me of The Unfinished Swan (albeit way more colorful) with the panels being like the book.
