    We get an update on the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, where more than 12,000 people have been killed and over 6 million displaced since April, when the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group broke out into fighting. Earlier this month, human rights groups say members of the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group carried out a massacre of around 1,300 Masalit people over three days in Sudan's West Darfur region and have subjected them to unlawful detentions, sexual violence, ill-treatment and looting. "The overall picture that survivors drew to us is horrific," says Human Rights Watch researcher Mohamed Osman, who details how the United Arab Emirates and Egypt are suspected of backing the fighting between the groups. "What we know is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the violations that people are facing day to day," says Sudanese activist Marine Alneel, who lays out how today's fighting continues the country's history of power struggles.

      @@InspiredByEbonyLove Sadly, human beings are not to be relied on to behave humanely. You have to observe human behaviour holistically, otherwise you are in denial. Human beings are capable of the most appalling savagery. It may help you personally to try denying it, but I'm afraid that doesn't help lift humanity away from the facts of the genes of all of us being near chimps because of our shared ancestry. That half-a-chromosome's distance is very easily breached and your own words betray that very fact. A loftiness born of divisionist anger is as much a belief of superiority as their own. Each side treats the other as inhuman, otherwise they would not descend into such feral conflict with each other and they are convinced of the other's inhumanity solely by the words of Bronze Age scribes. it takes the dual evils of nationalism and religion, the culturally evolved outer clothings of simian ignorance for their descendants to commit appalling atrocities. The people committing them are just as human as you or I.

    • @NaderNabilart
      @NaderNabilart 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's never about beliefs, always about power and money.
      In this particular case of Sudan, the RSF & SAF are two military juntas fighting for ruling the country, civilians since 2019 were and still calling for a democratic civilian government, and they have a huge workers union that includes almost all workers from all professions pushing for that democratic civilian future.

    • @josefschiltz2192
      @josefschiltz2192 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NaderNabilart They are all intertwined. The tendrils of each, grasp into the other and hold. They are all mind parasitical and culturally evolved from the power plays of our ancestors. The perpetuation of these conflicts only shows up the failure to grasp that people with out-of-date beliefs are continually duped. You are dealing within effects and not into cause. The cause is far further into the past and it is a past that the religious continually deny. Their schema works with adherence primarily to gods and secondly to their own self-deification exactly as priests do, through human dominance and money which is a token they use to display that dominance.

      You're right that this is going underreported, but I can understand why Gaza is getting so much attention in Europe and North America as well as the Arab world. The US has a direct hand in what is happening in Gaza, both in terms of military aid and political support. The same is true of European nations, to varying degrees. People on both sides are endeavouring to use their political agency to affect the outcome. The US alone has enough leverage to force a ceasefire overnight, if the political will existed at the highest levels to do so.
      It also doesn't hurt that the region is incredibly important to three major world religions.
      That said, I agree that the Sudanese conflict should be getting much more coverage.

    We will not improve the management of diversity in Sudan. The Sudanese political elites have failed to find effective solutions. Political conflicts between armed movements, political parties and civil forces are all criminals and the supporters of this war are all implementing the agenda of foreign countries in Sudan. To destroy Sudan, this rebel militia is now supported by political parties, and there are countries that provide it with financial and technical support and open its airports in order to supply it with weapons in order to fight the national army. The national army also depends on groups from the former regime. This is the reality of the conflict in Sudan.

    Amazingly, the proxies in this conflict are the UAE, Egypt, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Russia but these characters mention the US in 1969. The reason why the US stays relatively clear of many of these nations is because they will be associated with any petty dictator, military coup, or authoritarian who shows his face. You associate communism with democracy. Name one place this concept has worked. Until Africans decide to handle their problems without killing and choose to disregard proxes. Until they put their trust in their people and respect their individual rights, until they remove the economic shackles of socialism -communism- fascist governments. Until their leaders respect the rule of law. NOTHING WILL CHANGE. Americans know this. They will not invest in chaos. Would you? When will African leaders tire of receiving aid and compete for investment? I don't know. Let us know when you are ready.

    Ironic that the Palestinians are fighting for self determination and Sudan who has it, their leaders have sold out to external interests at the extent of their nationals. Palestinians fight...everyone. Why are Afrikans so docile? Why don't fight for their rights. As a black persons I'm afraid that this will play into the trope that black people can't rule themselves. I don't believe it, but it will play into that.
