I am a uk citizen and it is with a sigh of relief that I listen to you today! I have been avidly following the events surrounding the supreme court's rulings for a long time now. I spent the last two days screaming at my computer screen - "but it's Biden who is King for the next four months not Trump! Why is nobody talking about that?" It will be hard for him to drop the 'nice guy' image and get his hands dirty by ignoring all the norms precedents and ethics - and become the Kingly and ruthless champion of democracy which has always been his core goal and therefore his ‘official’ business! Break the norms, ignore political precedent and opinion, cap the upper age of the Supreme Court with immediate effect, pack the court while indicting Thomas and Alito for corruption - make sure that every facet of this coup is attacked including the filibuster, without fear of retribution. Forget rallies, debates Etc unless it’s about democracy which polls have shown really matters to voters! Norms, standards, ethics, precedents and ultimately the constitution itself no longer holds sway! The court made sure if that. All the above will stick in Biden’s throat - but if he manages to save democracy by becoming a dictator for a couple of months, it will secure his legacy in American history. If he loses he will be written out of history by an incoming and permanent autocratic government - and the world will change!

Only Congress can make laws. There is also a process for amendments to the Constitution. The Supreme Court is saying the president is immune from criminal prosecution for Official Acts as president. Things related to the presidency. So he can't be prosecuted for ordering the border agents to shoot immigrants and then pardoning those agents, for example. Defending the country, he could say. But the Court likely would not approve the president overstepping his role in other ways, like circumventing Congress or overturning a Supreme Court ruling on his own. They want to keep some power for themselves, after all.

But that's the thing. The supreme court now has NO power over him. All the president has to do is confer with his administration and couch ANY decision as an "official act" and he's immune. That's why it's such a dangerous ruling. If *Rump gets in, he's definitely going to run roughshod over his political foes without concern for any laws.

The Court cannot be enlarged without 60 Senators. The GOP gets away with it because they always waive the filibuster. Thankfully Sinema and Manchin are GONE and if we can retain majority in the Senate, they will enlarge the Court. But until then, it's not possible.

He could do it all by Executive Action on his own.
