I want to have a bigger library of games for that little handheld. A few more titles popped up and I had no idea that Megaman Fighters was on this system. I didn't know that they made expansion edition of Card Fighters either. I am utterly addicted to the first two games. I think that this little system makes the best handheld Fighting games of all time. So smooth and impossibly responsive for a handheld. Seriously there's no comparison to any other handheld system out there.
Quality of fighting games is the psp but if you’re talking about playing then then yeah I rather play the fighting games with the ngpc control stick then the horrible d pad on the psp. Gba also had some quality fighting games as well but again d pad isn’t the greatest for fighting games
Thank you for watching! The NGPC was trying to be a heavily scaled down AES. And like the AES, it used fighting games as its bread and butter. Or at least it tried to. Regardless, it did an admirable job of translating the gameplay of those bigger carts onto a handheld.
At that time gameboy was still hard with pokemon and several arcade conversions similar like KOF95, Samurai Spirits III or Toshinden. In the second year of life of neogeo color it came gameboy advance, way more powerfull with a huge cataloge of exclusive good games.
Neo Geo Pocket color was actually really popular on it's first year, then Aruse, a company that bought SNK, said that games weren't the focus anymore, and no more games were made for the handheld, making it a flop in the next years.
Also fighting games were trend at this time, so these games were meant to boost the sales. Neo Geo Pocket Color had the boost for being a handheld that wasn't focused in family friend games. So this could atrract a more mature audience

The one game that is a must own and must play for the NGPC is Card Fighters Clash. It has aged better than any other game.
