Much like Roman Catholicism as I’ve experienced it minus the polygamy 😅 However they believe one baptism so if you have been baptized in a Protestant church that they approve of, they don’t require new baptism. I’ve fallen away a bit but I still feel like I’m a “Cultural Catholic” if there is such a thing. I love the traditions and bells and whistles as some say. I’m embarrassed to say I binged “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. I don’t have TikTok so I never heard of MomTok. They remarked that some people think all Mormons look the same or similar. I don’t know if it’s genetic?
I had never heard of momtalk either until that show. I only watched the show because my kids supposedly went to school with some of them. Plus I live close to one of them too. The reason they baptize people again is they believe you have the “proper authority” to be able to perform ordinances like baptism. Men make up some of the craziest rules for God 😳
I don't know if you have already answered this somewhere but Janelle said she would do plural marriage again. I know her mom and Kody's dad's second wife were married to him at a later age. Is this common? Would Janelle likely find another marriage within the group if she wanted to? Thanks :)
Why was Kody Brown considered fresh blood when he was a cousin to the Allreds? I think he is third cousins to Christine and more distantly related to Meri.
well, he'd been mainstream, and maybe he's just distant enough to bring unfamiliar genes into the gene pool. I think the girls all thought he was cute too. Didn't his father join the church first?
I think if Robyn demanded for more wives, Kody would do it to keep her.
I’m curious to see how it ends up.
Hey are you please going to post your episode 6 live recap?! ❤

Yes this is extremely common at least in the AUB. At that point she would be released from Kody & sealed to the new man.

Oh wow I didn’t know he was related. Yes he was absolutely fresh blood b
4th cousins. Christine's and Kody's great great grandfathers were brothers, I believe. Byron & Nelson Allred @@NotestoSelf444

If you’re LDS then convert to AUB or FLDS, doesn’t the person have to take some instruction or get baptized?
yes, they would normally get baptized into the culture by someone deemed worthy.
Fresh or new blood? 😮 Awful.
Both
