**UPDATE!** i went ahead and ordered 2 of the HANTEK 365F dataloggers from china for the volt pro battery testing - one for voltage and one for current - they are battery powered, and seem like a pretty useful bit of kit for future projects as well! they should be here in a few weeks, and i'll get to work gathering data on the charging cycles/voltage curves on these permobil chargers! ($319 later... YEESH!) lol
@8:50 Tip. If you have a problem with loose caps falling off, you can put a cable tie around the cap (the two ends) and the “arm”. That should hold them in place ;-)
You're not just sharing your thoughts. But also your experience. No matter how well trained a technician is, without using a chair themself for an extended period of time, knowledge from experience trumps training in my opinion.
Blimey Dan you are really inspiring, I wish that I was able to do the things that you do, getting old ain't much fun, only thing I managed to do lately was installing new 55Ah batteries in my quantum and that nearly seen me off, I'm over 70 now and boy do I feel it. Your chair looks brand new 👍
Not surprised at the battery bulging. 30+V is pushing them to their limits and the primary cause of issues I believe. I would charge them at 28.8V at 68F and decrease the voltage by 0.03V for each degree above 68F (ballpark the voltage decrease).
ended up cutting it out of the video since it was super long already - but i was showing one of the victron blue-smart chargers and how it can be fine tuned to do EXACTLY whatever ya want! they also have temp compensation that can be adjusted independently as well
Hey how are you? Really enjoyed your trip to soccer with your friends, had fun but sorry the van broke down twice, makes for a long trip. I wanted to tell you I purchased a late he thinks Nov 2023 Permobil m300 with every option available, had 7.5 miles total. Sadly she passed in Jan 2024, I am 5'9 she was 5'4 so been doing some adjustments, seat, arms etc done except to lengthen the arms, my wrist hits the end of the hand hold on the left, joy stick on the right. but I can't find a video on adjusting them forward and more importantly the seat back is way too low for my long body, my head can't lean back at all and the head rest when going to stand comes down and pushes hard on neck and shoulders so can't deal with that, it's very painful. It sits high to begin with so getting out of it I use the stand option to get my feet almost to the floor. So we can't find anything on getting that seat back adjusted to much higher, it's probably about 18" or 19" Took the seat from about 17 "to a 19," much more comfortable. The cup that slides under the arm came with it, i got everything they got brand new, 2 bags all manuals tools plus her ROHO which feels too tight on the air cause it feels stiff. Do I need to buy a new back plate to get it high enough for my head? Her extra back cushion also too low and doesn't form to me, to get started after perusing wheel chair cushions I opted to go with an ortho pet bed 20x30 5"thick to give me the height to rest my head and neck. Bought a good lumbar pillow but foam blocks to stick in and form the cushion out is full so I can work on that. I've been looking for the original higher back cushion also too short. I'm definitely not complaining just working through the adjustments to fit me for best comfort. My husband has been adjusting the best he can, I found after 2019 the m300 chair changed in it's building and made them for easier to adjust. Would really appreciate a video on back of seat adjustments, even called Mar's mobility cause they also do a lot of video's on adjustments but none on the back of the seat so far. Can you help? Hope all is well for you and friends, it's good to haver a network, that I do not have. Thank you if you can help the 80 year old Sr's get the chair right, I'm so blessed to haver it and I know that. He only charged me $1000 cash and we met halfway to get it to me. Gov had a chair for me about 7 years ago but it had problems and had no idea who to contact, my guy left right after my chair was delivered. Where we live doesn't have a wheel chair store all over like in Fl, so I've been on my own. assuming the chair has stock seating - all of that is adjustable.. i don't have a video that covers ALL of it at once.. but here's a link to a service manual shat should cover all of the adjustments! - its a different model of chair, but the seating is the same, and this manual has more detail than the others.. brokenwheelchairs.com/resources/Permobil_PDF/Permobil_F5_Service_Manual.pdf the seating adjustments start on page 167 - but check out the table of contents - should have everything ya need! Hello Sir, i have a used permobile c350 that i bought recently, the batteries were empty so i tried to charge them directly with a victron charger, one them was charged but the second one as i started to charge it, about 5 min later it started to leak from one the six nuts (light leak) My question: is there any way to repair that nut or to close it with glue maybe if there's a crack on it, or can I continue to charge it even if it is leaking??? Is there a danger ? Thank you so much for your reply and your time. Have a nice day.
that battery is damaged and ya shouldn't try to charge it anymore.. when they short internally, pressure will build up and those vents are there to keep the battery from exploding! both batteries will need to be replaced. DO NOT try and charge those batteries any further! the gas generated is HIGHLY explosive
@@TotallyNormal- Thank you for your reply and for your time. Can i replace them with normal batteries (non gel)?? (Because of my actual financial conditions) Or i must use the gel batteries please?
That chair would use group 34 batteries.. MK brand is the best - but you’ll want to avoid generic automotive style flooded cell batteries.. deep cycle AGM is what’s required.. if you want to go inexpensive- the minimum ones I’d use are about $160 each.. they’re not gonna have the same service life as MK batteries.. but will “work” Mighty Max Battery ML-Group34-12 Volt 60 AH, Internal Thread (INT) Terminal, Rechargeable SLA AGM Battery a.co/d/0ekKwenS

