I’m a 22 y/o journeyman millwright and I’m blessed by god to be in the position I’m in idk what I did to deserve. But only having a momma sometimes it was hard in my career learning lessons the hard way and looking like a kid in front of the mentors you’re trying to impress like, have the right tools, keep ur area clean to keep ur brain operating correctly, and also knowing where to buy shit

    Hank,
Lots of fun setting it up, I learned when I was (14) yrs old what a line wrench was.
Another name for it was line lock wrench. Snap on tools was at the time the elite model.
    Thanks again

Looks awesome Hank! I really wouldn't do much different. Having all the tools you need in one spot is a great system. I've always used the top drawers for wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers...common tools and the bottom drawers for everything else, tools that are big and not commonly used. Great install, great work! Thanks for sharing! 😎

When I had a service truck I put the most frequently used tools in the passenger side boxes. That way whenever you are on the side of the road working your doors open towards the shoulder instead of the road. Had the same C-tech boxes in red they worked great. I think they had a slogan about how you’ll love getting in their drawers lol. That is a good looking truck.

For your sockets check out the Ernst Manufacturing Socket Boss. I have those in my tool set and it is really nice not having to worry about sockets falling off the rail. I keep most of my hand sockets in those but my impact sockets are in a case. I have the Quinn 1/2 inch drive and the Quinn 3/8 inch drive impact socket sets and the main sockets I have for hand use are the Quinn master technician set. =)

Back in the day, i had an enclosed service body that came equipped with drawers and organizers in place. Inside of truck they had other drawers and organizers for other equipment. I kept all my cordless tools inside. Ladders and other items were kept inside. I lived that concept but over the years with work shifting to others directions. I sold the truck. It was gas and at the time i didnt care abour mileage but today i would. It got about 10 mpg. Anyhow i enjoy your videos. Best of luck to all of you.

first off let me say nice tool boxes. secondly sitting here watching you install the first one and you checked to see if the door would shut, and it did but I'm sitting here like a fool screaming at the screen for you to put the drawer in that is at the latch of the door before you fasten the box down tight. But it never came. You synched it down tight and filled it up. Me still screaming at the screen. Then you tried to close the door and it didn't close, Yup then it hit ya. The look on your face. Yep Priceless. Live and learn my Friend, live and learn.

G'day mate I will say that I would have the impact batteries closer together and associated sockets On the same side of the truck. Otherwise you will be going back and forth between the two for a 10mm socket and extension for same. You are going to change it All around untill it works for you. Then you will have someone put something in the wrong place and you will tear your hair out in frustration.
Always keep an open mind and enjoy life

Nice Boxes The drawers are a Great Up grade. I did this years ago useing a Craftsman bottom boxes on a Service truck. One hit save you some time in the future. your bolts on the bottom going to the outside, Reverse them. In other words, put the bolt in from the bottom to the inside and install the nuts on the inside It will help with keeping the threads in good shape and Helps to keep your shoulders, back, etc from getting scraped up if you have to go under your truck for some reason. I have scars from my stupidity on those things. Just a thought. Nice install video. helps those of us that aren't as smart as you. Well done.

Since you had to push them to the back of the main box, I would put a couple ¼'' bolts at the top to keep them from rocking back and forth (side to side) and possibly breaking the drawer frame over time. Put them in a place where they want interfere with the drawer closing. They look great!

Looks nice….I too would go standard one side and metric the other. If your working on something metric the odds are it’s all metric and vice versa. Just park it standard or metric closest to where ya working…..split the universal stuff on both sides (pliers, vice, crescent etc.). I find it handy to have an empty canvass carry bag to load up what ya need and pack that to what your working on.

I work on tons of equipment, vehicles and structures that use both. Keeping it all together means your extensions, ratchets and impact drivers are all right there too. Mechanical tools on passenger side with the compressor outlet. Forestry, earthwork and rigging on the driver side with the crane.

Don’t get too wrapped around the axle about getting stuff where it needs to be. After you have had it a while you will figure out what works for you.
I would recommend the largest fasteners you can use to hole it all together as well as using fender washers to help spread the stress over a larger area.

If you keep going so hard you're gonna end up moving from Dewalt cordless to Milwaukee! You'll find they have a LOT more industrial commercial type rated m18 tools you'll find you can't live without! I was on Ridgid 18v cordless for years, their stuff is between the Ryobi (homeowner) and Milwaukee (industrial) I did a lot of home repair stuff and they had almost ALL the cordless tools I needed. Turns out I could have really just bought a good generator at Harbor Freight and bought corded tools and saved a TON of money, but cordless rules out in the field in my opinion, however doing more mechanic work and metal stuff, I just got my first Milwaukee (it's an m12 impact just a little starter but still) I'm probably going to end up with a side of my garage now full of red AND orange! haha
edit: I'll bet you can get ANY color they OFFER!!
