When you pulled out that leather trench coat... What can I say....that color! That lining! The buttons, design details... And the fit on you, STUNNING!
Had not seen this video as I was very ill, and when you showed the de Ribes skirt my heart almost flipped! She is iconic and such a beauty- I am just 10 yr. younger than she is and she has been a favourite of mine since I was young. I love the skirt and I would wear that anywhere! I also have a very long pleated gold lame skirt, probably not as nice as your gold find, that I thrifted. I wear it in winter w. a men's white merino high neck jumper and over that a really bulky grey cable button-front that has huge long sleeves.Flats, always.
Jhw Webster, yes! So interesting! I think Karen wanted us to find out how interesting she is. Before I read anything about the designer, I knew there was nothing thrift about that skirt! The quality shows through my screen! 😍
You are my Saturday morning adult pleasure! I make my morning tea and oatmeal, then settle in to watch you like Style with Elsa Klensch when I was in high school 💖.
Wikipedia says:Jacqueline, comtesse de Ribes (born 14 July 1929) is a French aristocrat, designer, fashion icon, businesswoman. She has been a member of the International Best Dressed List since 1962. You have a piece of fashion history, Karen! ☺👑
I LOVE that orange coat. It reminds me of vintage Courrege. I would go 60's Mod with it. I'd put it with a lace top and tan suede mini skirt and matching boot. Like the Chanel suede boot, with the black toe that all the fashion bloggers are wearing lately. Top it off with a Pucci scarf on your head. A LOOK!
Karen, you looked beautiful in Santa Lucia, I loved your photos! You are a diva and the caramel coat looks wonderful on your skin and hair color. The sequined pleated skirt is out of this world! I've never seen such a perfect skirt! Your passion for fashion translates to your excellent taste for your shopping! Happy new year, gorgeous!
Karen do NOT wear that skirt on the underground !! Its a vintage couture piece by Jacqueline, Comtesse, de Ribes and should be in a museum collection. Vanity Fair styled her The Last Queen of Paris, and she has dressed the worlds most elite women. Although she must be almost 90 years old now her first collection was shown in the home of Yves Saint Laurent. Take your skirt to the Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum and get it appraised before you wear it again....and for Gods Sake don't send it to the dry cleaners !...What a great way to start the New Year .....I'm so happy for you
Karen, is it possible that in this video www.metmuseum.org/metmedia/video/collections/ci/jacqueline-de-ribes-videofashion-news-interviews at 1:26 is your sequin pleated skirt?

Minute 9:03... Those blue shoes!!! THAT whole combo is divine. Such a winner: gray and blue. Awww. Love, love, love. - Oh, and the orange trench! I wanted to scream when you wore the "Games of Thrones" handbag with it. So gorg. - The gray dress is beautiful. Loved how you wore it with the trench and combat boots (IG post-stories). Above all, I am reminded of how important it is to go for the pieces that make your heart stop. It has helped me stop buying stuff that I will not wear and enjoy my wardrobe so much more. I own a Chanel vintage bag from 1981, and the gold hardware has 24K gold. That what makes the gold color on vintage bags so buttery good. Plus the leather is soft and buttery. I totally dig the red coat!!!
