Having said all that they are both great modern "retro" bikes and I am happy they exist. Want them both.
Interesting information I don’t know much about the original bikes but now you mention a Ducati sound, maybe that’s why I drank to it. To me the bike was great fun to ride and feels special so I probably will buy a second hand one it time.
100% agree. The last real Triumph Twin , for me, was the 2008. Air cooled with a proper 360 crank and carburettors. It really puzzles me why so many riders don't know the difference. The bike looks great, but don't
think it will sell well its over priced.
I didn’t find it pushed my legs out but this is why I do make a point of mentioning my height. I don’t think 17k is expensive in todays world but I guess it depends on how much money you earn
Is it fast enough and is only 5 gears too much of a compromise
I kept on trying for a 6th gear thought. Habbit I guess
Don't forget most of the original Norton's and Triumph's only had 4 gears...
The price they’re asking for bikes these days is laughable!! Can’t see how they can justify such high prices!!
Made in England I recon 🏴
I have a 2015 model and I would not class it as modern performance.
I’ve riden a 2014 model and there’s a big difference on the new models
@thatbikersimon go on then explain?
@@bikefever3569 sorry I thought I. Was commenting on my S1000XR video. 😔
Not for me…over priced, dubious build, under powered, vibrations…firm seat!…but a triumph.
I nearly bought the triumph a few years ago but now I’ve riden the Norton it would have to be this one.
And Triumph isn’t overpriced
Still has an old school push rod engine, should have been a modern tec overhead cam unit.
Its add to the character. Norton has created a old school bike in a modern world
@@thatbikersimon In some ways, it's good in that there are no camchain worries, and the hydraulic tappets make it low maintenance. I can recall only a couple of Hondas which had overhead cams with hydraulic adjusters, the CBX750 and the Nighthawk 750, which wasn't sold in the UK.
My ultimate bike but so undepowered for the money sadly.....
How much power does a bike need I thought it was a nice amount of power.
@@thatbikersimon Got a gsx 1400 with 130 bhp and yoshi ca,ms......my old gs 1000 had more power than the current Norton.......lovely bike tho
An expensive bike which appears to have a design mindset of cost cutting.
Lights,indicators,mirrors,five gears?
BMW 1250r better value and better concept.
But the BMW doesn’t have a Norton badge 👍
@@thatbikersimon never buy a bike because of a badge,it guarantees nothing.
@@iancraig6070 I know but to me it’s all about the fun factor and I think the Norton is fun. If I bought a moden classic retro triumph/bmw/ I would probably get bored of it after a while.
@@thatbikersimon absolutely correct Simon... the last minute of your video says it all !
That’s no legend or proper Norton Commando, it’s an overpriced fake ,built to appeal to farty latte posh boy set ,with more money than sense . Those wrong way up tacky gold forks & carbon fibre mudguard & cheap nasty brake reservoirs have no place on a classic styled bike . The engine at tick over sounds like construction site dumper truck . 17 grand they are taking the pi55 .
You’ve probably just described me, but far from posh lol. For me it’s got to be about the fun factor not about money I’ve wasted thousands of pounds on bikes over the year but never regretted it. I realy enjoyed the ride and feel but I can never compare it to the old classics but I have very little experience with the old Norton, but I will still probably end up buying one at some point.
@@thatbikersimon If I was you I would not allow my self to be ripped off for 17 grand , & get yourself a proper Norton . But a fool & his money is soon parted they say. 👍
And the jealous bots keep a coming..... Keep taking the bus son!
@@cams2575 That’s where you are wrong blurt , I have nowt to be jealous off , I could afford several of the crocks cash on the nail .
@@cams2575 Nowt to be jealous of sunshine .
Nice idea but not special enough and way overpriced.
Thanks for watching. 👍
Overpriced, underpowered and dubious build quality. I would never buy one.
The price does seem to be a big issue for people but I’ve come to the conclusion all bikes are expensive. I liked the Norton. I would love to have one in the garage if I had a spare 17K to spend
Why do all these bot fannies keep bleating they'd never buy one or want one but can't shut the fook up and post on all Norton review blogs? Mmmmm... 🤥🤭🤣
No not in my vue and I have been a Norton owner for 53 years but keep clear of this one
For what reason surely if your a Norton owner you would like to see the Norton brand continue.
