    Double standard 😑 if they switch the position, by the husband did all of those things to his wife i bet they will got angry, and said him as abuser.. The stereotype, "its okay to do rough touch towards male" should be disappear too.. Whether its female or male, they shouldn't treated like that

    If it was the husband who did those, (the news) it won't be on Hello Counselor but police station. How unfair is that.

    • @kamifae
      @kamifae ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. Domestic violence is not really dealt with in SK (like pretty much everywhere else) and violence against women is not only rampant but brushed off much of the time.

    I honestly believe that it's inexcusable to hit your partner no matter what, and it should never be out of love. I get it if it's joke, but it shouldn't be to the point your causing your partner more harm than good.

    This kind of treatment is demeaning, humiliating and just plain cruel. She needs to realise that hitting someone until they have bruises and bending their joints until it is deformed is not a joking or laughing matter. Honestly, I would file a restraining order if I was in his situation.

      Kpop Slayer but this is not a professional show or whatever, this is for entertainment and to give some good advice on the side. People who write to them know what they’re in for. If it’s so serious they should walk themselves to court. Which in this case they should’ve. I’m just saying this cause people in the comments always get mad at the hosts just cause they don’t know the purpose of the show.

    yeah no that's not funny. I have only watched the beginning of this clip but it's already problematic. If the genders were switched no one would be laughing about a guy punching his wife in the stomach and twisting her arm because he's angry she won't sleep with him.

      Cannot dare to watch this any longer.... Double standard is very disgusting as hell!!! Whatever what is the gender of the offender and his/her relationship to the abused, it should not be tolerable at all especially then there is no good reason of hitting another person....

      thats absolutely true, but you know what? people would naturally be more concerned if the tables were turned because grown men are typically naturally stronger than grown women, its an irrefutable fact. But as i was watching this i kept saying to myself "In America, that's domestic violence, and she would be in jail" im not saying that people like that wont be jailed in Korea, not at all, but im just saying why reactions are naturally somewhat lighthearted. But i know i definitely would be taking action if he were by brother getting bruised, i mean this dude even had to go to the hospital

    I can't believe this concern didn't get over 100 votes. It got 48 votes! I love hello counselor a lot. So many of their episodes are about the men being controlling and mentally abusive(& physically but behind closed doors). This time the roles were switched. This is Abuse, I love how she tried to talk about their past, meaning she still holds grudges against him. I understand she wants his attention at home instead of talking about work but to physically abuse him for attention makes me wonder that this isn't good at all. She laughs when she hurts him so this has become a game for her at this point. She likes hurting him. This is wrong on all levels. Hopefully they work out this relationship because you can see he's a well mannered man and he seems to care enough to fix his relationship with his Wife.

  • @springraynee
    @springraynee 6 ปีที่แล้ว +63

    Just because he doesn't tell her doesn't mean she was justified in doing it. Hitting and beating one up is still wrong regardless of whether the offender acknowledges it or not. It is sad and rather infuriating to see her laugh when she describes what she does to him - it is not something you should be proud of at all. Had that been the man who hit his wife then it would be called abuse. What you are doing is abusing your husband. Please change. To the hosts and guests, just because she is a woman doesn't mean he cannot be hurt by it. That is absurd and saddening to think that people refuse to see the double standards here. I am disgusted.

      cream puff i also dont think this is a concern as in this programme’s perspective. What they normally consider a concern is when they couldnt see how to easily resolve the issue.
      Like this case, it seems the couple havent talked to each other a lot. Hopefully, most of their issues can be solved after they really open up to each other.

    If a man can't beat a woman, why is everyone on this show okay with a man being beaten by a woman? They shout and yell when the woman is mistreated and theres no equality in the marriage, but when its a man being mistreated in the marriage they don't care. This is abuse; Korea needs to wake up if they think this okay -_-

    it's kind of annoying when they vote that it's not a concern or problem anymore just because they talked about it for a while on a tv program. they wont change much overnight and will easily stick to their ways with just a tiny bit of conscious effort which they will forget about often. their behaviors have been molded and glued to who they r as a person, these problems in a relationship will require constant work and effort from both the wife and husband. i would still consider it a concern, but be more optimistic that they can be happier

    This is alarming, not only that it wasn't voted as a concern for the guy who is probably going to continue to get abused, but also for ALL the people who are watching this episode on the internet in in Korea in general since it's on national TV. They just shut off a possibility for guys being abused to speak up and stop it. I can't believe this.

