Tools that live in service trucks would cause the TH-cam tool collectors to have a nervous breakdown. My father in law has been a heavy equipment mechanic since he joined the Army during Vietnam. His tools like wrenches are pretty much worn smooth from all the vibration riding in a truck.

my wife made "drawer blankets" out of moving blankets for my tool boxes that are in unheated storage. lays on top of the tools and keeps them from rusting. occasionally spray the tool side of the blanket with wd-40. works well. love those snap on rechargeable magnetic lights. you got the service body full for sure!

I have a f450 service truck. I wish I had the space you do lol. I purchased a husky box to go inside the cabinet and it’s doing surprisingly well so far. I didn’t want to shell out $1700 for a service truck box.

Nice truck. You got more tools in it than anyone I've seen so far. I have owned my own service truck for almost 30 years. I'm setting up my fifth one right now. It seems like it takes forever!

I'm a field tech too for an allison/detroit shop and man it's rough on tools for sure. I've learned to not keep them as clean as I used to when I was in the shop and it seems to help with the rust lol. Also, being in smaller boxes in the trucks everything seems to be just organized chaos and I wish we had class B trucks like you. Cool video and I got some ideas from you. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Phil nice set up, as you go threw the tools I was having flashbacks lol of stuff I’ve done in the past, I’m a 35yr veteran in a field service truck, I’ve moved in the shop now with my health, I still run circles around these guys in the shop with me.. only thing I miss is my freedom, but they pretty much leave me alone 🤠.. look forward to more videos and Saturday nights.. be careful out there

We own 2 farms, I worked out of a nissan with boxes on it for years. My wife bought me a very nice used f350 with a service bed on it. An old AT&T truck. I thought I would never use all the room....until I owned it a month.

If your regulators are covered you can leave them on. I have a set of regulator tank caps on Betty so I don't have to remove them. They work alright. Seem a little cheesy for what they cost. Very nice job Phil

Great job dude, I bet your white snap on box is awfully empty right now. Seriously though, your truck is set up awesome! You called that one compartment boring but it has to be nice to have all of your consumables in one spot ready to use. Thanks for the TTS shout out too!!!

Nice set up brother, I would look into all top bottles for your torches. The regulators are built in, and if you put quick connects on them it’s quick and easy to break down for transport/running down the road.
Looking forward to more videos, and good job with the camera Chase 👍

Awesome, field tech here also. You’ll always continue to build on your tooling, and special tooling. If I go independent, I probably would have some type of small trailer, to carry hose crimping machine, or skiving machine for hose making capabilities.

    • @williamdonohue7470
      @williamdonohue7470 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Vince, I have a hose crimper on board. Thought I'd make more hoses than I do. It's great to be johnny on the spot with a hose when you're way out there, but honestly, I just have alot of hose and fittings riding around with me. Still rather have it than not though.

I already see one thing i like about your crane over the IMT i run... Your back Curb Side Box is fully usable where mine half the box is the 1/2" Air Reel, my Crane Controls, (Not Wireless..) and the drip pan at the top under the crane which leaves me with little room to put much of anything other than some of my Rigging stuff not even all of it. Damn nice Truck man i like it. One day ill move up to the big boy trucks but, for now my 95 Ford Super Duty with an IMT Body and Crane on it will do.
Oh and nice nod to ol Peg over at Zip Ties and Bias Plies. Minty \m/

I ve been thru several trucks.big and small . Moved Down to:3500 Chevy with 11ft bed with separate boxes for better storage capacity. Had utility type beds prior but they leaked so bad I tried these boxes this time plus downsized . I’ll I don’t know if downsizing and just bringing special tools when needed works. It I’ll find out. Before I had peterbuilt with 12 ft harbor bed and4 ft work area back of bed. Crane mounted onto top of right rear portion of box. But had problems using full capacity’s of crane as box , with reinforced area would not hold capacity (10,00 lbs) . Gee med boxes so doors didn’t close correctly. So this time I built a separate support from frame up for crane with outriggers that extend beyond truck width. Seams to really hold weight well. Just remember to retract and raise outriggers. Apprentice doesn’t seam to remember!
Do you have problem with crane capacity and or frame flexing? What make bed do you have?
Your rig looks complete. I hope you stay safe and busy ABD don’t have problems with customers paying.
    Take care
