hey Iron! I played through this game earlier this after ur playthrough peaked my interest. The ending of the game is based off of how much "common sense" you push to the wayside to immerse yourself in this VN. If you choose the options that affirm lillias existence and love her then you get to keep the story going. Otherwise the game ends with u killing her and she dissapears from ur home screen until you get the good ending. Its a really dark ending, but the game itself is a critique on human's lack of ability to view things from perspectives that aren't our own. Like the date for example: if you choose to have a full length conversation with the stranger even though we the player cannot understand him, the game character learns that conversations are just a construct of society and 2 people can have a full length conversation without ever understanding eachother. (Like political arguments and debates between ppl who never acknowledge the other person's viewpoint as a valid way of seeing the world). I think this ending is a punishment on the player for repeatedly refusing to immerse themselves in a world. The last chapter about rules is a foreshadowing of having your greater will stripped from you (rules) in order to appease the common sense within social hierarchies. Due to your actions you have created a new common sense where lillia isn't allowed to exist within your own world so the game takes away any option that allows for her to co-exist with u due to u refusing to acknowledge her love of the player as a valid viewpoint.
Either way, I loved your narrations, and I wouldn't have given this game a shot if you didn't put it on my radar. Just know there is a different ending that you can shoot for (with abt another hour of story), it's just a bit tedious since this meta-narrative game doesn't have save points or branches to jump to.
Oh wow, I didn't expect there to be another hour of gameplay, if that's the case, I'll try to get the good ending. The good end being the one where you accept Lilith's love even though we both know she's not a real person is interesting

Hi Ironic, I discovered this hiddem gem (for me at least) of a VN through your channel. At first I was skeptical of it because I never played VN's before in my life, but your commentary about the videogame inspired me to buy the game and try it for myself. When I played it, I felt for the first time genuine feelings of loliness coming from a videogame, because it perfectly reflected how I was at that moment, I feared how other would look at me because I felt inferior to those around me, most of the times I misinterpret the original meesage to one that makes me feel threaten. Thank's to the game's existencial crisis, I finally took notice of those flaws and I am currently working to overcome them. I know it might be off-topic but, for me words cannot express how games likes these and content creators like you can make a significant impact for anyone in need, directly or indirectly. About the ending, it provides with a lot of shock value to the player and that was the case for me. Also the growing letter size , the repetition of "You don't exist" and the horrifiying scene really helped captivate that feeling that you are killing someone who loved you you (that is my take) Also when the MC has to face the reality of the world, it reminded me of a book I red (San Manuel Bueno Martir), it is a book about a priest in a town in Spain during the 20th century, who has an internal crisis about protecting his town about the truth of religion (because at that moment religion was practically everything for most inhabitants in Spain), because the priest himself does not believe in God. San Manuel (the priest), feared that if they found out what religion really is they will face how the world without their “common sense”. If we connect this to the ending, that common sense or faith would no longer exist and they might emotionally die. As the player would not have Lilith's love anymore , the inhabitants of the town would not have faith in religion anymore.