    No matter how strong a guy is, they still get hurt. Just because men are stronger than women, doesn't mean they are weak. The man is complaining and they don't take it seriously. And the votes are low so it's not a big concern? C'mon, this thing is serious 😑😑 This is really frustrating. When the girl said that seeing his husband's negative reaction is cute, she enjoys it and is taking him for granted.

  • @falsegirl5404

    Btw this is a REAL concern, if that was a man who was beating his wife no one would laugh, but since they see womens like little fragile things they think it's nothing.

    If it were the other way around, the police would have been called on him. 🙄🙄 she needs to think. Of course it’s gonna hurt if u twist his fucking finger. He’s not a robot. She 30 but she doesn’t think nor act like it. This is just frustrating. And because her husband is not screaming at her to stop, she just continues doing it. Like wtf?
    The one thing I hate is if they made the rules together and agreed on it, why would she just forget about that? Because he’s gonna do it anyway? Srsly? And people wonder why their partner wants a divorce sometimes. Of course divorce is the last thing to think about but she need to fix herself.
    Just because the husband is nice doesn’t mean she should take advantage of him.
    And the husband, (sigh). Some people do swear unavoidably when they’re angry but he should try and not use those words when talking to his wife🙃

  • @glaxxxyjimin2616
    @glaxxxyjimin2616 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I can already tell that they don’t really think it’s much of a concern. I can’t even believe that guest asked if women could even hit that hard and none of them said a word. I hate the double standard that men can’t be abused by their spouse just because they’re men or that men can’t be raped because they’re men and they should fight back. Like others have said in the comments this double standard has to go. This is abuse. So many other things on this show have been abuse. He should divorce her, but then they’ll tell him that divorce is the extreme option. There have been so many women on this show who’ve come because of their patriarchal husbands and all they’ve told her was that divorce is extreme. Why? Is it because she has a child with him? So she’s supposed to deal with her misogynistic husband who thinks she lazes around all day when she’s actually taking care of house and the children? If I ever marry a Korean man, I’m not raising our children in South Korea. They still have a probably talking about a persons sexuality if they’re not straight!

  • @fxredlyte
    @fxredlyte 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    It's a concern, but one that seems like it can be resolved. He seems like a bit of a pushover who doesn't tell her when she is playing too rough. And, it doesn't seem like a good idea for them to continue to work together because the abuse may come from her wanting to be the boss at home after having him tell her what to do at work the entire day. That being said, I don't think any of them are bad or mean people. And unlike the inconsiderate husband before them who was obsessed with Buzz and wouldn't help his wife out around the house, they seem to love each other.

    That is why Domestic Violence doesn’t only happen to women. It seems like the wife has aggression and anger/stress management problems with a bit of a strange fetish. Hitting someone because you like them or their reactions to the point of hurting them so badly is not O.K. That’s violence, most commonly known as D.V. that right there is abuse and doesn’t only happen to women but men also. There needs to be raised an awareness about this. I wonder why the guests didn’t think aggression as a concern but singing more or so was...

    I’m personally a huge fan of Hello Counselor and I have always respected them and the audience. I have always liked how they handled the problems . But for this problem , I am very disappointed with how they dealt with the problem . And I don’t even get why did this concern got only 48 votes . I have never felt so frustrated towards hello counselor , the guests or the audience . I can’t believe they were saying “ how much can it even hurt ? “ like seriously ? She learnt hapkido . Did you guys heard her laugh when she twisted his arms ? That’s like one fucking creepy shit right there . Just because he’s a guy , it doesn’t mean that he can’t feel the pain . If it were the guy abusing the girl then , the things would have stirred up so badly . I can clearly see gender equality right here . At the end , it was really annoying how they were saying that the guy should approach the girl maturely. If I were there , I would burst out on the girl instead , not caring what the people would think . The guy came on the show expecting that he would get some help and support , but I’m sure he’s disappointed . Hello counselor , I hope that the upcoming serious concerns won’t be taken lightly no matter the victim is a GUY or a GIRL , PLEASE ! It is sick how the guy didn’t got any support that he needed . In my opinion , I think the guy came on the show not only to resolve the problem but also to protect their relationship . I hope that the girl gets her mind stable and understands her partner .

