My favorite Star Wars character for sure. I really wish he had survived his duel with kenobi but at least he played a massive role in the Star Wars timeline. Absolutely amazing design of a character and his backstory is crazy.
That would have been stupid. Obi Wan fails to kill Maul in 1, then fails to kill Dooku in 2, then fails to kill both Anakin and Grievous in 3. At least he got 1 noteworthy kill, unless I'm forgetting anyone.
@@JustapErson I wouldnt say he was trying to kill Anakin. He didnt want to kill him. He left him on the lava river shore because he didnt want to be the one who killed Anakin
General Grievous was rebuilt after the clone wars and used a super droid. He wasn’t a cyborg anymore, rather his cybernetic body design was used mostly. Then the newly built general grievous wielded a legendary lightsaber I forgot who wielded it prior.
@@JustapErson honestly yeah, Obi Wan should have more kills, but Maul is important for the Lucas sequel trilogy, Dooku for EP 3 opening, and Anakin for the Darth Vader arc.
Wow, this is so tragic. His families were slaughtered or left for dead, his soceity was subjugated multiple time, and the Republic just made things worse. No wonder he despised them with a seething anger.
This made me realise the C.I.S is probably alot less evil than the republic, you can see separatist politicians that just want peace too, both the republic and C.i.S are corrupt but both good at the same time
Well, by the time we meet him he’s a cruel and ruthless commander who enjoys killing and maiming. His backstory doesn’t change that, it just makes you realize what lead him down that path.
I would say it is *Maul* and Grievous that were really running ahead in race of tragedy. Both were expendable pawns in the plan of palpatine and quickly cast aside to their doom at the earliest convenience. Grievous died a pawn after loosing everything shown in the video here. Mauls future was stolen from him and suffered torment his entire life due to the actions of palpatine, later dying in the hands of his false nemesis as a broken piece cast aside and forgotten. At least Anakin partially redeemed himself in the end, these two never had the chance. Edit: Auto correct does not like the Sith emperor
Your community posts lead me to your channel. I had actually voted for this video and I am elated you ended up doing it. General Grievous is my favourite Star Wars character and this is a beautifully done video with Amazing production quality.
Great video. Watching these videos, you talk about various light and dark side techniques. There are definitely some familiar ones, but others, such as maelstrom and sith hearthstone, I am not familiar with. Could you do deep dives on force techniques used by both the Jedi and the sith?
What we need is a live action series adaption of Grievous' life before he became the General of the Droid army, (maybe even get some backstory moments for Dooku too) and then it would of course eventually lead up to him "choosing to make the changes to himself" as he says to his medical droid in the first season of TCW. Because it was already established in the canon, in the Lair Of Grievous episode from S1 of TCW, prior to Disney's acquisition of the franchise, that Grievous "chose to be transformed into a cyborg" and not thru losing his body in a shuttle crash.
The thing is for Darth Vader at least there is hope and at least in death he finally does the right thing and dies happy. However Grievous's life is pretty much a never ending downward spiral that leads to his horrific and ultimately pointless death and in the big picture this proud warrior is nothing more than just a chest piece in Palpatine's plan that does everything that he needed it to do and that is that. After no longer being needed he is simply thrown out and forgotten.
Hey man, love the videos. Wondering if you could answer a question for me. How come force ghosts don't help fight, for example, help Luke fight the Emperor, or if they can't fight at least guide luke more. Like how come obi wan didn't guide Luke on Bespin, since force ghosts can travel anywhere? Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.
Heres my idea for a General Grievous Series: Season one should be about his life on kalee Season two should be about the female kaleesh and Grievous Season three should be when dooku plants the bombs and creates general grievous Season 4 should be the aftermath of ROTS and make up a story on how he survived being exploded and then recovers Season 5 should be about going back to Kalee as General grievous but the mind of his former self and then going on to finish the war and kill the Yamri once and for all and then be seen as the warrior he was before. Youd see a happy ending, you’d see grievous happy, caring nad loving. Hes come back to some or all of his children and wives and then thats the end of his story
If you think about it grievous' story is very similar to the necrons in warhammer 40k his people were dying he asked people with more power for help they said no then fueled by hatrid and revenge he joins a side also fighting that race they then manipulate him into being a soulless cyborg
And in canon: He wants to become a jedi, but they not allowed it,because he is not force sensitive, so he wants to improve himself by using more and more cybernetics. The end.
Would love to see a general grievous movie. To show his backstory and make many shocked with showing it, but then to also see how big of a threat he was to the jedi. Not having the recent clone wars of grievous. But the famous jedi killer from the comics and the first old clone wars. Who is like third/second to darth vader.
I love Grevious for many many reasons but one of them is he reminds me of Revenant from Apex Legends they have a sorta similar story with becoming a cyborg in all
