- Spring is here, and that means open hunting season for classic iron. Beets the service truck and I will be on the road pretty much straight the next few months, hunting the "good junk". So, it's only fitting the truck get's some additional tools added to it to aid the recovery process. A guy installs a air compressor, generator, and a port-a-torch. Of course, the cheap and easy way. Used metal. Spray paint.

Great channel. You can turn the rewind on the generator 90 degrees & start in from the ground.
Might want to strap the wheels down on the generator ! When you pulled it over the wheels hopped up a bit ! Lol. Now you need a vice on the bumper and a battree charger and a years supply of go-go juice and of course your Harbor Freight Junior Mechanic tool set ( the pink ones ) and jacks and wood !

I think for more usage, a guy should turn that unit around, so could start it and get to outlets.

Beets is coming right along. Just a word of caution thought: it is inadvisable to carry the torch tanks in the cab of the truck. One leak and things tend to get all explody.
Atleast the generator aint as loud as a locomotive

FYI for those trying to run real tools off a little baby compressor like this. They are very restricted with the included regulators most of the time. Air tools need air volume. The regulator limits it by design...and cheaper price with less material.
So you need your airline straight off the tank as close as possible and as large diameter output as can be. If you remove the fittings/plugs of the pressure switch you'll find the 4 way distribution in the bottom tend to have small holes. Use like a 5/16" to drill em out a bit larger. Run compressor while drilling if possible to keep it blowing out. Or just clean it out really well. Then add a coupler straight off an unused port bypassing the regulator completely. If there's no ports in a usable location one can use a 1/4" Tee to move the pop off valve and add a port. The Tee can come in different variations so find what works best for your setup.
Use a Milton Type V hi flow coupler and 3/8" hose and you'll see some noticeable increase in your Impact or air tool capabilities.

Derek if the compressor hasnt broken already it will, you need rubber contacts or harmonics will take that compressor apart eventually.

Great video, however those cheap wheels will split from the pounding they will get when driving ( I know from experience ), recommend removing wheels and making a holder for them along with a quick connect system to reinstall them if you find a need to move generator closer to your work.