Hey Dan, I installed a set of the 3.50 “off road” tube tires on my outdoor F3. (Like you did in a previous video) I see a set of aggressive tread Permobil marked caster tires only, (no rim or bearing). How big of a deal is it to put new tires on original caster 1:59 rims? The F3 was made in 2020.
they're fairly easy to swap - but one thing i forgot to mention in the video - using the old wheels and replacing JUST the tires can sometimes make them start squeaking wildly, with the new tires on an old 'worn out' wheel..
Im wanting to put a 4 in wide aggressive tire on my 3.00x8 rim . Is that (4") to wide to get a seal Thank you and advance. I have been watching your videos for quite some time now. I just I'm not been a subscriber until now. Love it, love it, love it.❤
it depends on the tire.. if you're wanting to put onto a permobil, spacers or something to change the offset will be needed so the tires don't interfere with the motors etc..
Hello, do you know much about the quantum q-logic 3e and ex? I just got the quantum forfront 2 with the q-logic 3e my chair only had one actuator the seat lift. I want to go to the 3ex I bought one of of eBay but I heard that you need to program the joystick to run on the chair. Is it easy or what do you think?
so q-logic 3 is still unknown.. in theory things can plug in and work BUT i dont have enough parts yet to play around with swapping things.. i'd assume you'll need a programmer to get things working.. im not sure if the 3e joystick has the micro SD card inside (if it's still how that one works..) thats how the chair's configuration is stored - i dont recommend "trying it to see what happens" as those chairs are notorious for 'locking up' and not working if anything changes..

Hi. Have you had to deal with an error code 20c2? I'm getting this on my f5 on my f5. It won't tilt or elevate. Do you have any idea what I need to do to fix it
remove the seat pan, and you'll be able to see everything a LOT easier! the ICS actuator connection block is under there as well. the seat pan is 2 halves, with 4 screws total - one on each corner of the seat pan - ya can see them after pulling off the cushion. also the seat lift actuator is NOT the vertical one on the front of the power base - its horizontal under the seat pan, and fairly hard to see
FYI - if you order the chairs form permobil without the anti tipper option - they limit the speed of the chair to 5 MPH.. so obviously be careful and such :^) personally ive NEVER had my chair tip forward and actually need them even once!
I have a question for you. The Permobil f3 Is slightly slower than the F5. How can the F3 be made to go 7.5 MPH? I am a new subscriber and I really enjoy your channel! ❤️ Do you have a Patreon account? Thanks! Jason
The 5 series chairs use different motors, with different gear ratios to accomplish the 7.5 mph speed. On 3 series chairs, 6.5mph is the mechanical limit of the motors.
they're not a straight across swap... (im about 85% sure) its something im gonna try at some point though to make sure! the swing arms are a bit wider and longer on the 5 series chairs to accommodate the faster 4 pole motors though.
My permobil f5 corpus 2015 control modüle is 1704 modüle error . I Live in turkey and my country whellchair repairman very bad.my control module have to change and my dad buy to internet PERMOBIL F3, M300 PG DRIVES RNET 120A CONTROL MODULE WHEELCHAIR D50946.16 Is this module suitable for my chair?
that error relates to an internal relay fault - if you're going to replace the main control module, it needs to be from the SAME model, and SAME year range of permobil chair for the best chance of it working without needing re-configuration. sometimes they plug in and work, other times a programmer is needed to configure things.

@@TotallyNormal-
Are 3 and 5 motors interchangeable?
Could we put 5s motors into a 3?
Do you have a patreon account?
You should.
Thanks 😃👍🏼
they're not a straight across swap... (im about 85% sure) its something im gonna try at some point though to make sure! the swing arms are a bit wider and longer on the 5 series chairs to accommodate the faster 4 pole motors though.
My permobil f5 corpus 2015 control modüle is 1704 modüle error . I Live in turkey and my country whellchair repairman very bad.my control module have to change and my dad buy to internet PERMOBIL F3, M300 PG DRIVES RNET 120A CONTROL MODULE WHEELCHAIR D50946.16
Is this module suitable for my chair?
that error relates to an internal relay fault - if you're going to replace the main control module, it needs to be from the SAME model, and SAME year range of permobil chair for the best chance of it working without needing re-configuration. sometimes they plug in and work, other times a programmer is needed to configure things.
@@TotallyNormal- thank you very much
hmm🤔
Can you help me please
Thanks!
You are awesome! Im glad to see a soul that gets involved. I wish the whole enchilada would not require so much of our involvement.. i learn a lot from watching your videos. Thank you!
