I don't know why the IRS isn't on Kody's SSA! He needs to be investigated for mortgage fraud and moving money that he was told by the Utah courts told him not to. He should be held in contempt of court.

@@kathleenobyrnes6753 No. it’s not likely. They are probably issued a 1099, and are responsible for paying their own taxes. Most reality cast members form LLCs and the network pays their LLC, and also any expenses that are a result of their “job” are tax deductible.

I think you nailed it right there. Kody wants the image. Being fiscally responsible and having a reliable, honest income aren’t sexy so he doesn’t care for those things.
Exactly. Kody has always been a showman concerned with his image. It's been evident since day one with all his showboat behavior, like driving around in his little sports car. Even in a case where he and Janelle were going camping and the zipper on their sleeping bag didn't work, immediately Kody declared they would buy another instead of using what they had.

exactly they don’t have any need for a house that big!🤦🏼♀️we have a 4,000 square foot house and when we bought it we had all 6 kids at home, but of course they have been growing up, moving onto college at this point we have just one minor age child at home now she’s a junior in high school now so she won’t be home for all that much longer now, even with the one child home we’re really realizing it’s almost time to sell and downsize our home 😮 though it’s really nice to have plenty of room for the holidays when the kids start strangling home for holidays ❤ but I can’t see my husband and I living in this 6 bedroom 3 bath monstrosity of a home though I love our home but we won’t have a need for a house this large once the youngest heads off to college in a new years 😢

When C left him off she also let him off the hook, IMHO. She can claim fear of the government all she wants but I call BS on that. She went to a regular college, lived in the secular world before and after marriage and she worked as a polygamy advocate/intermediary. I think she knew that the state wasn’t coming for her kids or Kody. The reason for leaving K off the BC’s was probably about collecting child benefits.

Janelle did say Kody will use each woman’s insecurities to hurt them, Janelle is very money conscious so he is leaving her dangling about Coyote Pass to torture her. Christine was insecure about her weight and appearance and he would happen say cruel things in regard to that.
Kody is so wrong in so many ways, but he blamed Janelle for telling Christine that he wasn’t attracted to her. I remember specifically Kody telling Christine he was never attracted to her not long before she packed his things up and stored them in the garage for him to get. This man is so absolutely disgusting, disrespectful and in complete denial of the truth 🤮

Kody and Robyn were jealous of Vhrustine and David’s new home and their Air B&B in Moab. So he and Robyn went about trying to out do them. This is typical narcissistic Kody and spendthrift Robyn MO. My guess is Kody is doing this to show the court he has no money, or less of it so Christine gets less in child support and Meri and Janelle don’t get everything coming to them. Can’t wait to see if the Judge slaps Kody down and it forces him to sell Coyote Pass and that big ole mansion they just bought to pay the debts.
There’s no judge who is going to “slap Kody down” for anything. Janell and Meri own a fraction of 2 lots on Coyote Pass, and THAT’S IT! janell and Meri will have to spend their own money to force a sale of 2 lots. And they have NO claim or ownership to the other 2 lots. There is no case. Yes, Christine will get child support, and Janell and Meri will get their small share, but it will cost them to do so. Kody had ALL the advantages.

But it’s clear they are getting rid of any surplus cash they have, investing it in other things to keep the OG 3 from getting anything. And the new house was purchased by the trust so it’s protected. A home being in the trust does not protect it from being liened, or seized, in a lawsuit. Putting all assets in a trust is just the easiest way to pass things down when the owner dies.
As Meri & Janelle’s names are on 2 of the lots, would that prevent K&R from using those lots as collateral?

In Australia we get the same version as the UK does, I think the US gets a watered down version for the fact there’s more people would be against the way polygamy is viewed than the rest of the world as we don’t really have it in our country

Kody and Robin need the show but have zero content or storyline. He needs a way to rope these women into keeping the show going. They are showing up to events of Christine kids and other family members not because they want to but because they need a story. Robyn and Kody are very similar. Greedy, manipulative, and very calculated. I think Christine and everyone need to get it and set strong, no contact boundaries with them. Let Kody and Robyn create their own story like over there.
He plays stupid, but he knew from very beginning what he was doing. Having TLC pay them in a lump sum that went into an account only he had access to, manipulating woman to put all money they earned into that account. The only wife that will get anything out of him is Christine for child support from the day paternity results come in, until possibly she graduates from college. The women got nothing in writing about loans.
After watching this I pulled up several TLC UK clips and am blown away by how much more content the UK version includes! So many nonsensical things about the show make sense when that content cut from the US version is retained. I even watched a couple of clips with Suki interviewing them last season, and she is actually a fairly decent interviewer in the UK version. I am going to see if I can watch the UK version of the show not only going forward, but rewatch all the old episodes. Thanks Sarah!

This has been a recurring theme with the Brown family. There were similar speculations of balloon mortgages made when the Browns bought their houses in Vegas, and I believe there was even a specific note of intention made in a Brown family time capsule that they would pay off their houses within five years. There have been multiple mentions of the family picking up and moving every five years, and both the final payment of Coyote Pass, and the sale of Kody and Robyn's Flagstaff mansion fit within a similar time frame. They tend to put the lowest down payment possible on their properties, pay very little off on the interest for five years, then sell and take the profits from the increased property values before the balloon payments are due. CP was the only exception, as they didn't seem to finance that property through a bank or lending agency (they dealt specifically with the owner).
I have no clue what kind of money they receive from TLC, but they are ALL terrible with money, and it doesn't surprise me that Kody is constantly scrambling to find enough money to pay off the other wives. While they have expensive properties, none of those properties are paid off (again, with the exception of CP). The amount of loans that are constantly being taken out, then paid off at the eleventh hour is indicative of financial over extension. I don't think any of them are poor, but I doubt any of them have enough cash in their accounts to fund the lifestyles they are "manifesting" for themselves. Kody and Robyn, especially.

