The best advice you gave was “ don’t be so serious- it’s just a job” 👌🏻

I've used plumber's putty and silicone caulk for sink drains. So far the silicone caulk is working better than the putty did. 😊

    "Stupid stick", how funny... 😂😂
I heard another electrician say these noncontact testers are "only for confirming what you already now".

Buying basic tools is the easy part. Finding someone to hire you with no paid experience is harder.

@kevinditto1733 Ray seems to have a good complex. I worked for one. It was balls to the wall everyday. Could never keep up

I suggest looking for a role as a maintenance assistant to get in the door and gain experience. I did this myself 32 years ago. The first six months I did more janitorial than repairs. I had a Supervisor that gave me on the job training. After 6 months I was promoted to a Maintenance Mechanic at a property with 500 apartments.

Look for a internship, it's low pay but you will get a ton of experience. You will be abused but prove your self and people will teach you and you will be able to move up or find another place with little some experience needed

I'd recommend a rigid one stop wrench for around $20. That will do most of your water supply lines in one small package even breaks in 2 wrenches for compression fittings. Never discount pawn shops 2nd hand stores and yard sales old tools are good tools donr have to be shiny.

so do I. I also have a lot of Milwaukee, its a mix of the 2 BUT I would pick dewalt over mil if I had the pick. Mil makes a lot more 12v tools

You look at most electricians and maintenance peoples drill/driver or impact you'll see the m12 surge alot... I have used mine for 5 years and it's considerably quieter. I would dare say it's quieter than that installation driver at times. Moral of the story you defently don't need 1 million flbs of torque to put in tiny screws. M12 does tend to have the best trigger control and you can feather even the surge for set screws or cover plates. You also have the power for timberlocks or large lags. I would highly save on other hand tools by buying used maybe even clean them up (sweat equity) buy once cry once on the $170 milwauke m12 surge or something your flavor.

One cool thing I learned the belt tunnel loop on your veto bag can hold tools but is excellent for the icon light. That's one more open slot for another tool! Just stick the lights body in the loop with the lens on the outside so it's easy to pull out. I tested the milwaukee light you have and it can fit but it's tighter.

No zip tie holder on your veto bag? Great addition and you never know when you need one. Also all the tapes on the loop. Love that bag I just picked it up thinking it was just something to put on my main bag but now it’s all I grab.
What do you hold all your work orders in or do you do just basic clipboard or nothing like most and leave them on the desk.
Would be a good video for new people to see how you write up work orders.
I know these videos are time consuming but can we get some links in the description for affiliate stuff?
Good video as usual. Oh and I like the wall of shame idea. I might put one in my office. Need a video of that too. lol 😂 sometimes you gotta cast it.

Things have changed a bit for me in the mornings so i don't have a lot of time to run back to the shop and do a morning set down. But the timing of the morning has changed again so i can get back to the "word of the day " thanks for asking 🙏 😊

@@Raysmaintenance I always say that if you are going to be using a tool everyday then buy a good one. If it is a tool or tools you will use once and a while, then go get the harbor freight brand or a cheaper brand. You do not need to sped a lot of $ to get a nice pack out. You are right and I hope some of the young guys listen to your advice.
