- in todays video we will be discussing both the positive and the negative sides to keeping pet rats.
rats are amazing pets and they are definitely one of my favourite animals! hopefully this video will be helpful to those of you questioning whether to get pet rats, or to new pet rat owners! personally i feel that the pros to owning rats definitely outweigh the cons, or i dont think id have rats as pets :-)

Hey, just wanted to say that I really appreciated your advice about the cage last time and the boys have been put in their new cage yesterday. Rats are imo one of the best pets ever 🧚♀️

@@MaddieLeonczek yeah I got the 95 and it’s great. I can now just put anything in the cage without being limited to what fits through the doors. I did the assembly myself too and I am a rather small person. So all in all 10/10 would recommend. Except the price point ofc.
im glad!!!! i know the feeling - when i had fewer rats I had a cage with small door openings - it's sooo much easier to clean & set the cage up with doors that open fully!! :-)
I have 8 rats, I love them quite a bit.ive had rats for quite a while.the only con to me is that they don't live as long as animals like cats and dogs.if you keep the cage clean they don't smell at all. I have rats that jump into my arms,they jump to me so much my friends call them my air wing like a f 14 air wing. They are expensive but so what.they eat what I eat even when I make steak and potatoes and vegetables. Cleaning the cage is just part of owning pets.great video .

My bestie wants a rat in the future and I kinda want one as well (my bestie and I we'll be roommates in the future!)
At what age do you think is appropriate to keep at least 2 rats? My daughter's have looked after one of the dogs we have for 2 yrs now doing all their feedings taking out and bath time but we've never had rats as pets so I'm just learning. I honestly don't know what have them the idea but I'm looking into it and highly appreciate any information

How were you able to litter train them?
i added litter boxes to their with a different type of litter than the rest of their cage, and a few times a day just scooped their poops up and placed them in the litter box! they learn super quickly!

@MaddieLeonczek last year when I had mine I went to school and then I came home so excited to see my babies and they were all eating each other and I was horrified
