    I lived there as a kid, went to half moon bay school and ate a tonne of venison, crayfish and blue cod, fantastic memories

    Wow , paradise !! All the firewood right there beside the house , animals and fish and shellfish right there also , could live the rest of my life there quite happily .

    Stunning. Incredible scenery and such an amazing location for a house and so much delicious wild food. I think if I'm reincarnated I'd like to come back and be a hermit there. Regards to you and the family from Angus in Scotland.

    Went to Stewart Island in the late 1960's - absolutely magical then, but I was too young and immature to appreciate it fully. Still had a great time hunting. I understand now that the White Tail are in very poor condition - too many of them for too little feed.

    Had a week down there a year ago. What a great out of the way place it is too. Found it was very reasonable cost wise for food and bev.

    Obviously filmed on a rare day of ‘clement’ weather! But beautiful all the same! 😎

    Beautiful. Thanks for sharing that. At 3:27 there's some crazy bad chromatic aberration in the footage - which lens and which camera took that piece? Most of the footage is great and there's not much you can do about chromatic aberration without fancy post processing software, but I'm curious to know. Cheers.

    Love the location of the camp! Other than the bush the Headlands and Beech did look a lot like Australia. Curious to know what you did with the cockles (pippies) bait or eat? If yous ate them could u show us how u's cooked them?. The Kiwis wer cute!
    Cheers guys!.

      According to the interwebs cockles are a very different shape and look to those.

      They are not cockles or pipi's they are Tua tua's. You just boil/steam them until they pop open. Same as mussles.

    • @JohnWilson-cs7iq
      @JohnWilson-cs7iq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yer....It goes back to the sealing & Whaling days. Mostly Whaling. That is the European history. The Maori History goes back to the 13th century. The Maori visited seasonally for food gathering of the sooty shearwater chicks.
