as a chronic pain patient, this is exactly how it feels to go to the doctor and try and get a diagnosis.

this already hits me too hard, and i haven’t even watched a majority of the video yet edit: accurate as can be, last doctor i went to suggested that my occasional microsleeps, back pain, and continuous migraines was just a result of being on the computer for too long. There were moments where i would be in the middle of class, i doze off, and spontaneously forget where i was, how i got there, and the previous 30 minutes, and when i suggested that it might not be a “video game addiction” he responds with, dead serious “do you have a medical degree?” I have a new doctor now, but for fucks sake, you can’t have graduated university, and still be this incompetent.

GODDD. yeah. all the comments are right. it’s so relatable. i had to travel to completely different states just to get properly diagnosed with my GENETIC joint disorder. (hEDS). worst part, it only took a couple years but they kept doing blood test after blood test when you CANT TELL VIA BLOOD TEST. and i dislocated my knee just for a diagnosis to HAPPEN. that’s just one of many issues i have, not including mental.

3:58 Yeah, I’d imagine there’s a lot less than they’re trained to expect. While hypochondria is also a real issue that can affect patients as well, the stigma really does a lot of damage to people that need medical care. I wonder what the percentage of diagnosed vs not believed people are that are dealing with a chronic illness. :(

Sounds like gout (especially if the patient isn't eating much protein because eating rich meat/kidney/liver worsens gout symptoms) though usually that stays in the joints it can probably wander all throughout the body too since its an overabundance of uric acid crystals

Omg yes! I got my diagnosis after two years of being able to do nothing and barely get out of bed, and that’s because I had something else happen and was forced with a different doctor. But then I got a diagnosis and had to fight to not have everything blamed on THAT. Turns out there’s more than one issue, who knew? (I did and was saying it the whole time.)

this game is so damn relatable.... years now ive been trying to fight for a diagnosis for my chronic pain and my doctor tells me to wait it out or to try to exercise more (i work a VERY physical job. but that doesnt count i guess). heres hopeing things can get better

i genuinely believed the game was gonna end in death. either stress and pain wearing down your body so badly you die from physical causes, or being so unbearable you take your life. or being broke from being unable to go to work at all. worst part? its incredibly realistic too. when you dont find that one doctor that actually believes you, listens, does their job.

i dont have chronic pain and have been blessed with mostly good doctors, and seeing people think this game is accurate is mildly terrifying

Struggling with this. Massive back pain my whole life, can't stand too long without my back feeling like it's on fire. Every doctor just equates it to my weight.. sure, I'm fat but I'm active enough that my weight should not be making me feel like my spine is about to burst out of my back.

At the ending of the game i started crying thats all i want a lead to what causes my pain, tests that can tell me whats wrong, and something that can help no more days where the pain is so unbearable i wouldn't walk but i have to ive been told everything under the sun but its not joint problems, its not growing pains they dont listen and its not just the doctors it friends, family, anybody, nobody believes me but its just pain i feel like im rotting, i feel like my bones will fall apart, i feel like my muscles are paralyzed i feel like im being stabed with needles and hit with bats i just want to not feel this
