I squealed and grinned when you greeted your first fish! I know I'll be doing the same in a few months. LOL! "Christened" by sucking out the water. It's fine since this is a new tank that's never quarantined anything yet. But never again! I gotta get one of those valved drip acclimator tubes! I used to just tie up the tube and loosen/tighten to desired drip speed.

Hey thanks, I acclimated a pair of clownfish a few weeks ago following your video, everything's great and I'm looking forward to adding a few more fish in the upcoming months. Very simple and necessary to follow guide.

I like to put a little methylene blue in the water when I acclimate them, it reduces stress.

What about the ammonia in the water the fish where shipped? I’ve heard once it’s exposed to air it becomes harmful to the fish.

If you are adding your drip acclimated fish straight to your Display Tank, you should never put the water in. Ideally, net the fish out or pour the water through a net and then put them in the tank. Why?? My LFS runs Copper in their fish systems, which you do not want to add to your tank.
Also, if you have to suck on the end of the tube, (there are better ways) then get as low down as possible and you only need to get the water up and over the tank. Gravity will then take over so you don't get a mouth full.

Why mix the water from the different bags together in the same bucket? Salinity between them could be different and that would be an immediate shock to the fish. I would have separate drip lines to each bag/bucket.

I am curious to see why four clowns. Typically you should only do two clowns unless you’re doing a clown harem tank, right?

Terrible advice to start a siphon with your mouth. 🙁Good way to cause permanent damage to your lungs when you do it on a used quarantine tank or your main display. Put both ends under water, cover one end with finger, put that end in lower bucket, and siphon will start.

what causes the damage to your lungs? the copper?

@@nick-hq8pc Bacteria, but who knows in a quarantine tank what you could breathe in after the first round of fish.