I watched the latest episode this morning, and I had to laugh at Kody and Robyn for their crying. It’s almost like they said ok, you cry and then I’ll cry because i(Kody) am gonna appear to be sad that Meri moved on even though I told her to go away.
Perhaps Kody and Robyn have shopping addictions. At this stage of his life why does he need such a big new house ? This does not seem smart or practical.

As to being guilty of accounting Robyn and Kodys spending and family income for taxes, I doubt Janelle has had access since 21 or 22. The monies have been separate since DABSARK and Janelle not legally married to him I doubt would commit outright fraud. Not with her government background in accounting…

Kody played all the right cards and won the game by systematically putting everything in his and Robyn’s name. Legally, the OG3 don’t have a case. They allowed it to happen, and without legal marriages, they are owed NOTHING! The most they are owed is Meri 1/3 of 1 lot, and Janell 1/3 of 2 lots, but that’s only when (or if) they sell those lots. As co-owners and no legal standing to force the division of property (meaning no marriages), those properties can sit for years bc all 3 owners have to agree to the sale. Kody could be spiteful and not agree to sell. But what is much worse is that Kody n Robyn own 2 lots by themselves and can choose to sell at any time and don’t have to share any of the proceeds. So, I highly doubt that Meri n Janell will see 25% of the 4 lots. No way! Sadly, they are barely going to get their legal share of the 2 lots that have their names. :(
I was rewatching sister wives, and i'm on season 2 and I was surprised that back then he said that line as well...nothing scares me but poverty! Clearly it was an old mantra he had!
It’s wild to me that Robin doesn’t see this as a sign of her future. Kody is clearly willing to lie and cheat and betray his wives - she should remind herself this can / will be her one day.

Robyn is his legal spouse though so she has the courts to remedy all her matters if there were a divorce. It doesn’t sit right with me to hear her say she’s financially responsible in newer seasons and yet to see her home is covered almost wall to wall with stuff and what I’ve read very expensive art work. Who lives among so much extravagance when you’re still raising young children, have 18 kids all together and also during the past few years 3 other wives? Robyn has nothing to worry about if there’s a division of assets ever. She’s already been divorced once where finances were a vital issue in the divorce you can bet she’s not going to do that again. She’ll screw Kody over probably.
Because Kody wants to be petty and refuses to give Janelle and Meri their share of the property and pretends that Truly and his other children doesn’t exist makes me think that is why Christine decided to hold him financially responsible for Truly. I think Christine refuses to let him ride off into the sunset with Robyn while ignoring her daughters. I hope Janelle files for back child support for Savanna and that will teach Kody a lesson in being petty

I believe Kody kept the property and has already paid off Meri and Janelle. I believe they can't say anything about it until this season ends. I also think that Christine waited for Janelle to be paid by Kody, realized how much money Kody and Robyn have, and then filed for all of that back child support.
If Janelle doesn't lawyer up, that would be a big mistake. She's not an ex-wife to the law. She is a co-owner and partner...including the home purchased that Robyn lived in w/Kody. If she doesn't get a lawyer, she should just drop the subject instead of torturing herself.

But you don’t understand… LEGALLY, Kody owes them NOTHING!!! Yes, they are co-owners on 2 CP
lots, but Kody doesn’t “owe” them anything. Only if all 3 owners agree to sell, then (and only then) will they be entitled to their 1/3 share (Meri 1/3 of 1 lot; Janell 1/3 of 2 lots). But Kody doesn’t owe them anything out of pocket, not legally anyway (morally yes). But no court can help them. And worse, Kody n Robyn can legally sell the 2 CP lots that they own by themselves and don’t have to share one single penny of it. KnR wouldn’t even have to tell anyone that they sold and get to keep all of the money.
Im smart enough to realize reality TV is almost never reality. But for some reason I have always fell for this one. Im truly beginning to believe this is all a self produced mess. That Kody is writing his own scripts. There is no way that he can possibly be for real. I think his head even grew for US Weekly naming him Reality TVS biggest villain. It now feels like hes just straight up trolling us. Calling Meri his favorite ex wife after telling us for years she was enemy #1. From what I understand this can be a forced sale if he does not play nice. From talking to lawyers I know a matter like this can be brought before a Judge and the person mismanaging the estate can be made to sell and split the proceeds.
There is no 'estate' - he is married to Robyn, and everything is in their name.

Because legally, Kody owes Meri n Janell nothing. Only the CP lots that have their names on them is what they are entitled to (and only a 1/3 share each). And that’s only when and IF they sell. And all owners must agree to the sale, so Kody could drag his feet forever. EVEN WORSE, Kody and Robyn can sell the 2 lots that they own just them two and not have to share a single penny with anyone or even tell anyone that they did so. And it would all be 100% legal! This loan was a home equity loan that was paid off when they sold the home as the loan was secured by the property-second in line to the original mortgage. It doesn't mean that they have come into money-it was paid off to clear the title for the buyers of their Flagstaff home, and those funds came from the money the buyers paid for the home. Hope that makes sense.
