Do these rules apply for American drivers as well or are these solely rules for NZ natives?
If you're an American driving in New Zealand, these rules apply.
I'm confused. I though it was left giveaway to right??
If the vehicle on the right is waiting on the bottom of the t-intersection, or waiting to come out of a driveway, and you are driving straight along a road, they have to give way to you.

Their is were you manufacture a error in your examples of a roundabout you never remind the viewer that the car must indicate to leave the roundabout

As far as I know, in this situation, the car that is "closer" to the turning point goes first.
The car that is further away should give way.

If you're driving the blue car, you don't give way to the red car. You only have to give way to drivers coming from your right. Therefore, the red car gives way to you.