She seems to be taking out all the stress from working under him at home smh and because he's a guy (and real nice at that) he takes it and doesn't dish it back out. I hope she fixes up her act before a bruise turns into something broken.

    i love Hello Counselor i watch it every chance i get and i am also really upset that the show is now over..... now to the point i don't like how they were taking this matter too lightly DOUBLE STANDARDS the husband is a nice guy,well mannered and seems very kind and caring too i also understands that the wife wants attention at home instead of talking about work but abusing him is so wrong very wrong i hoped it worked out well🙃

    I might not watch this concern like the double standard I can already feel it coming and I’m not ready to deal with that frustration of them thinking it’s funny because it’s a guy receiving it

  • @cecile1535
    @cecile1535 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    it may sound funny since she's a woman but it's a serious concern since she's actually physically and emotionally hurting him! I wish they wouldn't take this concern likely just because she's a woman... it's wrong to express your love by hurting your partner. She actually reminded me of grade schoolers who like to bully the girls they like...
    I think that they shouldn't work together since it seems that she gets stressed over treating him as her boss at work.

    For those who don't understand why this didn't get much votes, it's because the previous concern was way too extreme, this in comparison can even seem a joke. If this concern had been the first I'm sure it would have got way more votes...

    I think this is a thing called “cute aggression”
    Many people see cute stuff and they’re like “ugh so cute I want to crush/squeeze it”
    Even I see cute chubby kids I want to pinch their faces, or sometimes I pinch my pug’s squishy face
    Of course I do that very gentle without hurting them but some people have issues and can’t contain themselves
    there are many killers killing animals or people just because they’re cute and pretty, not because they hate them

    I understand the the MCs should mediate between the two parties.. but clearly this is domestic abuse.. will this be okay if and not a concern if they switched? This show should have their resident psychologist/psychiatrist. They cannot tackle such issues in national television and mislead people believing that this is not a concern!!!!

  • @Lifunia
    @Lifunia 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Okay this is domestic violence/abuse and it shouldn't be joked about. I can see this ending very tragically and her only escalating the violence. She needs to get help and he deserves someone who can treat him good and love him for who he is.
    She seems like a girl who enjoys having the power over someone and controlling the other half.

    THE MAN HAS LITERAL BRUISES LIKE HE IS BEING ABUSED AND NO ONE STOPS TO SAY WOW WE NEED TO CALL THE POLICE OR REPORT THIS LIKE IF A WOMAN CAME WITH THAT CONCERN THEN IT WOULD BE PROBABLY BROUGHT UP AS SPOUSAL ABUSE BUT SINCE ITS A MAN HE CANT BE ABUSED. THAT DOUBLE STANDARD IS SHITTY AF LIKE HE SHOUDLNT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT JUST TO BE RIDICULED AND DISMISSED.

    Why do they think she cant inflict that much pain just because shes a woman? She has a black belt in martial arts. One that involves kicking and grabbing and throwing ur opponent to the ground. She's strong and it seems like inflicting pain just makes her laugh

    I think theres just miscommunication. Its not a concern since at work she knows her place and act accordingly. She's just really playful and happens to be rough . My mum kinda like that too with my dad and theyve been married for almost 30 years now.

    this is not acceptable. i understand teasing and light physical jokes but what she does is straight up hurtful and he even got injured! i feel like bc at work he’s the chef and she has to listen to him all day, she takes it out on him at home. or she could just he a sadist that enjoys this type of stuff. which is weird af

    i'm usually quite quick on the double standard alert, but i really think this is mostly a matter of misscomunication and limits not being defined. Domestic abuse is also psycologic abuse, the abuser diminish the other one and crush his self confidence to isolate him. physical violence is usualy a complement to psycologic abuse. so I don't feel, from the show, that it is up to that point.

    Dealing with such sensitive issues should not only be handled by MCs and guests.. Shows that tackle national concerns should be brought up to the public responsibly.. they should have a psychologist or a psychiatrist to give a better understanding on how to resolve issues... not this kind of way.. this is totally wrong.. viewers are misinformed about such issues when clearly it is already a very serious matter..
